Daily Kos: China, Saudi Arabia Will Fund Incoming Republican Dictatorship to Crush Occupiers

By Tim Graham | November 18, 2011 | 22:21

A  A
Tim Graham's picture

The next time you hear liberals mourning that today's conservative movement has no William F. Buckleyesque figure to banish the right-wing wackos to the fever swamps, just remember what passes for left-wing political thought at the Daily Kos. Last year, the Kosmonaut known as "Troubadour" predicted things were going to go very badly after the midterm elections: "Win or lose this election season, Republicans appear to be headed on a one-way path to organized political violence."

This has apparently been proven by police suppression of the Occupy Wall Street protests, and next the liberals should watch out for the "the internet blacklist bill" and the "the internet kill switch" if Republicans take power in 2013. Full-blown GOP dictatorship is around the corner:

It's worse than you think.  With the evolution of Occupy Wall Street, the threat that made George W. Bush reticent to go for full-blown dictatorship is now out of the bag: People are actively resisting and disrupting the money and power structure that underlies the Republican Party and, sadly, major portions of our own party - structures that now completely define the ideology, rhetoric, and policies of a huge proportion of our government without even a pretense of addressing the American people.

We are resisting this state of affairs with increasing sophistication, volume, and success, while government institutions are flailing to stop us without even pretending to address our grievances.  But all of what we do is dependent on a few, fragile liberties and lines of communication that a sufficiently ruthless, shameless, and desperate regime could easily shatter.

Troubadour asks the reader to imagine massive infusions of foreign capital into evil Republican bank accounts:

So I ask you to imagine the following the scenario: Unlimited campaign cash flows into the 2012 election courtesy of Citizens United, and Wall Street allies with the national revenues (and possibly intelligence information) of China and Saudi Arabia to fund and otherwise support the Republican Party.  The lukewarm or stingy corporate money flowing to centrist Democrats does not come anywhere close, even in concert with large numbers of small donations going to progressive Democrats.

The businesses that own the media openly collude to suffocate any attempt to introduce progressive issues into the debate, slander Democrats shamelessly, and promote outright lies bandied about by Republican candidates.  Big Lies on a level not seen since the lead-up to the Iraq War are promoted in lockstep, and Democrats are practically made to prove their membership in the human species while Republicans could club baby seals on national TV and be effusively praised for their patriotic heroism.  Most of the Democrats do not have Barack Obama's remarkable ability to overcome such propaganda, and drown in it.

You have to giggle especially hard at the corporate media slandering Obama shamelessly. When has that ever happened? Anyone remember Disney-owned ABC airing the seven-part documentary on Obama the Secret  Muslim? But somehow, the Left must unite against the fascist regime just itching to form once the Republican Party takes the White  House:

Without the street, the government side of progressive politics becomes what it has been - weak and feckless.  Without liberal control of the government, the street is nothing more than a convenient place to round up and dispose of dissent.

Now, that doesn't mean the people are doomed if governments become dictatorial - the Arab Spring has repeatedly proven otherwise.  But they had the benefit of social media existing outside the control of their governments - if America becomes one giant police kettle, there will be no external recourse.  I for one would rather avoid the detour into Pinochet-land.  To the greatest extent possible, we must unite the OWS clans for a progressive Democratic sweep.

At least this distraught Troubadour is loaded with knowledge of his own limitations, as he recently blogged in a Chris Farleyesque fashion:

I am not leadership material.  I am unreliable as a member of any kind of delicate new organization, except perhaps as an adviser at arm's length.  The more comfortable I am with people, the more likely I am to blindly step on them.  I do not respond appropriately in a timely manner to sudden and emotionally fraught new information.

Who said we couldn't find common ground?

If not THE funniest posts ever on NB.

This poor deranged soul apparently really believes this stuff - either that or he's a comic genius.

Why on earth would China support Republicans in upcoming elections? Has this person not heard that OWS has been endorsed and praised by China, Iran, and Venezuela?

Why on earth would China supress the Marxist-leaning OWS movement?

Just hilarious comic gold delusional paranoia. And the idea of the media teaming up to conspire against Obama and the Dems, is so absurdly inverted that you have to wonder just how severe his cognitive dissonance really is.

"Increasing sophistication"?

Submitted by LinTaylor on Fri, 11/18/2011 - 10:49pm.

This article is like a fresh Thanksgiving turkey: full of delicious morsels just waiting to be picked. I'll leave most of it to y'all, but I wanted to single out this line:

"We are resisting this state of affairs with increasing sophistication, volume, and success"

So apparently crapping on cars, throwing around ethnic slurs, and threatening violence upon people you don't like is sophisticated. This kind of makes me want to find whatever dictionary Liberals use, just so I can go through it and see what other fun definitions they have. We already know that their definition of "sane" is Michael Moore.

Submitted by Clevenative on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 10:11am.

So you’re telling us that inciting violence isn’t in the right wing playbook?

You’re telling us that portraying the OWS movement as just a bunch of lazy, uneducated, druggies, rapists, and immoral violent criminals is an accurate representation?

There are countless KNOWN episodes in history where it was later found that the violence that erupted from otherwise peaceful demonstrations and show of dissent from “the left” was orchestrated by the right wing Republican administration or “think tank” of the day. It’s just what you do – what you have always done – and what you will continue to do in regards to the OWS movement.

You don’t condone the violence – you welcome it. You need fuel for your picture of demonization and the rest of the propaganda you use to amass support against anything that threatens your status quo. Unfortunately the people usually don’t learn the truth until after the fact - and so, as usual, your lies are always a win-win.

You continue to pride yourself in doing the only thing you are really good at.

Liberal media is supporting the movement, actively distorting the video-taped reality of what the protestors are doing. You say this is portraying the OWS movement in a negative light. I think you are full of it, and the videos show exactly what the OWS protestors are.

Let's talk about a KNOWN [known in your terminology, although unsupported, unproven or documented] episode in history: Tea Party being blamed for using racial slurs as Pelosi walked her giant gavel through Washington to sign a massive mistake into law. There is a bounty being offered for PROOF of the racial slurs being uttered. No takers. No proof. Makes me think that it didn't happen. Compare that to actual deaths, actual violence, rapes, and a host of other real, currently occurring, video-taped activities by the OWS protestors [take a dump in the street, anyone?].

I do however respect your attempt at verbal judo. Even though it doesn't work.

As for OWS, you can have them lock, stock and barrel. Invite them over to your neighborhood to hang out.

Fortunately, some of our protesting brothers and sisters have caught on to these nefarious activities and have learned to counter them by staying baked all day, defecating and urinating in public and by forming drum circles.

With more pot, pooping and pounding a new day will dawn - and I for one will welcome our new alien overlords when that day comes.

Exclusive: Lobbying Firm's Memo Spells Out Plan to Undermine Occupy Wall Street

A well-known Washington lobbying firm with links to the financial industry has proposed an $850,000 plan to take on Occupy Wall Street and politicians who might express sympathy for the protests, according to a memo obtained by the MSNBC program “Up w/ Chris Hayes.”
[...]
The memo also suggests that Democratic victories in 2012 should not be the ABA’s biggest concern. “… (T)he bigger concern,” the memo says, “should be that Republicans will no longer defend Wall Street companies.”

If you really think that your key to victory in 2012 is to continue to "defend Wall Street companies" you're way too intoxicated from your own Kool Aid to even have a lucid conversation about it.

Domestic Terrorism: Notes on the State System of Oppression

Over the years, the oppression has come from both sides of aisle - and often been squelched by even the "liberal media". But Nixon was over-the-top when it came to covert acts of illegal surveillance and support of incidents designed to incite violence. He had plenty willing to do his dirty work under the guise of "patriotism". Ditto for Reagan and the Bush's.

Thanks to recent upswing and acceptance of far-right "leaders" and "think-tanks" into today's Republican ranks, The John Birch society is alive and well. And McCartyism is a "way of life" for the right. They LIVE for creating the boogeymen to keep Americans barking up the wrong tree while they use the violence created, under the guise of "law and order", to rip apart the Constitution and rob Americans of even more rights.

Who is denying that "illegals" live in Texas or that drug trafficking adds to violence in border towns? Did I suggest ANY of that?

I’m was specifically talking about the bogus rumor of a July 2010 “Loredo Texas invasion” by Mexican drug gangs that the right-wing media ran with for days.

As your favorite "conservative misinformation" watchdog group research reported...

The Jawa Reportin a July 24 post stated that the rumor "should be the headline story put out by the American media. The idea that drug cartel raiding parties are attacking and seizing territory inside the United States is major." The blog went on to state, "It's unforgivable that this story isn't being reported by the elite media."

The Examiner DC blog also ran with the rumor, writing, "In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas."

Michelle Malkin originally reported that "rumors are swirling of a Zetas-led invasion into Texas ranches."

Andrew Breitbart's Big Peace website linked to the Examiner post, adding that the "story is now 100% confirmed by second source within the Laredo Police Department."

Just one example of wingnut "tin foil hat" LIES.

Wait, don't answer.

Read from your statement, above, the bolded parts.  (The non-bolded parts are items in your series of "conspiracy theories", beginning with Birthers, and ending with "Mexicans 'invading' Texas border towns.)

And, knowing the sharpness of some of my friends down there who help out with the activities, one of them might have 'accidentally' held your dumb looking face underwater for just long enough for you to beg for a little mercy and show a little humility............something that you appear to be void of, even though you don't have the common sense or intelligence to back up your arrogance or self-absorbed delusional ego.

That type of illogical extrapolation makes you look like a paranoid idiot.

The real question is are there other folks that have engaged in a organized effort to get "their side of the story" out to the citizens? Of course there is. We are seeing them on the streets of our nation right now.

They have received support from friendly local politicians that have allowed them to gather in public places while requiring them to get neither a permit nor to have liability insurance, something that is required by law. Those same political entities have required strict adherence to these same laws when political groups they disagree have sought to engage in similar activities.

You site a single memo from a group of people whose source of income, their very job, is derived from representing the interests of large groups of people and businesses and from that and that alone you attempt to defend this meandering yarn of conspiracy and back door deals that would lead to a Republican dictatorship.

Yet in the same vein you have attempted to dismiss the lawless behavior surrounding the OWS movements decrying those that would paint the activities of, as you have described them, fringe elements as endemic to the movement as a whole.

On the other hand though you spin a wild eyed yarn about Republicans and their influence on the recent would be Presidential assassin implying that his belief that President Obama was the anti-Christ was planted by Republicans insinuating the same thing and as proof you offer the signs of a few "fringe elements" loosely associated with the TEA party and then attempt to paint this activity as endemic of the movement as a whole.

All in all you have presented those of here with a shining example of Liberal Dumba$$ery.

Kudos to you sir.

You really want me to believe this is a isolated incident?

Submitted by Clevenative on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 11:02pm.

My friends at politicususa summed this one up nicely – they also have screen shots of the memos.

John Boehner’s Lobbyists Plan A Massive Hit Job On Occupy Wall Street

In short, they are going to run a smear campaign that would use the same Fox News talking points that haven’t worked so far. They are going to claim that George Soros is funding Occupy Wall Street, and that the movement is being run by the Democratic Party. Most troubling is their plan to carry surveillance on social media. They are going to monitor the social media used by OWS and what they intend to do that the memo didn’t directly state was spam social media with anti-Occupy Wall Street propaganda.

They won’t only use social media to monitor the message and tactics of Occupy Wall Street. They will try to infiltrate these social networks to disrupt the movement and plant smears against OWS. This is a favorite GOP tactic that goes right in line with their use of paid commenters to spam websites with pro-GOP messages.

By obtaining this memo and reporting on it, Chris Hayes and MSNBC made it likely that this campaign will never see the light of day. The memo does expose a very troubling development. The one percent is so worried about Occupy Wall Street that they are preparing to merge their financial, political and media resources into a giant propaganda campaign in order to halt this movement.

This memo is the most concrete evidence yet that Occupy Wall Street is winning and the one percent is terrified that the movement’s message is powerfully resonating with the American people. The greatest irony of all is that the OWS message would have never been this effective if the Republican Party wouldn’t have spent the last three years trying to sabotage the American economy.

The economic despair that they worked so hard to maintain may be the very thing that defeats them in 2012. Occupy Wall Street is their way to changing America, and there seems to be little that the one percent and their paid political puppets can do about it.
--------------------

And I'm sure the "liberal media" will let the public know of "the plan". They're on to you, and the American people are too. It will be interesting to see how they handle the moles and Little Angry Andy Gayboy and his sidekick Boy Wonders. But they're one step ahead already - they got the Bat Signal. LOL (look it up)

All it is is strategies to protect their own interests. Do they not have the right to look out for themselves? And where exactly is Boehner implicated. I mean, we already knew Chris Hayes was a partisan nutjob, and MSNBC is just cheerleaders for all things liberal, but outright making stuff up like that makes them look like tinfoil hat conspiracy crackpots.

Where in the memo is this 'smear job' those dipsticks at Politics USA are talking about anyway? Smear jobs involve outright lies like, oh, for example, claiming the the Tea Party is racist or just corporate astroturf. The memo clearly states anything they say about OWS is fact based.

Apparently you're scared of people learning too many facts about OWS.

I aspire to be a good little wingnut idiot mind-numbed robot and a right-wing whacko, but I still am not sure of all the rules and regulations involved.

I'm sure that if you look on the back cover, it will give the address.............and it's probably stuffed in your backpack, right next to your well-worn copy of Saul Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals'...........................although in your case, it should be renamed 'Instructions for Idiots'...............or 'Programs for Paranoia'.

I dunno,

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 2:16pm.

I dunno, Clevie-Poo.............I feel pretty good today, as usual. There's nothing that you say that 'hurts' me - my main problem with you as that your an unmitigated asshole, and also because everywhere I go to read some news or conversation, you've left some steaming pile of human excrement for people to either step in, walk around, or try and clean up. You wouldn't know 'truth' if it hit you between the eyes.

Now, I'm going to play some music and help my friends and other volunteers give a lot of handicapped kids and adults a nice day at the beach, and even get some of these unfortunate people into the water and catching some small waves. And I don't even care if they are Republicans or Democrats, liberal or conservatives, gay or straight or bi, or any other damn category that you seem to get hung up in. And I'll tell you one more thing, meat - there will be more 'races' down there at the beach today than you may have ever seen in your pathetic little life. What are you doing today, meat?? I'll bet that when I come back - many hours from now - you will have posted numerous more insults and contentios statements and delusional comments..........................I thought you had a life, meat. Didn't you say that you had 'fertile fishing grounds' with regards to your wide and varied interests in life??? Seems to me that you sit around your 'union job' and find whatever you can on the internet that suits your narrow little mindset, just so you can show up here and try to be some kind of player......................

K-God...For the record,

Submitted by Jer on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 10:14pm.

I have expressed in only one post my opinion of the comments of Clevenative [with which I was familiar at the time], and in that post I offered a degree of support but mostly negative criticism. Nor did my support endorse any particular claim of Cleve.

So when you say "I don't think even YOU can defend Clevenative here", your implication is very misleading.

True story, Jer..........I

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 10:14pm.

True story, Jer..........I think you called him out on his contentious and arrogant attitude - and that was about it. And you were right about that. I see the guys' been here all day, being an asshole - but I guess that is his everyday personality - and he doesn't appear to have anything better to do either.

I think that's about right, killa...

Submitted by Jer on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 10:45pm.

As I recall, I said his comments [and I probably should have noted that my opinion was based on having read only a fraction of his posts] indicated intelligence, knowledge, and an ability to sustain an argument. [Obviously, I'm aware that nearly everyone here disagrees with that assessment.]

But I was also extremely critical of his tone, his immediately manifested in-your-face contentiousness and condescension, and that his tenure at NB would be a short one unless he were willing to make changes in his behavior.

Well, Jer, old buddy - I

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 11/19/2011 - 11:06pm.

Well, Jer, old buddy - I wouldn't bet any money on ol' Clevie-Poo 'changing his behavior'............he's a lot like his Boy Barry - too self-absorbed and brainwashed and narcississic to know anything beyond what he thinks to be 'truth' - and, if you read Clevie's posts, he'll tell you that he's the ONLY one around here who knows anything about the 'truth'. Hell, Jer, I think the guy is even smarter than you are - just ask him!!!!

You really don't think that 'asshole' is a 'bad' word, do you?? I guess I could say 'okole puka'...........which is 'okole=rear end' and 'puke=hole'??? Would that work???

My suggestion?

From here on end, use the word "Clevenative." In my mind, it's even more offensive than the f bomb. ;)
