Stephanie Miller: Vandalizing Reagan Statue 'One of America's Funniest Liberal Pranks'
The Los Angeles Times reports "Police are searching for a man who tried to knock down a Ronald Reagan statue Sunday morning. Newport Beach Police received a call about 5:30 a.m. Sunday of a vandalism in progress at Bonita Canyon Sports Park on Bonita Canyon Drive. A witness said a man in dark clothes tried to attach a chain to the base of the statue. The chain was connected to the back of his pickup and he appeared to be trying to pull the statue down."
On the Stephanie Miller radio show on Monday, Miller said this act of vandalism "is one of America's funniest liberal pranks." Yet everyone knows Miller the reflexive partisan would get the vapors if anyone tried to damage the "Little Barry Obama" statue in Indonesia.
Miller was talking to one of her regular guests, actress Edie McClurg (best known as Ed Rooney's secretary in Ferris Bueller's Day Off). They were mocking how much conservatives love Reagan:
EDIE McCLURG: Now they had the they had the big Iowa Republican Party hosting their Ronald Reagan dinner up there in Iowa. Very important state one would say. Who didn’t show up? Mitt Romney. Jon Huntsman. Herman Cain.
MILLER: Oh no oh God you can’t disrespect the Reagan.
MCCLURG: No!
MILLER: Oh, by the way, speaking of disrespecting the Reagan, this is one of America’s funniest liberal pranks.
CHRIS LAVOIE, Miller sidekick: Oh yeah in Newport Beach vandals vandalized the Ronald Reagan statue and made it lean left. Seriously. That really happened.
MILLER: Normally I don’t like prank humor. I’m just saying that’s kind of a good one if you had to do a prank.
Stephanie Miller doesn't pay respect to anyone unless she is worshiping at the altar of Barack Obama and his many wondrous deeds. Miller is currently on a "Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour," in which she's explained "It’s sexy to be liberal because you’re empathetic and open-minded." Does that explain getting out the pom-poms for ripping statues down?
UPDATE: On Tuesday morning's program, the Miller crew mocked a response from someone who cited NewsBusters:

MILLER: Oh really, yeah, they made it lean to the left a little bit

MILLER: No I wasn’t. I was just reporting a story about they made the statue lean to the left, which we’re not usually for prank humor. I’m just saying it was a little... funny.

Well, I have to admit that I've actually LISTENED to Stephanie Miller before.....she is on some replay in the evenings around here, and sometimes when I am driving home after surfing until dark, I will listen for the 15-20 minute drive from the beach to my house. Don't EVEN ask me why I would do such a thing - after being out in the ocean with the sky and the mountains and the wind and the waves and the natural beauty and spiritual feeling.........hey, I'm not 'normal', OK???
But I can tell you that I haven't learned ONE THING from listening to her.......or her partner, or her guests, or any other part of her program - other than reaffirming my belief and conviction that liberals are mentally inbalanced!!! She is like some kind of ADD grade-schooler..........and her partner/producer is basically in the same category. And they are ALL OVER THE PLACE with their subject matter.............I swear, you have to be ADD yourself to follow them!!!

The story line sounds corny but it actually was a very good book but to be honest I'll read anything from Dan Simmons even though he is still best known for his old Sci-Fi books but he writes and researches very well in just about every genre.
The Black Hills is an extremely well researched book with a lot of historical references about a young Sioux that takes on the spirit of Custer while counting coup at Little Big Horn, sees the settling of the west and the turning of Black Hills (sacred to the Sioux) into Mount Rushmore. He eventually goes to work for and befriends Gutzon Borglum in an effort to blow the faces off of Mount Rushmore as a last sign of defiance for his people.
The dual perspective is extremely interesting.

Yeah, I guess if you're a high schooler out for a fun night of random vandalism.....because it's that kind of mentality that thinks this kind of thing is funny. Liberals are great at name calling and hypocritical finger pointing, dissent as patriotic when they engage in it and racism when they do not, the argumentum ad hominem, judicial activism/legislation, distorting and subverting the constitution, reducing conservative women to whores and black conservatives to ignorant house servants and Aunt Jemima's, the politics of personal destruction and false, contrived outrage and now I guess vandalism; they're just lousy at the real important grown up things like mutual respect and governing. My Dad's a Democrat and I can't talk to him about any issues of the day without him turning red and spewing invective, there's absolutely no discussing any politics unless I tip toe around his Liberal sensibilities and the Liberal narrative is accepted and reinforced. My mother-in-law is a Democrat and I don't think she even knows why. She's a staunch catholic who must not see how Liberal promotion of abortion and gay marriage runs counter to the precepts of her own faith. Cognitive dissonance writ large. Liberalism is an intellectual dead end and I thank God every day that I have not bought in to such a distorted and unrealistic world view. A view that has diminished and skewed and damaged what this nation was built upon. I have the same parent trouble, telecaster. I cannot even talk about politics or even societal issues without some blow-up of some kind. Even an absolute fact, such as the deficit or the Solyndra loan fiasco is met with either "But Bush..!" or hands on the ears "No,No,No,No...".
