Randi Rhodes: George W. Bush, 'The Man Who Destroyed the World'

By Tim Graham | June 03, 2012 | 23:08

Tim Graham's picture

George W. Bush re-entered the White House the other day to welcome in a new painting that will hang in the executive mansion. The mere thought of this visit sent liberal radio hack Randi Rhodes into a frenzy on Thursday against Bush: "Here's the man who destroyed the world! Truly, financially destroyed the world. He was - you talk about terrorism - economic terrorism - the entire globe is still trying to recover from the policies that America put forward."

Rhodes played prosecutor: "The deregulation of the financial markets - the entire world is still trying to recover from what this guy did and from what this guy didn't do - Osama bin Laden, he left him. Iraq, he left it. Afghanistan - oh, the hell with it. Uh -the financial industry- deregulate - let's - let's have a party! The whole world is trying to recover and he's making jokes, he's making jokes!"

Earlier in the show, she was unloading that "conservatives would love chaos like Somalia" line:

I don't know why that got you so upset but Somalia doesn't have very much government. And that's the goal for Grover Norquist and his ilk. So if you're down for being a conservative and you find yourself every day saying ' smaller government, smaller government smaller government,' what you're saying is privatize the services of government! Which means private military, which means private firefighting, private jails, private justice system - and it's already privatized enough in- in the way that where if you can't get a lawyer - you get uh - only in a criminal case, by the way, if you're being sued in a civil court you have to get a lawyer.

In 2006, unemployment was at Clinton-era levels and economic...

Submitted by Phryj1 on Sun, 06/03/2012 - 11:22pm.

...growth was so strong, 2007 and 2008 saw the highest tax receipts in history. The country didn't start having problems under the Pelosi/Reid congress took over and proceeded to sit on their thumbs and whistle for the next year and a half and let the financial meltdown spiral out of control and take the whole worlds economy with it.

In other words, the Democrats destroyed the world. Way to go, Dems.

Progressives seem to be completely averse to facts and logic. Apparently, reality has a conservative bias.

The blind led by the DNC media

Submitted by needle on Sun, 06/03/2012 - 11:34pm.

Reagan famously remarked: Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.

That’s pretty good. However, I have been noticing that, whereas Liberals pride themselves on being smart, it is really surprising how resistant they are to learning from their own mistakes.

One of the main reasons for this is that the DNC media is becoming extremely averse to admitting that Liberals ever make mistakes in the first place, much less discussing and learning from them.

This idiocy from Randi Rhodes is a first rate example of what I mean. It is also why I am pessimistic about the future of our country unless the DNC media is thoroughly up-ended.

- Looking forward to the self-annihilation of the Manipulated Stories Machine.

She is still angry from 2000 that Gore lost the election and Bush had two terms. She is still angry that she is a second rate drunken hack chipping her teeth on the pavement to gain publicity. She is still angry that Air America, where she thought she would have a cushy job, ended up being a financial fiasco. She is still angry that (fill in leftist obsession of your choice).

Drunk, angry and full of lies are her penitence for being such a useful idiot to every left wing cause in existence.

How in the world are you

Submitted by Slyrr on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 12:23am.

How in the world are you supposed to reason with, or even talk to, people who are that blinded by their pride and hate? I know with the Lord all things are possible. But hearing people like this foul woman, it's tough to imagine that even a direct visitation from God would cure them of their insane hatred.

Like that line from the Anne of Green Gables show, 'I'm not convinced (she's) a well-bred woman. I don't think that God himself would entirely meet with her approval.'

There's got to be more to this than just blind ideology. Like most things in life, follow the money. I've long held that many liberal networks are on life support, with Obama stealing our tax money directly from the so-called 'stimulus package', then kicking it into the coffers of these failed liberal networks, just like he did with Solyndra. Given their constant rock-bottom ratings, and the sheer madness of their on-air personalities, most of them would have died long ago (without the patronage of their Democrat masters).

A republican victory probably scares all of these so-called 'news' organizations to death, because it would mean their money laundering scheme with Obama would be cut off, and all of them would wind up on the unemployment line - along with the nearly 3 million other Americans that Obama has put out of business and ruined with his failed policies.

If a Liberal/Democrat politician/media figure wants to put their arms around you, or pat you on the back, all they're doing is looking for a good place to stick a knife.

It's amazing

Submitted by HockeyKid on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 6:38am.

that statists like Rhodes are still stuck on "deregulation" as the worst thing in the world. Ever since Reagan deregulated the airline industry, it's been their "big stick", rhetorically speaking.

But deregulation was exactly NOT the cause of the economic meltdown in America. I'm sure Rhodes has no inkling of the involvement of Dodd, Frank, and the Community Reinvestment Act. Otherwise, she'd know that it was regulation, not deregulation, that got us in this mess. But, in the simple mind of a lib, there's no thinking. Once taught that "deregulation=bad", they can't manage to think more deeply.

Sadly, there are people in the world who take their "learning" from droids like Rhodes. I know a woman who actually changed her TV provider just to keep MSNBC. Yeesh.

How can someone as mentally

Submitted by John21 on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 8:04am.

How can someone as mentally limited as Randi Rhodes be taken seriously?

Has she ever chanpioned an idea that had merit? has she every held an intelligent interview? Ms. Rhodes would easily fit in with any number of propaganda organizations of history Nazi Germany, Stalin's Soviet Union, Mao's China and Pol Pots Cambodia she speaks what ever she is told by the appropriate government agency to enhance the government position.
Her obvious attempt at propaganda to assist the current liberal agenda hero, Mr. Obama is painfully weak and lacking any evidence exceot her very limited mental powers of deduction.

It's not the dregulation that is the issue

Submitted by c5then on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 8:33am.

It's the unconstitutional bailout of these private equity firms (like Bain) that the Government deemed "too big to fail" and so propped them up with taxpayer money. It seems that the only firms that were placed in the catagory of bailout-worthy was those that had large contributions to democrats and specifically Obama.

The firms that made bad bets and poor investment choices should have been allowed to go into bankruptcy just like any other company that can't pay it's bills (Solyndra, A123, Ener1, etc). The problem was not that maybe JP Morgan or Chase Manhattan would cease to exist, the problem is that they exist today only because they were given $billions of taxpayer dollars that the government had to borrow to get, and that caused our credit rating to be called into question.

We wouldn't need all of the financial regulations that we have if it was blindingly clear that the US Government (taxpayers) was NOT going to bail out ANY company that got itself into trouble. The companies themlselves would stop the reckless behavior and the stockholders would demand a more conservative approach. But...since there is apparently a HUGE and very strong safety net that is free and costs the officers and the stockholders nothing, they will continue in their reckless habits. Especially knowing that the bigger your ballance sheet, the more likely that you are going to be backstopped by the Federal Government (especially if the contributions to key political campaigns keep coming).

Look at MF Global...There still have been no criminal charges filed even though what happened (even if only for a few weeks) was that client funds were used to support the companie's own positions without the client's permission or even knowledge. It's the same as if a bank president "borrowed" some of his banks deposits to bridge a personal loan for a few weeks. It's still a crime and needs to be prosecuted, Does the fact that CEO Jon Corzine is a prominent democratic ex-Senator from NJ and ex-Governor of NJ have anything to do with the lack of charges? It sure looks like it does!

Listening to libs just cracks me up! This Rhodes character is one of the funniest out there. Back when Air America was on the air, I would tune in and listen to her on my SiriusXM radio when I was doing a lot of driving. It was awesome to listen to her and the callers because it was like getting to be in on a group therapy session at the state mental hospital. I would laugh so hard at their comments because they are so brainwashed, ignorant, and uninformed that it's actually hilarious to listen to!

When they got onto the topic of "George Bush is behind 9/11" and other kook stuff, it was better than attending a comedy act---and this was free! I didn't know Rhodes was still on the air---I thought she disappeared when Air America went tits up. Now I'm gonna have to find her again and listen in---I miss listening to loony tunes!

Bush? What about Pelosi and Reid?

Submitted by truckinmann on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 10:27am.

The worldwide economy was going gangbusters under Bush and a republican congress. They did spend more than they should have, but compared to what's going on with these continuing resolutions because Reid is still controlling the senate, it was nothing! Check what unemployment was when the Democrats took over congress. Check what was happening with all aspects of the economy. It was all strong. Then they started writing budgets that would tank the economy so they could blame Bush and get control of the executive branch too. Unfortunately Bush signed those Budgets into law. So in that aspect I suppose you could blame him for getting the ball rolling. Obama has taken that ball over to a mountainside filled with sticky snow and rolled it over the edge with his policies. When Republicans took the house back in 2010, Reid and Obama came up with the plan of just submitting continuing resolutions until they either get the house back or lose outright. I will give Obama credit for not signing legislation from the other party, even though it would have helped. Of course Reid gave him political cover by never allowing the budgets passed by the Republican controlled house, to come to a vote in the senate, thus not forcing Obama to veto a republican budget. Bush would have been wise to follow the same example, but he didn't play games with our system of government. He believed in the constitution and the right of the congress to write the budgets, be they democrat or republican. Obama has spent his entire presidency looking for any loophole he can, to avoid acting within the the constraints of the constitution. Generally he doesn't find loopholes, because it was written by far more intelligent individuals than he, but he just acts out his socialist agenda anyway. By time all the lawsuits get rectified, he'll be out of office. Major damage has been done to the worlds economy by the democrats in the USA. I hope we can get some people in there with the attitude of the tea party (the original and the new ones) and start to repair the damage. The American people are a sturdy lot, and can get the job done, if we can get these shackles that the democrats, and Obama have put on us removed.

One lose cannon liberal lets go a barrage

Submitted by lrgon on Mon, 06/04/2012 - 12:17pm.

She hits one target but missed many others. She in typical partisan fashion ignores the wars, the skyrocketing debt being accumulated under Obama and Obama's ramped up attack on American's civil liberties.

It's true that under Bush we saw:
1 Bankers bailouts (TARP)
2.Superfunding the Department of Education (NCLB)
3. Huge expansion of Medicare (Prescription Drug Program -Plan D)
4. Huge increase of police state powers ( Dept of Homeland Security). How many @rounds of ammunition did DHS order recently?
5. Survelliance of US citizens skyrockets during his two terms. Obama is using Bush's unconstitutional warrantless searches to expand the police state.
6. Without the Patriot Act Obama would not have the NDAA to arrest without a warrant and confine Americans indefinitely.
7. Debt piled up mountains high via overseas wars. The cost of Afghanistan and Iraq are staggering. Expenditure on war operations has contributed to the decline of America’s economy. War in Iraq and Afghanistan siphon about $13 billion per month from the U.S. Treasury. Since the attacks of September 11, 2001, estimates are that Congress has approved a total of $1.283 TRILLION in military operations, base security, reconstruction, foreign aid, embassy costs, and veterans’ health care spread over three operations.

Obama has expanded overseas war operations into Libya, Yemen. And will likely, after the election, will strike Iran adding to the economic drain and leading us into a one world economic order.
