Maddow Fawns Over Pelosi at D.C. Lunch, Says She Should Have a Building Named After Her
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was honored in Washington during a discussion and light lunch hosted for a largely female audience at the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum. She was honored by MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, who “largely praised Pelosi throughout the interview” and at one point referred to her former speakership as "Sam Rayburn-esque." Rayburn was Speaker for 17 years and one of the House office buildings is named after him.
"TARP, the stimulus, health reform, Wall Street reform, student loan reform, the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, the new GI bill," Maddow began. "The number of major pieces of legislation that you not only saw passed in the House — but we can also include cap-and-trade, we can include the DREAM Act there —but beyond those, the ones that also became law is, and I don't just mean to flatter you, but is [the] kind of list of legislation we associate with people whom we name large buildings after in Washington."
The Washington Examiner added that Maddow's suggestion got a wave of applause and one shout of "yes, please" from the largely female crowd.
Roll Call reported Maddow began the conversation by recounting how in Pelosi’s first remarks after being elected in June 1987, the new Member said she had come to address HIV/AIDS issues. “As a gay kid growing up in the San Francisco Bay area in the 1980s ... you became the person who all of us believed that no matter where we lived, anywhere in the country, that you were our Member of Congress,” Maddow said.

I'm not much of a fan of O'Reilly, as I find him pompous. Moreover, he frequently interrupts his guests, so he can put forth his own opinion, rather than listening to what they have to say. Even during your interview with him, he didn't appear to want to recognize the liberal bias of the mainstream networks. I guess O'Reilly has to be somewhat careful in criticizing the morning programs, or he won't be asked back to tout himself and to sell his books.

The old stadium was demolished in '89 after 25+ years of abandonment. But Kezar for it's time was a great place to spend a Sunday. But then again, back in the early 60's, so was San Francisco! The stadium was in a good neighborhood and was affordable for families. John Brodie ruled the air. Candlestick Park replaced Kezar in about 1960 and became home for Giants Baseball until Pac Bell Stadium was built in 2000.
Candlestick continues to this day as the home for the 49ers, and is in a remote and not-so-friendly part of San Francisco. It's ridiculously windy and cold in the summer.

Hopefully he will be the first resident and Piglosi can be resident #2. I think that would be an appropriate honor after her distinguished career of corruption at the taxpayers expense.
