MSNBC's Ed Schultz Speaks of His 'Boss' Obama, Then Appears at House Democrat Retreat

By Tim Graham | January 25, 2012 | 23:23

Ed Schultz wasn’t kidding about his State of the Union affinities when he asserted on his radio show Tuesday that “I'll be in the Rotunda tonight, listening to the boss, rootin' for him, if you know what I mean.” He did not mean MSNBC boss Phil Griffin.

Schultz and CNN’s Paul Begala are participating Wednesday night in a House Democrat “Reignite the American Dream” retreat at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina in Cambridge, Maryland. Chris Ariens at TVNewser reported on Wednesday “We’re told MSNBC executives gave Schultz prior approval to participate. Schultz will also conduct an on-site interview with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi which will air on his show tomorrow night.”

John Stanton of Roll Call reported Wednesday evening's festivities are highlighted by an "American Voices Panel" that includes CNN and Newsweek contributor Paul Begala and "the leaders of several Democratic-leaning interest groups.” Meanwhile, “MSNBC host Ed Schultz will participate in a panel on Minority Whip Steny Hoyer's (Md.) ‘Make it in America’ plan."

Stanton added that the resort's website touts amenities including “pampering spa treatments, golf, sailing, fishing and swimming … [and] delicious meals in our many Cambridge, Maryland hotel resort restaurants.” It's not exactly sleeping in a tent with the rats at Occupy DC.

In addition to his "boss" comment about President Obama, Schultz also dropped these nuggets on his Tuesday radio show:

-- "And what is so bastardly terrible [yes -- "bastardly terrible"] about this is that once they [Republicans] get power, they come up a legislative agenda that attacks the very people that are paying the highest rate -- the wage earners."

-- "No one is trying to take anything from Mitt Romney or any other wealthy person. We just think here on the left that there is such a thing as earned income and unearned income. Income is income because you can't have income unless you have money."

Thank you, Tim.

My life is so much richer, not having to watch this buffoon. You should make sure and not watch his show too many nights in a row. It could cause permanent brain damage.

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

Why are we surprised? I'm

Submitted by okie-pastor on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 12:08am.

Why are we surprised?

I'm more surprised that Mitt Romney seems to be Matt Drudges boss.
Drudge Report overlooks the fact Romney did the exact same thing in criticism of Reagan. What is this love affair with moderate republicans (Mitt Romney, John McCain)?

Fred Thompson, Sarah Palin, and I believe Rush Limbaugh, and even Michael Reagan are all for Gingrich. I like their conservative views as opposed to Chris Christie, who supports gun control, or John Mccain who lost to Obama already who are backing Romney.

I don't think the House Dems

Submitted by Ken Shepherd on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 12:36am.

I don't think the House Dems would find most Cambridge residents lining up to vote for Obama's reelection. It's a fairly conservative area of Maryland. But then, of course, I don't they'll spend much time rubbing shoulders with locals.

the riff-raff out, while the anointed leaders are there.

I'm shocked that the Dems aren't holding this in a soup kitchen in D.C.  OK, I can't even type that with a straight face.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

Reignite The American dream?? Isn't it more like Burn America To The Ground?

The American Dream used to mean you could start a business on a shoestring budget with lots of elbow grease and plenty of hours of effort, now it requires a team of expensive lawyers to jump through the hoops put in your way by the government. And that's just the beginning.

why i don't have cable

Submitted by OuttaMyWay on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 8:38am.

every house that has cable has to pay msnbc either a quarter or a buck a month.

that is why they don't care about their ratings.

That is why i am glad i don't have it.

think about that the next time your cable bill comes.

isnt that the phrase (or very similar) Obama's commie Van Jones is using now?

I'd love to hear from the staff what kind of tippers these guys are. I'm guessing not good, based on their gifts to charity.

His master's voice...

Submitted by Pilgrim1949 on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 11:57am.

Private (demoted-from-Sergeant) Schultzie just continues to prove that he's every bit like the dog in the old RCA commercial, obediently sitting there, listening intently to his master's voice....and to the coded, dog-whistle instructions the Master issues to his drone minions.

Woof.

Oh no, would you look at that? Now he's tinkled down his leg and it's puddling on the floor.

Bad dog, bad, baaaad dog!
