Amazing: WaPo Fails to Publish Own Poll on ObamaCare's Lowest Popularity Ever

A new ABC-Washington Post poll found ObamaCare sunk to its lowest popularity yet: 52 percent opposed, and only 43 percent in favor. ABC mentioned the poll without fanfare at the end of a Jake Tapper report on Monday’s World News, and Tapper added this was the health law's "lowest level of popularity ever." But Tuesday’s Washington Post reported not one sentence on the poll in the paper – even as they reported in the paper that the same survey found Obama’s tax-and-unemployment-compensation deal has “broad bipartisan support.”

This is the same Post that highlighted the news on Page One on October 20, 2009, when they found a “clear majority” in favor of a socialist “public option” -- amid charges they oversampled Democrats.

The numbers weren't excluded because they arrived late. The Post poll numbers went up on the website yesterday at about 1 pm, under the headline “Health care opponents divided on repeal.” That obscured the numbers a bit, as Cohen found a “slim majority” (not a “clear majority”?) currently oppose ObamaCare:

Overall, 52 percent of those polled oppose the overhaul to the health care system, 43 percent are supportive of it. Fully 86 percent of Republicans are against the legislation; 67 percent of Democrats support it. Independents divide down the middle, with 47 percent in favor and the same number opposed.

Cohen made no mention of that phrase "lowest level of popularity ever." He did try to suggest that the individual mandate was wildly unpopular -- implying other parts of ObamaCare are still worth keeping:

Among the general public, the Kaiser poll showed 68 percent supportive of a repeal of the individual mandate. Of four core components of the health care law tested in the poll, the individual mandate was the one with the highest negatives, by far. Seventy percent of all those polled said they held an unfavorable view of the requirement that everyone carry insurance, including 52 percent who had "strongly unfavorable" opinions.

The omission of the new poll was so stunning, we double-checked. Obviously, the Post reported Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's win in federal court, with a ruling that found ObamaCare's individual mandate unconstitutional, but that story by Rosalind Helderman and Amy Goldstein never included Post poll numbers -- even as the story ended with the notiong:

Altman, of the Kaiser foundation, said Monday's ruling would, in the long run, prove less significant to the law's fate than the overall political climate. "There are going to be a lot of twists and turns," he said. "Ultimately, if President Obama is reelected in 2012, the law will be pretty much as it is." A change in administration, he said, could pose the biggest threat.

So if today's "political climate" is more important than a judge's decision, where is the Post poll? It looks like a very bizarre case of poll-and-hide.

WaPo only published results

Submitted by forest on Tue, 12/14/2010 - 3:40pm.

WaPo only published results to half the questions and polled "adults" without mention of partisan breakdown.

And as for Kaiser, their polling suddenly showed a lack of support of Obamacare two months ago when they stopped sampling +12 Democrat.

These organizations are corrupt.

Kaiser

Submitted by Phryj1 on Wed, 12/15/2010 - 2:01am.

The Kaiser Family Foundation was founded by and is a part of Kaiser Permanente, a health care services and health insurance provider. KFF was one of the biggest advocates for health care reform, to the point where one of the libtrolls on here, Icarus, even used one of their articles as a source when he was shilling for the reform. Naturally, KP is one of the biggest beneficiaries of health care reform. That's the very definition of corruption.

Progressives seem to be completely averse to facts and logic. Apparently, reality has a conservative bias.

Dirty, smelly Italian anarchist hippies

Waging their Catholic/secular brand of Jihad in beautiful Rome. How nice.

Now, granted, Berlusconi (sp?) is no saint, but the primary reason these young socialists are going nuts -- and getting away with it, essentially -- is because he's right of center.

MSDNC and the media are basically waxing romantic over these and the London protests. Imagine for a moment if any conservative even threw a pebble at a window in D.C. protesting Obama or any leftist politicians/policies. Just imagine.

An aside, I'm posting this here cuz.... I can't find the dang Open Thread!!! :p

I think it's time for the Tea

Submitted by Barack_must_go..... on Tue, 12/14/2010 - 5:09pm.

I think it's time for the Tea Party folks to start a " Color of Change " inspired boycott campaign against each & every company that advertises with any Washington Post entities.

They ( WaPo ) have proven to be overtly racist and partisan to the point of being a de facto propaganda arm of the Obama socialist regime.

Afterall, what's good for the Beck is even gooder for the Obama, as Beck is supposedly just a clown according to them, while Obama is supposed to be the president of the United States of America.

In reality he's just your average, run of the mill Ass Clown, if you ask me........even if you don't...he most definitely is .

Wonder if Obama's approval rating among blacks is still over 90%

Submitted by krendler on Tue, 12/14/2010 - 5:18pm.

If so, his already dismal approval rating is about 12 points higher than it would be if Obama were white.

He is down another ten

Submitted by gwalt on Tue, 12/14/2010 - 5:28pm.

I never believe those polls. They are designed to make news. Fake news that is. How is he so popular and Pelosi is at 8? Doesn't pass the smell test.  They will never allow him to drop below 40. They will keep polling until desired result is achieved.

Right. Stinks.

Submitted by Red Jeep on Tue, 12/14/2010 - 5:42pm.

He was at 39% approval in a Nov. Zogby poll, which in my opinion was 10 points too high. I think he is in the 20's now with Harry Reid.

52 percent is a slim majority?

As I recall, Obama was elected with a little over 52% of the popular vote and the mainstream media made it sound like a landslide.  Now we are told it is only a slim majority.  Well stay tuned because the opposition will only become greater.

Thanks, Rush for the plug!

Submitted by gopcongress on Wed, 12/15/2010 - 1:30pm.

Good job, Tim. Rush just mentioned this post on his show. It is uncanny how an organization will pay money to create a poll, then when the poll doesn't jive with their socialist agenda, they fail to report it. Wonder why they even released it in the first place?
