Sharpton Insists Black Ministers Amend Their Religion to Vote for Obama After They Prayed Over Bill Clinton
Via the Radio Equalizer blog: On his radio show Tuesday, MSNBC personality Rev. Al Sharpton mocked black ministers who have decided not to vote for Obama because he's ready to legalize gay marriage in a second term. Ever the Obama loyalist, Sharpton found it more objectionable that black ministers prayed for Bill Clinton after his adultery (and perjury) were exposed -- slobbering and rolling around on the floor, he said of them -- than they would not vote for Obama.
Sharpton can't see that someone might find a greater moral problem in installing "marriage equality" across America than in a president's semi-private sexual incontinence, which is not a legislative issue. Apparently, Sharpton can only see that it's his job to pressure black ministers to toe the line, no matter how far it strays from Christianity (audio below):
AL SHARPTON: When I start hearing people say I disagree with his [Obama] position I’m all right with that. I respect that there are things we can disagree with. But when I hear them say they’re not going to vote ‘cause we prayed for him? I saw black ministers, the same one you naming get around and lay hands and pray for Bill Clinton, when Bill Clinton we know committed a sin and we still voted for him and prayed for him.
So what is the difference in this man [Obama] taking a position and an opinion, not committing the act, just saying I’m all right with the legal right for people to do this and people that have committed acts, we didn’t do that to. That’s why I say a lot of these guys are hypocrites. They had prayer meetings for Bill Clinton! Some of the same ones you talking about. Prayer meetings! Got on their knees, slobbered, and rolling down the floor to keep him on office, when they were trying to impeach him.
Sharpton recently signed an open letter endorsing Obama's new position on same-sex couples:
"We are glad that President Obama has joined Dr. Joseph Lowery, Dr. Julian Bond and so many others in full embrace of equality for gay and lesbian individuals in our country. We also welcome the civil debate on this issue that will surely spring. And we encourage all individuals to keep all issues of import to our communities in mind in the days ahead, and we seek to secure equal justice, opportunity, and dignity for all God’s children."

That doesn't matter to Sharpton. All that matters is re-electing a black president. If Obama were a white guy, Sharpton would be ranting against him.
Says Al: Sure you can disagree with him (on an issue, which has implications for the entire country), but that shouldn't stop you from voting for him!

Sharpton's "reverend" charade is laid bare once again.
I suspect that MSNBC got the word from the WH that they needed Sharpton to talk to the clergy "reverend to reverend" and bring them back aboard. I don't expect many of the black clergy will compromise.

Although he can try to intimidate/shame them because they have a moral stance on something (and, of course, it's always just about skin color with him), Sharpton can't actually stalk all these reverends into their private voting booths, so he'll never know how they vote anyway. The convicted reverends won't sway.

His lecturing may have been directed at the black clergy, but it was also within earshot of black voters. If the clergy can't be turned, he hopes that the flock will here him and some of them will stay loyal to Obama.

Isn't it ironic that the very Leftist crowd that praises the inherent goodness of diversity doesn't recognize independent thought? One is expected to think according to a set of standards and attitudes associated to a group they assign one to based on skin color, gender, age, ethnicity, etc.
This is why they fear Palin, Clarence Thomas, Marco Rubio, and other conservatives who reject the assignment and are succeed with the Left. They are role models that the Left must destroy lest their group think game disintegrate.

I agree. And with the horrific bondage of freedom that is part of our U.S. history, it is so sadly ironic that any African American would not have the utmost respect in letting others of their race think and do as they choose. To try to coerce, intimidate, wrestle or shame that individual freedom away from other African Americans is like mentally trying to put chains back on them. It's disgraceful.

He really doesn't care about how the Pastors vote, he cares what they say and how they sway their congregations.
Unfortunately I think the Black Church as a whole has already sold it's soul for Obama anyway as far as a moral stance verses race goes.
When you've already shrugged off his extreme stance on abortion which includes allowing surviving babies to be left alone to die, it's a bit hypocritical to rant about his stand on sexual perversity.

Plantation life

This is probably going to get me in trouble, but in all honesty, I don't care because it's the truth.
This "pastor" Burns must have been born and raised on a plantation because there's no way a real pastor/preacher/whatever would think this way. Especially a black guy unless they don't have a desire to be free. Free from what, one might say? Well, from oppression of the dems, of whom the KKK were part of, and any sort of race-related thing going on. Good grief, look at all the comments the dems have said in the last few years ALONE and the blacks aren't saying "boo" about it.
That's why I honestly don't believe they really care about freedom....of any kind. Even personal freedom. And to say that Free Market Economics is worse than gay marriage(which is a misnomer) is just outright balderdash and that guy if he had any scruples should be ashamed of himself for saying it.
And I get heart-sore for all the whites who try to bend over backwards to "make things right" only to have it spat back in their faces. There's got to be a time when it's time to quit doing it, do you have to wait for the hand to be bitten off totally before you realize they will always "bite the hand" that feeds them?

Methinks Rev. Burns doesn't
Submitted by Ken Shepherd on Thu, 05/17/2012 - 9:42am.
Methinks Rev. Burns doesn't get exactly what a free market is. A free market is a marketplace that lacks artificial (read: government-imposed) barriers to entry or exit. A free market is a marketplace where, to the extent there are regulations, are minimal in nature and equally-applied. An unfree or rigged market is one where the market regulator, i.e., the government, is using its regulatory power in an abusive and/or favoritistic manner.
So for example, when the government uses subsidies to prop up alternative energy firms that are not otherwise economically feasible, that's a violation of free market principles. Ditto when the government places onerous regulations and taxation on economically-successful firms as part of a social or economic policy meant to punish politically incorrect success (think windfall profits on oil companies, etc.).

This is only from Wiki, but I looked it up for you. Get this:
"Sharpton was licensed and ordained a Pentecostal minister by Bishop F.D. Washington at the age of nine[75] or ten.[76] After Bishop Washington's death in the late 1980s, Sharpton became a Baptist. He was re-baptized as a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in 1994 by the Reverend William Jones[30] and became a Baptist minister."[75][77]

He also warmed us about another Jesus. 2 Cor 11:4. I am convinced that Sharpton and his ilk are teaching this other Jesus and this other gospel, social gospel.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 2 Timothy 4:3 Homosexuality is based on lust not the love that is described in the Bible between a man and woman as they claim.
The more that I read and study Paul's letters the more I realize that what he warned about in the 1st century is alive and well today. False prophets, another gospel, another Jesus, false teachers.

sometime ago. According to Wiki, he preached his first sermon at four. He was ordained in a Pentecostal church at about nine. Later he became a baptist. For a while was James Brown's manager. He has never pastored a church. He barely made it out of high school. He has no college or formal seminary or otherwise religious or theological training. He is an uneducated, ignorant, tax evading bum who has spent his whole life looking for a scam, all the while using the name of Jesus to do it. But his day is coming. As a "minister" he will be held accountable for all this. Scripture gives requirements for ministers, and he doesnt meet any of them.

Al is the guy Margaret Sanger said was needed to shepherd the agenda:
"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with
social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most
successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal.
We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro
population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if
it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members."

Al Sharpton has been an effective shill for the liberal agenda to the detriment of Blacks. Liberalism has greatly harmed Blacks but people like Sharpton being bought and paid for by liberals sold out their brethren for silver just like Judas. Hand outs don't make you middle class or rich, it just keeps you poor. In order to become middle class or rich you have to have the drive, discipline and education to leave poverty behind and that doesn't happen by accepting Food Stamps, HOC, WIC, Medicaid and rejecting the father of your child to be a single mother. Notice all of which Al Sharpton advocates.

However, I doubt he has even opend a bible. So as a minister myself, I have these words for Al:
Jude 1:12-15
Apostates Depraved and Doomed
12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about[c] by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. 14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, 15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
And one more for Al.
2 Corinthians 5
The Judgment Seat of Christ
9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.
Al, as a minister of the Gospel you should know God is immutable. He does not change. He certainly will not change to suit YOU. So you cant say you havent been warned.
