For the second time in five weeks, People magazine put Bruce Jenner on the cover, and since announcing “I am a woman” on national television, the cover said he’s “Living as a woman every day – and feeling ‘elated’.”

Inside, People gushed about Jenner’s “long journey to self-acceptance.” A photo caption recalled how Jenner told Diane Sawyer “Maybe this is my cause in life...this is why God put me on this earth – to deal with this issue.”

The headline was “Bruce Jenner opens up about his transition: Inside his life today.” People carefully noted: “Per Jenner’s request, People will continue to use male pronouns until instructed otherwise.”

“By the very next day [after the Sawyer interview], those closest to Jenner said they could see an immediate, marked difference in his demeanor.  ‘He’s relieved,’ says a Kardashian source. ‘This whole thing had been a roller coaster, and it’s like a big weight is off his shoulders.  He seems in a better place right now.’”

After the ABC interview, Jenner is “feeling physically and emotionally liberated, and “finally able to live the authentic life he yearned for over many years.” He’ll be “cherishing small indulgences like nail polish and long hair that made him a tabloid target in the past.”

He’s also had a pile of surgeries to look more feminine, but the big amputation (“sex reassignment surgery”) is “down the line.” People championed the next “crucial step” of introducing “her” – Jenner’s female identity – to family and friends at “girl parties” at his home. “Around summertime, ‘Bruce’ will be no more,” readers are promised.

A “Jenner source” insists the forthcoming E! reality show is being made because “Ultimately he really wants to help people – not just those who are transgender but those who are bullied or face discrimination....He is on a mission and has a lot to offer.” A text box from a “show source” announced “Bruce finally gets to live the life that he wished to have for so long.’

The story ended with a Jenner insider again: “He’s proud and he’s happy, and he’s looking forward to everything. He is finally free.”
