Barbara Walters Pushes Michelle Obama to Run for Office: 'You'd Be a Very Popular Candidate'

By Tim Graham | May 29, 2012 | 22:57

Barbara Walters either deeply adores Michelle Obama or she was just acting like an extreme guest-coddler on The View Tuesday. She suggested that if President Obama lost the election – and she then lifted her hands to her mouth in horror – Mrs. Obama could have a career of her own since she would be “a very popular candidate.”

Walters began: “There have been rumors – if the president is not reelected [dramatic ‘God forbid!’ face], or that in the future, that you might consider running for political office.” Mrs. Obama was dismissing that talk, at least for now: (Video and transcript below)

BARBARA WALTERS: There have been rumors – if the president is not reelected [dramatic ‘God forbid!’ face], or that in the future, that you might consider running for political office.

MRS. OBAMA: Those are other people’s rumors.

WALTERS: Would you ever?

MRS. OBAMA: I have absolutely --

WALTERS: You would be a very popular candidate.

MRS. OBAMA: -- absolutely not.

WALTERS: You would not. You would rule it out.

MRS. OBAMA: I am not interested in politics. Never have been.

She'd be a very divisive candidate. That's the type of person she is now. But thats what the left wants.

Barbara Wawa - this is how it began with Barack Obama

Submitted by Gary Hall on Tue, 05/29/2012 - 11:21pm.

Barbara Wawa - this is how it began with Barack Obama.

Remember?

The MSM asked him to run.

They both, Michelle and Barack, insisted he "wasn't ready" yet, and he "hadn't done [accomplished] anything yet."

But the national media push on.

And here we are.

'I'm not interested in

Submitted by killa37 on Tue, 05/29/2012 - 11:23pm.

'I'm not interested in politics. Never have been'????? GET REAL, Moooooooooochie!!! That statement is almost as believeable as hearing you tell somebody to 'eat their vegetables'!! Hell, you big-assed phony - if it weren't FOR politics, you wouldn't be able to pretend that you're Marie Antionette or Imelda Marcos!!! The only part of 'politics' that you're not interested in is when people don't listen to or do what you say - like your poser-assed husband - who thinks that everybody is just supposed to bow down and grovel to whatever it is that he's trying to do.

But, as a candidate, she would be just about as 'qualified' as her little Boy Baraka...........and she IS also 'blacker'. At least she's an American, which is something that has obviously bugged her big posterior in the past, before Baraka was selected.

Just more subjugation

Submitted by deadeyedan on Tue, 05/29/2012 - 11:54pm.

Her chief qualifications are that she was on payrolls for big bucks and almost no work/talent involved.

I'm sure that Ms. Blonde is

Submitted by killa37 on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 1:31am.

I'm sure that Ms. Blonde is sleeping now, but it's just early evening here in Asia/Hawaii, so I'm working on my first black cherry/vodka drink. I see that Boy BlahBlah has stuck his big foot into his big mouth again, with his 'Polish death-camp' remark...........you'd think he'd know by now, since one of his ancestors actually LIBERATED the Jews from one of those 'Polishy death-camps'!!!! I'm sure this will make her 'gaffe (truth) list'.

And I seen that one of the Polish foreign ministers is calling for an apology, and also calling Boy Baraka 'ignorant and incompetant'!!! REALLY??? Who knew??? Even the damn 'Pollacks'??? Yeah.............Barama is 'ignorant and incompetant', but he's doing a pretty damn good job of destroying our country for a moron!!! Which tells me that the people who support him and follow him are ever bigger morons!!!

Get a clue Babs

Submitted by Hippopaulimus on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 2:44am.

Really? Office? Ya think?
What the hell do you think she's been planning on doing?
She's been setting herself up since day one to do the Hillary thing.
Except she plans on becoming the President!
That's also the only reason why she doesn't run her mouth more about policy, like Clinton did, she wants to keep her negatives low.

Submitted by Arlen Cooper on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 6:13am.

She would be as popular as Barney Frank at a Southern Baptist Convention. Bab-wa don't bullshit that woman, she is foolish enough to believe your "sucking-up" lies.

Note that  Walters doesn't

Submitted by motherbelt on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 7:32am.

Note that  Walters doesn't say  Michelle would make a great representative, or senator;  just that she would be a great "candidate."

Just like her husband.

Best idea I've heard yet

Submitted by SeniorD on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 10:24am.

Congress was designed to be 'part time' as members had more important things to do, like farm or run a business, etc. Our Founders would be appalled at the evolution of 'part time' members into full time 'professional politicians (and part time "Club Fed residents').

Tah-wiffick. Once again, Walters reveals her idiot side

Submitted by Galvanic on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 8:49am.

Walters interviews celebrities in the entertainment industry, business world, and politics, and appears to jumble them all together. For her, Michelle Obama would be a great candidate namely because Walters would get to interview her.

No doubt, if she gets the opportunity to interview Barack Obama, she'll ask him if his wife should run for President someday, and he'll give the obligatory "I think she would make a great President, but she's not interested in politics" reply.

What idiot side??

Submitted by SeniorD on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 10:21am.

Baba Wawa, the first 'news anchor to make $1.0 million dollars in salary', hasn't had a coherent thought since her first face job.

Doncha love the way 'women of a certain age' demand 'soft focus' cameras for their on-air appearences?

Maybe she should run

Submitted by SeniorD on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 10:17am.

Just think of the albatross(es) that could be hung:

Taxpayer funded vacations sans hubby
Expensive clothing habits
Full time makeup artist
Affirmative Action-based education
$300,000+ annual salary simply because hubby was 'sent' by someone
Elitist menu
Hypocritic 'obesity' programs while she eats fries
No word about Black on Black murders

And those are just the beginning!

Simply tell your husband to give all his delegates to you, retire to some golf course and, for the second time in your life, be proud of this country for letting a Black Woman run for President.

Run Michelle, Run!!

By all means--run back to Chicago

That was ridiculous~

Submitted by GG_NB on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 10:27am.

Worse than the pandering, dumb question to Michelle was the "Clanky-Bracelets-Hands-to-Mouth-Horror" drama queen movement of Barbara mimicking the thought of O not being re-elected.

Really dumb.

Submitted by StarAZ on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 3:28pm.

We love thinking he will not be elected--don't play with our emotions. As for the Ashamed of America One being a popular candidate, she would soon see the difference between a madeup no-show job like she had in Chicago and one she had to work for.

If Michelle

Submitted by nolefan2 on Wed, 05/30/2012 - 4:58pm.

were to be elected president (God forbid) that would be the 2nd time she's really proud to be an American. That might also be the 1st time that I would consider renouncing my American citizenship and getting the "h e double hockey sticks" out of Dodge. I never watch the View because I'm not really fond of retching.
