Daily Kos on ObamaCare: 'Conservatives Want to Hurt People,' Liberals Want to Help

By Tim Graham | July 02, 2012 | 11:22

Laurence Lewis at Daily Kos couldn’t help digressing from his blog on the San Francisco gay “pride” parade to ObamaCare. “The difference on health care between Republicans and Democrats, between conservatives and liberals? Republicans and conservatives want to take access to health care away from people,” he wrote on Sunday.

They “want to end Medicare and Medicaid as we know them. In absolute contrast, Democrats and liberals want to build on the ACA, until access to quality health care is a national birth right. In other words, Republicans and conservatives want to hurt people; Democrats and liberals want to help people.”

Lewis concluded: "The agents of regression and repression will not prevent this dream's imminent emergence into reality."

Naturally, Obama is apparently drawing grand enthusiasm from the left-wing base in San Fran Nan's territory:

OFA [Obama for America/Organizing for America] was out in force, and their parade participants were handing out pink Obama LGBT stickers. Long after having left the parade, all day and night, all over the city, I saw people wearing these stickers. It's purely anecdotal, but my observation is that this most liberal of cities is very enthused to re-elect this president.

bitch slapped by reality.

Here in Illinois where the big city dems have controlled the state long enough that we are just plain broke. Liberal ideology is crumbling under the weight of reality. The state dems here are cutting worse here than any Republican controlled state that I've heard of. and many more cuts are coming.

Someone should ask obama why his home state is failing and is cutting programs for the poor, elderly, handicapped, schools, nursing homes (and on and on)

'Liberals Want to Help'

Submitted by Dave. on Mon, 07/02/2012 - 11:47am.

Liberals Want  to Help Control Every Aspect of People's Lives.

There, fixed it for 'em.

And thanks to John Roberts' hideous Obamacare ruling, they will ultimately be able to - right up until the moment the whole country finally tips over.

LOL Dave, you nailed it!

Submitted by motherbelt on Mon, 07/02/2012 - 12:23pm.

And don't you just love the "quality healthcare for all people" part?

That's the howler of the piece.

of course, our "healtcare system" will be WAY better than England's or Canada's!

WE won't have waiting times of 6 months or a year; WE won't have people being turned down for surgeries; WE won't have people refused treatment other than palliative!!

We will just magically have enough doctors, nurses, facilities and money to treat everyone for everything, for any length of time. at any expense.

Because we will have the "right" people running it!!

Submitted by tcm14 on Mon, 07/02/2012 - 12:22pm.

Dems love to throw around the term "access to quality healthcare," but they are in denial that the govt will provide "quality" healthcare. Repubs want everyone to have access to the world class healthcare to which we are accustomed, Dems want everyone to have access to the poorest quality healthcare that the govt can get away with providing. In other words Dems want to hurt people and Repubs want to help people.

Liberals only want dependency

Submitted by ohio granny on Mon, 07/02/2012 - 12:38pm.

Exactly how does fostering dependency on the government help anyone except liberal politicians?
When does/did anyone ever become self sustaining or move up the financial ladder by only living on government handouts? The answer is NEVER. The dems have to have a certain number of dependent/stupid/ignorant voters to stay in power.

Why would anyone think government can spend money you earn better than an individual can? Only the ignorant and/or stupid.

Big question - what happens when enough people quit working? quit paying taxes? Answer - we become Greece. Is that what the democrats want? I say it is.
