Networks Skip Video Stings and House Bills on Sex-Selection Abortions

By Tim Graham | June 01, 2012 | 07:46

Those “war on women” promoters at the networks aren’t very good at follow-through. Not only are the Big Three networks skipping out on the latest sting video of Planned Parenthood on sex-selection abortions, they also ignored the House bill called the Prenatal Discrimination Act, which would ban sex-selection abortions. The House vote on Thursday was 246-168, but since it was passed under rules requiring a two-thirds majority, it failed.

But the point was to put Democrats on the record in favor of the war on baby girls, and for sentences like these: “The White House said President Obama opposed the measure because it intrudes on a woman’s right to privacy and would be hazardous for doctors who perform abortions.” It's apparently not hazardous to the unborn?

Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona, the bill’s sponsor called Obama “the abortion president” Thursday. “There has never been a more pro-abortion leader in the White House in the history of the United States,” he said. NARAL Pro-Choice America actually claimed the Franks bill is “completely out of touch with the country’s values and priorities.”

That’s if you live in a country that defines abortion as “women’s health” and bans soda servings larger than 16 ounces as deadly.

The networks clearly thought of this bill just as they thought of the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act -- it's a Republican stunt, and Republican stunts are not newsworthy. Democrat stunts like claiming there's a "war on women" are big news, though.

The liberals might point out the networks so far have not promoted the new ad from Planned Parenthood attacking Mitt Romney and the Republicans.

Cecile Richards appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe on Wednesday to promote their ad against Romney -- while bizarrely claiming Americans resent all the "politics" being played on abortions as her 501 (c)(4) political action fund wars on the Republican nominee. Romney is "out of touch and wrong for women," because apparently, women like the right to kill girls in the womb:

Murder on demand

Submitted by c5then on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 8:09am.

Tell me how the 40 million deaths of unborn infants in this country, since the Roe v Wade decision, is any different than the deaths attributed to Mao Tsedung or Poll Pott?

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with health, and everything to do with the primary purpose for which Planned Parenthood was founded: Eugenics

Madison and Jefferson and Franklin built a Republic - Roberts killed it!

Not only that, but Dana

Submitted by motherbelt on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 8:53am.

Not only that, but Dana Milbank is basically saying that Republicans should oppose the bill in order to ingratiate the Asian-American community.

Dustin Siggins at Hot Air has a fantastic deconstruction of the Milbank column.

Milbank calls Franks' bill "paternalistic."

Barbara Lee says it would “lead to further stigmatization of women, especially Asian Pacific American women.”

The White House says it's a private matter.

...[  ] a very personal and private decision. The government should not intrude in medical decisions or private family matters in this way.”

The bill was defeated.

Shame on this country.

terms that can be understood

Submitted by Agnostic on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 8:49am.

For the left: 40 million citizens

1/2 pay taxes - 20 million

average 6000 a year - just making this one up for effect

= $12 Billion to redistribute to the oppressed

That could keep Obama going for a couple of days!

Never expect the propaganda

Submitted by John21 on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 8:49am.

Never expect the propaganda media to support or declare anything not in the liberal agenda. They see only the utopia promised them by the "Unicorn Riding" President and his "Fairy Dust" solutions.

This is OT I know, but I have to comment on your tag line.

Not as profound as it seems.

Whatever price is settled on is the "highest bid."  Because that's where the bidding stops. ;-)

What Always Gets Me

is that the entire so-called "pro-choice" crowd is ALREADY born, because their parents "chose" life. Just once,I'd LOVE to see an interviewer ask one of these clowns "What if YOUR mother had been 'pro-choice' like you"?

CBS's 60 Minutes

Submitted by Kingfish17 on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 10:10am.

These "gotcha hidden camera" stings were standard fare back in the day for CBS's 60 Minutes. (Maybe they still are.  I haven't watched that show since the 80's.) That and extremely heavy editing that made interviewees sound like they were answering questions that were taken way out of context.  Maybe if FOX were to make an hour long show and air it right before or after American Idol, and include a segment or two on some pap popular culture icon to give some "class" to this expose show, more people who never watch any news shows might get a little education as to the true nature of the left.

Sex Selective Abortion is Misogynistic!

Submitted by freecitizen on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 1:25pm.

How can feminists support this? Don't they realize that sex selective abortion is done to prefer boys over girls? This just shows you "feminists" (as defined as liberal women's groups) don't care about women, they only care about abortion.

Liberal: remove all that's Right, and this is what's Left.

Shockers!

Submitted by berlet98 on Fri, 06/01/2012 - 5:36pm.

Shockers!

Most Americans have been shocked at one time or another. I still recall having my brains scrambled when I was a pre-teen and made the mistake of touching the stove and an ungrounded steam iron at the same time, but that was a different kind of shock.

Our elders were shocked by the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. We all were shaken by the events in New York City and Washington, D.C. on September 11th, 2001.

In between, we experienced all types of minor and major emotional upheavals although not with the regularity with which they have occurred recently.

That is, if we even recognize them as shocking anymore since Americans seem to have become inured to shocks because of their frequency.

True, one man’s startling events are routine to others.

The Time cover of a young mother nursing her four year old and another picture of two uniformed, military moms nursing their infants in public struck many as shockingly inappropriate even though nursing is a completely natural function. Incidents of cannibalism in Florida and Maryland are totally unnatural and all but universally considered shocking.

Happenings causing reactions of revulsion and utter disbelief are regarded by some others as things that come with the human territory, simplistically acceptable because “they are what they are.”

For example, abortion has become so common, so ordinary, it is widely accepted since the mother or a relative or someone they know has aborted a pre-born baby. In fact, with over 50,000,000 abortions committed in the United States since 1973, the “procedure” has become almost commonplace and evokes little reaction from the majority of Americans and less attention from lawmakers.

Lack of concern for terminating an innocent, human life. . .
