Miss USA Wins...After Endorsing Transgender Beauty Queens

On NBC Sunday night, the new Miss USA, Olivia Culpo from Rhode Island, carefully toed the “LGBT” line endorsing the idea of transgender beauty queens to win the crown. She learned from Carrie Prejean, who lost the Miss USA crown in 2009 after refusing to endorse judge Perez Hilton's demand for an endorsement of gay marriage. Hilton, and then the rest of the media, denounced Prejean for weeks afterward.

AP reports after making it to the top five, Culpo was asked by judge Rob Kardashian, "Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?" The question came from “a pageant follower on Twitter,” but obviously NBC and Donald Trump, who now owns the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, plucked it out of the tweet basket:

Culpo didn't hesitate before embracing the Miss Universe Organization's recent decision to admit transgender contestants.

"I do think that that would be fair, but I can understand that people would be a little apprehensive to take that road because there is a tradition of natural-born women, but today where there are so many surgeries and so many people out there who have a need to change for a happier life, I do accept that because I believe it's a free country," Culpo said.

Culpo said after the pageant that she wasn't put off by the question when she heard it.

"This is a free country and to each their own," she said.

To each their own genital choice from the menu? Donald Trump told Fox News that he vetted all of the questions, including the one about transgendered contestants. "Whoever gets that one ... that's a tough one," he said he thought after okaying the question. "She gave a great answer."

She gave the Politically Correct Answer. So Trump is pressured into surrendering on the transgender contestants, and then he then turned around and pressured the contestants to endorse his surrender on camera. What a goose-stepping parade this is.

For his part, Perez Hilton is still demanding more "progress," cheering on the "herstoric" achievement of the transgender contestant in Canada that sued Trump -- Jenna Talackova, which sounds awfully close to Genital Whack-offa -- making the Top 12 and getting a "Miss Congeniality" prize. "Being a pioneer in ending discrimination trumps not taking home the crown, in our opinion!"

I do accept that because I

I do accept that because I believe it's a free country," Culpo said.

Ms. Culpo has obviously realized that one is NOT free to reject that premise.

She's pretty smart

Submitted by jon_torlin on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 9:12am.

I'd say she's pretty smart or at least clever enough to give a circumspect answer like that.  I probably would have done the same.

What's infuriating is how there's such an infinitesimal number of people who are extremely skiled at holding a larger population hostage and that larger population can't or won't tell that tiny amount to go to hell, as well as fighting back against them holding traditional values hostage in favor of values that led to the demise of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Pageant

Submitted by sgfan on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 12:26pm.

And everyone did what was right in his own eyes. A biblical passage that is as current as today's newspapers which have become obsolete.
Jim murdered his neighbor because he didn't like the way he looked at him.
Tom raped his brother's wife because he had "needs".
John stole a car he liked because he didn't have one and this guy had another car anyway.
When you embrace the premise that anyone should be able to do whatever they want and no one should object, you must accept the consequences that come from lawlessness.
Are we really ready to go there?

We would be better off

Submitted by motherbelt on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 9:12am.

We would be better off altogether without these beauty pageants....er.....scholarship programs (-Miss Congeniality)

Let's face it, a girl may start out winning beauty pageants at an early age by being pretty and accomplished, but by the time one gets to the state and national level, it's all about promoting the "right" causes and politically-correct politics.

Otherwise, why would they even be ASKED  questions like this?

They could go away completely and no one would miss them.

Why is this even a question

Submitted by Mr. Mike on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 9:09am.

Why is this even a question at a pageant?

This is like trying to enter a tricked out Toyota street racer in a hardcore classic American muscle car show and saying it's the same thing. Uh, no it ain't!

Could a transgender person win the Miss USA title?

Submitted by Kingfish17 on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 12:54pm.

Q: Could a transgender individual win the Miss USA title?

A:  I think that would all depend on how the contestant was packaged.

Sure, A trans-gendered male could win the pageant...immediately folowed by the Pageant's ratings never again rising above Keith Olbermann levels.

The Real Question

Submitted by Rats56 on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 9:55pm.

The source of the idiotic question asked of Ms. Culpo warrents investigation.
i doubt any one watching the show wondered how she felt about that subject.
The question was a "got ya" question asked to try to trip her up.
The real question most red blooded Americans would have prefered to have her answer would have been:
Beer first then liquor, or Liquor first then beer?
