CNN Lifts Suspension of GLAAD-Blessed Roland Martin
After five weeks with his nose turned to the corner, CNN is withdrawing the suspension of liberal political analyst Roland Martin for Super Bowl Sunday tweets that offended the gay censorship lobby. CNN is apparently pleased with Martin's sackcloth-and-ashes apology tour with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Martin met with GLAAD lobbyist (and former CNN producer) Herndon Graddick on Valentine's Day.
Fishbowl DC reported late Monday that "CNN staff was alerted today on the 10 am conference call that Roland Martin's suspension has been lifted." He no doubt pleased GLAAD by complaining on Twitter Monday that no one had a sense of humor who was "tripping" at the show "GCB." He said Christians should "lighten up." The show could not be made if it was titled "Good Gay Bitches."
He added, "The argument of Christians that Hollywood always mocks them is undercut by other Christian-themed TV shows. This is a faux controversy". When I asked Martin if his wife the Rev. Jacquie Hood Martin objected or if the "bitches" title was okay because there were no black actresses in ABC's gang of "bitches," he only replied, "Nope. I get satire. But go ahead and knock yourself out, dude."

last evening via Twitter- after he joined in on a conversation Noel and I were having about Randy Moss. For those who care to know, Moss was signed by the 49ers yesterday and Noel is a niners fan. I inquired as to his thoughts on the signing. Martin was polite throughout, though I wonder if his demeanor wasn't affected by his recent suspension.
I can't without reasonable doubt assign a motive to his decision to join in on this conversation, though it occurred to me that Martin may have been looking for racism where none existed. He was intrigued by the "thug" assessment Of Moss offered by Noel and tried to defend Moss against this characterisation. Noel was on his game though and obviously knew enough about Moss's history to substantiate his opinion. Martin seemed to bow out shortly thereafter. I was referencing Moss's history of lockerroom distraction as a potential issue for the niners.
Anyway, brief non-specific but topical anecdote on the afforementioned Roland Martin. Now back to your regular programming.

This dude makes a blunder about gays and all it takes is for him to meet with GLAAD and he is back at CNN? Maybe it will apease the Liberals in the media if Rush had a beer moment (you know like the one Obama had in Cambridge, Massachusetts) with the Fluke to discuss contraception and women healthcare so that Rush is forgiven for his non-comedic comments.
