Sunday WashPost Pushes LGBT Agenda With 'Transgender at Five' Story
Somehow, The Washington Post always picks Sundays for articles on how God makes mistakes. Screaming at the top of Sunday’s paper was a picture of a little girl getting her head buzzed with the headline “TRANSGENDER AT FIVE,” and “She first declared she was a boy when she was 2 years old. Her parents brushed it off by slowly concluded this wasn’t just a phase." This wasn't news. It was propaganda, and if you don't like it, they dare you to cancel your subscription.
The article, by liberal Post columnist (and former reporter) Petula Dvorak, naturally referred to how everyone has grown to know “transgenders” from Chaz Bono on “Dancing with the Stars.” It also repeatedly rejected scientific fact in referring to this troubled girl in male terms like “he” and “his” – including the “instructional” video the Post put online.
This sentence was especially odd and emblematic: “But in about five years, they will have to decide whether to put Tyler on puberty blockers to keep his body from maturing and menstruating.”
Dvorak began:
She began to argue vehemently — as only a tantrum-prone toddler can — that she was not a girl.
“I am a boy,” the child insisted, at just 2 years old.
And that made Jean uneasy. It was weird.
“I am a boy” became a constant theme in struggles over clothing, bathing, swimming, eating, playing, breathing.
Jean and Stephen gave up trying to force Kathryn to wear the frilly dresses that Grandma kept sending. Kathryn wanted nothing to do with her big sister Moyin’s glittery, sparkly pink approach to the world.

Dvorak then explained that Moyin attended school with her son, which is how she came to know this family, and then publicize them on the front page of the Sunday Washington Post – but hiding them behind a cloak of relative anonymity (using their middle names) “to protect their identity beyond their community”– since the world isn’t pro-transgender enough yet.
See? You’re a girl. You have girl parts,” Jean told her big-eyed daughter. “You’ve always been a girl.”
Kathryn looked up at her mom, incomprehension clouding her round face.
“When did you change me?” the child asked.
Clearly, this is a disorder. But the Post explained that the therapists are now organizing to remove the term “disorder” and replace it with “gender incongruence.” This was the first sentence after the jump off the front page, and the propaganda really kicked in:
Was something wrong with Kathryn?
Her little girl’s brain was different. Jean could tell. She had heard about transgender people, those who are one gender physically but the other gender mentally. Who hadn’t caught the transgendered Chaz Bono drama on “Dancing With the Stars”?
“But this young? In kids?” Jean wondered. She had grown up in a traditional family in the Midwest, with a mother who’d gone to medical school after having children. Jean considered herself open-minded, but this was clearly outside her realm of experience.
She went online to see if a book about transgender kids even existed. It did — “The Transgender Child: A Handbook for Families and Professionals.” Its summary read: “What do you do when your toddler daughter’s first sentence is that she’s a boy? What will happen when your preschool son insists on wearing a dress to school? Is this ever just a phase? How can you explain this to your neighbors and family?”
Bingo.
The specialists quoted were all supportive – and so was the Presbyterian church they attend. The “haters” come late in the story, and are painted as thuggish for not understanding the new societal trend. How dare they make the girl wear a leotard! The Post compares it to....a peanut allergy. This is really a very long editorial badly disguised as a news story. If you disagree with the "trans" trend, then you're compared to thugs:
Parents who ignore or deny these problems can make life miserable for their kids, who can become depressed or suicidal, psychiatrists say. Outside their homes, the transgendered are frequently marginalized and scorned, pushed into an underworld, outside of the mainstream. More often than the rest of the population, transgender teens and adults are harassed, assaulted and even killed. Remember that beating caught on video at a Baltimore County McDonald’s last year? Or the off-duty D.C. police officer who was accused of standing on the hood of a car and shooting a transgendered woman through the windshield?
The Washington Post can't allow this subject to be a debate. It has to be all told from the standpoint of "protective" parents who insist the whole society has to adopt this "disorder" as their own.

The only surprise in this

The only surprise in this "God makes mistakes" article is that it's not in the WaPo's infamous "On Faith" feature.
So the kid's body is one gender and the brain the other?
Well that's easy.....cut up and medicate the body to match the brain!
Because the brain is always right, right?
Just like when the brain tells someone he can fly!I

One can feel for the parents and the child -- but not when it's just shamelessly milked to say "Look! The Fake Boy is happy! Why are you opposed to that!?" The photos that come inside the article are all selling "She/he is happy now. Surrender."
This just proves that no

This just proves that no child is too young to be used for the left's propaganda.
BTW, aren't we supposed to believe that "gender norms" (wearing dresses etc) are just a social construct? That left to their own devices kids are gender-neutral until society imprints them to act a certain way?
As usual, liberals have no problem switching gears to achieve their goals.
And I, for one, can't understand why the parents are letting their child be used like this.
Shame on them.

How is it

that the lugbuts ridicule people like Marcus Bachman for offering counseling to people who want to consider that they aren't homosexual. To them, that is the person denying who "they are."
But when someone says that they don't they they "aren't who they're supposed to be" it's perfectly normal to mutilate their bodies to appease the mind.
L, G, B & T are all affected by a mental disorder. Doesn't make them bad people, but they are not firing on all cylinders.
The Obama Public Relations

The Obama Public Relations department doing its liberal best to distract the voters with minimally important stories instead of the economy, unemployment or financial mismanagement of this administration.
They are becoming quite predictable in their distraction scenerios "War on Women" "Gay Marriage" things that are important in a normal year but at best a distraction for a incompetent administration trying for reelection.

I had to comment on this horrible WaPO story

in their comments section. It's has horrible story, and the biggest red flag here is what
child has a gender obsession at age 2. Truly bizarre............................
Gender identity disorder remains yet another Psych disease being renamed as something more PC
and again without any firm scientific diagnostic test.
I can far more concretely prove on physical exam who is a boy and who is a girl, than a schizophrenic
is not a messiah. This country is truly heading towards the day where the norm for treating schizophrenia
will be hiring 12 actors to portray discipiles so the untreated schizophrenic will feel "at ease" in his/her
"messiah" delusion.
It will happen, as if we now put millions of kids on amphetamines for "behavior" disturbances vs the old
days where they behaved so the teacher wouldnt use corporal punishment, the 12 actors is only a decade away, or less.
So your 2-year-old, who

So your 2-year-old, who understands very little about the real world at this point, declares "I'm a boy", and your response is to treat it with all the same gravity as if a fully-grown adult had made the same statement?
Yanno, when I was a baby, whenever Kurosawa movies came on the TV, I would plunk myself down in front of them in my little diaper, looking like a tiny sumo wrestler, and talk gibberish-Japanese to the samurai on screen. If people like this Dvorak yahoo had their way, my parents would have immediately taken me in for Ethnicity Reassignment Surgery because I was really a Japanese trapped in an American body.
Gotta love Kurosawa movies.

Gotta love Kurosawa movies. Rashomon and Shichinin no Samurai remain among my all time favourite movies. What you say does address a nature vs. nurture argument which isn't at all addressed in the article. It came across as odd to me for a young child to be so fixated on gender and hints towards some external influence for me.
When my daughter was 2, she liked to play she was a doggie.

The story sounds like plain old bullshit, I think MB said it all. If the child was gay at two, then it must genetic which means we can treat it and cure homosexuality, perhaps with drugs, like LSD.
Tyler Clementi and Trayvon Martin: Justice Gone Awry?

Tyler Clementi and Trayvon Martin: Justice Gone Awry?
There are tragedies soon forgotten and there are tragedies which become iconic moments in American life because pressure groups and the media want them to be. The suicide of Tyler Clementi on September 22nd, 2010 and the shooting death of Trayvon Martin on February 26th, 2012 are two such moments.
Both resulted in miscarriages of justice due not to the incidents themselves but due to gay and black agitators and the media campaigning for unjust punishments of those deemed responsible for Clementi’s and Martin’s untimely deaths.
Eighteen year old Tyler Clementi hurled himself 250 feet off the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson River after discovering his Rutgers University roommate, Dharun Revi, and a hallmate, Molly Wei, had videotaped two of his homosexual encounters in the college room he shared with Revi.
Following endless demonstrations staged by sympathizers in the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgendered (LGBT) Movement, Ravi was indicted, tried, and convicted on 15 counts of invading Clementi’s privacy, bias intimidation, tampering with evidence and witnesses, and interfering with his apprehension and prosecution.
Ravi chose to stand trial. Wei copped a plea, testified against him, and was rewarded with a slap on her wrist.
Now 20, at sentencing on May 21st, Ravi faces ten years in prison on the bias-hate crime charge alone and deportation to the land of his birth, India, upon his release.
Few would dispute that what Dahrun Ravi did, particularly Twittering for his friends to view his webcam recording of Clementi’s graphic second tryst, was reprehensible. However, alleging his spying and advertising the tryst constituted a ”hate crime” meriting extended prison time and deportation is ridiculous.
Dahrun Ravi is clearly guilty only of gross indiscretion–and of acting like a college freshman.
No substantive evidence was ever introduced to demonstrate hatred toward Tyler Clementi because he was gay, which nowadays is a widely-accepted lifestyle especially on collegiate campuses, and Ravi was never even accused of contributing to Clementi’s decision to end his life.
Aside from the absurdity of the whole concept of a hate/thought crime, various gay rights groups contend the prosecution went way “overboard” in going after Ravi. The admittedly “self-absorbed” Ravi refuses to accept responsibility for Clementi’s suicide and believes his roomie “had bigger problems in his life.”
He’s absolutely correct. A talented, young, gay violinist with virtually his entire future ahead of him was undoubtedly struggling with more significant issues than a webcam exhibition in order to motivate him to dive into the Hudson.
Should Ravi be sentenced to prison for what was essentially a stupid, teenage prank, it will be a major victory not for justice but for the power of fringe groups and the media to dictate American justice.
A more recent instance of agitators and the MSM falsely determining what’s right and what’s wrong in America is the tragedy that occurred in Sanford, Florida on February 26th, 2012.
The media and black agitators seized upon and made that tragedy a national farce. Fortunately, the George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin case should finally be nearing an end with Zimmerman exonerated.
As detailed here in various articles, the reporting of and reactions to George Zimmerman shooting and killing Trayvon Martin on a darkened, rainy street in Sanford have developed into a racial travesty unrivaled for decades. . .

First, gender identity disorder (formerly called "gender dysphoric disorder" or "gender dysphoria" by us old-timers), is recognized by the American Psychiatric Association with specific criteria. Rather than be long-winded as usual, the diagnostic criteria are given at http://www.mental-health-today.com/gender/dsm.htm - I will emphasize that this is an extremely rare diagnosis. It is not as common as the media would have you believe. We do not have lines of gender-confused patients pounding down the office doors for treatment. Instead, this disorder is most commonly seen as a basis for forcing an insurance company to pay for gender-reassignment surgery or for justifying gender reassignment surgery as a full psychiatric work-up is required prior to any surgery being performed.
Second, did anyone notice that a lesbian couple was charged with manufacturing an incident of "homophobia"? Here we go again with the manufactured situations and the resulting manufactured outrage. Link to http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/05/18/lesbian-couple-accused-faking-hate-...
