LA Radio Hosts Suspended for 'Crack Ho' Whitney Houston Remarks

AP reported that Los Angeles radio station KFI suspended talkers John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou, the hosts of the "John and Ken Show," for "making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston," it said in a statement Thursday. They repeatedly called her a "crack ho." They apologized, but some lefties want to take this opportunity to get them completely removed from the radio.

The National Hispanic Media Coalition said John and Ken "promote hate speech and appealed to listeners to call and harass an advocate for immigrant rights about state legislation to give financial aid to illegal immigrant college students."

"A temporary suspension is not enough," Alex Nogales, president and CEO of NHMC, said in a statement. "How many times do John and Ken get to spew their hate, apologize and then do it again after taking off a long weekend? KFI must permanently remove John and Ken from the air. Los Angeles deserves better."

The "Take John and Ken Off the Air" page at Change.org has about 1600 signatures at posting time. They've been previously tagged as "hate speech" hosts by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center.

My head is spinning

I didn't know Whitney Houston was a Chicano. Actually, I didn't know just about anything about her. And I thought it was supposed to be 'Hispanic'. Or is that now offensive?

Only from the standpoint that these same race-grievance obsessed crybabies boogaloo up against each other to the music of Nikki Minaj who insults  women and black people with "Ho" and "Nigga" and "nigga monkey"

Somehow Nikki Minaj don't be doin' no hate-speech.

Tough luck, John and Ken.  You thought you could talk gutter like the dwellers.

What is so weird

Submitted by Tugboat Phil on Sun, 02/19/2012 - 10:59am.

is that almost every day these guys say stuff that's much more offensive (and hilarious) than this. I'm guessing that because it's LA and the entertainment crowd is concentrated there, the heat got to be too much for management.

I listen to their podcast on occasion and they spare no politician from the worst of ridicule. However, it's always deserved ridicule. This just seemed a little tame by comparison. Speaking of KFI AM 640, it's one of only 3 radio stations linked from Drudge.

Right after John & Ken each evening is Tim Conway jr. Yes, the son of THAT Tim Conway. He is hilarious and every Thursday night at 8pm PST and 11pm EST, he has a game show called What The Hell Did Jesse Jackson Say? He plays actual audio clips of JJ speaking what may or may not be English, and callers try to determine what he said. It's a hoot!

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

Let's play goldbar!

Submitted by Cool Arrow on Sun, 02/19/2012 - 11:43am.

A resident troll, likes to pop up with his present tense taunt "Palin is a quitter"

Let's start with Whitney.  Too late to say she is one, but she was a crack addict.  But there is no evidence she is, or was a Ho.  Many people fight addictions and die, others conquer it.  I'm finding it hard to condemn Whitney Houston because of her personal weakness.

Maya Angelou, on the other hand, is not a crack addict.  But according to goldbar logic, Maya Angelou is a Ho.  Not only that, Maya Angelou sells young girls to men for the purpose of sex.  Never mind she quit pimping years ago, goldbar logic says Maya Angelou sells Hos and is herself, a Ho.

Now Maya Angelou (an admitted Ho and madam), says of President Obama's "deserved" reelection "I will tell you we will see some nasty, some vulgarity, I think. They will pull the sheets.  Nothing nasty or vulgar there, right, Maya?

Full disclosure:  I have never sold a young black girl into whoredom.  Maya Angelou has.

I'm pretty sure that the

I'm pretty sure that the evidence proves that Whitney Houston WAS a 'crack ho', as well as being wrapped up in all sorts of other substance abuse..........but I guess that since she was 'black' (so why is the Latino community all bent out of shape??), you can't really bring it up. Of course, if she were 'white', I doubt if you'd see this firestorm...............plus, what 'color' are the guys on the radio who were doing the talking?? That probably comes into play too.

What kind of media response would be see and hear if , say- a guy like Ted Nugent died?? Do you think they would be reporting his musical career???

Teach your children well

Daily Beast is reporting Whitney's Daughter snuck off during the ceremonies to get high.

I think most of us can agree praying for the living is a good thing.  How about we try it?

I will include her in my prayers.  Hope you will too.
