Arianna Tweets: Marco Rubio 'Looking Like a Central American Dictator'
In the wee hours of Election Night came this Twitter burst from Arianna Huffington, the one who loaded buses to rally with Jon Stewart for "sanity" and calm and taking the rhetoric down a notch:
On nightline set matthew dowd on sen elect rubio surrounded by flags looking like a central american dictator
What? Dowd didn't say that, as the tweet might suggest. Arianna didn't say it on ABC, either, just on Twitter. To put that in context, Rubio did have a multi-flag backdrop for his victory speech, but that's hardly unusual for politicians.
Here's Barack Obama during his presidential campaign in Des Moines, Iowa:

Now here is Rubio on Election Night, in hardly a Hugo Chavez frame:

Huffington appeared on ABC with Nightline anchor Terry Moran and pollster Matthew Dowd in the 3 am hour. Neither of them commented on Rubio's backdrop. A few minutes after they talked, ABC ran video of Rubio, as the Senator-elect joked about his journey: "When you're 35 points down in the polls, and the only people who think you can win live in your house, and four of them are under the age of ten, you better know why you're running." Huffington spoke again to Moran briefly after the speeches, and heard conservative blogger Matt Lewis tout Rubio as a "rising star," but she skipped the "dictator" jab on the air. Here's the image of the tweet:

Arianna huffs, indeed. Stay classy, Mrs. Huffington.

That was obviously a racist crack because Rubio is Latino!
Think she'd say that The One looks like an African dictator?
Well now...

as seen on her blogsite HuffnPuff, she portrays herself to be so understanding, calm and collected. By this comment, I believe she just showed even more of her true colors. Go on back across the pond you bloated english twit!
Let me answer this one, Tim

It requires a bit of female cattiness.
Arianna, you ignorant twit. Marco Rubio, son of immigrants, has earned everything he has, by hard work and personal integrity. Unlike you, Arianna, a gold-digging, turn-men-gay hag who has the moral compass of an alley cat.
Furthermore, Arianna, since you're obviously an ignorant immigrant (unfortunately not one of the illegal sort)....you've failed to notice that flags of both the great State of Florida and the United States of America comprise Marco's backdrop at his campaign's victory party. So sorry to disappoint, Ari, but only your dear leader prefers the red communist hammer & sickle motif.
Stick to butchering the English language, dearie. It's your only talent...as I said earlier, the turns-men-gay thing kind of takes away any usefulness you might enjoy in the world's oldest profession.

Blonde...Where's the outrage at this comment?
Submitted by PrairieSky on Thu, 11/04/2010 - 3:19pm.
This was a racist comment if ever there was one...Where is the outrage by our oh-so-tolerant liberal friends in the media?? They should be screaming about this, and yet all I hear are crickets. If a Repub/conservative had said this, the MSM would be full of righteous indignation at this statement.
And you are spot on about Rubio being a self-made man...His success has come from his own hard work, not by marrying money, like Ms. Huffington did when she married Michael Huffington (that was before she drove him to be gay...lol!). This woman is dumber than a box of rocks...I can't stand this b---h, and wish she would just shut the "h" up already.
Congratualtions Blonde on the election of Lt. Col. West on Tuesday! What great news! We (my family) were all pulling for him, and watched through the evening as the returns came in in his race, and we were very happy that he won! I know you worked hard for him, and it paid off. Good job!

This is the first election in my adult life where I was pretty happy about my entire slate of candidates.
Don't worry about Rubio & the racism thing. Donnie Deutsch called him a coconut last year (brown on the outside, white on the inside)...and Marco shrugged it off with grace and class. He's an American, first, last, and always. He has bigger fish to fry than Zsa Zsa.
Dumber than a box of rocks...that's Ms. HuffPo. Why she is still around is beyond me, although it's kind of fun watching George Will skewer her on a weekly basis.

That just shows how low they go, with Rubio. That's the kind of thing this election was all about. Right always wins out.
On the MM "Take Your Olive Branch and Shove it" thread, I posted something today with a funny video clip ("Told Ya So!"), and I had two people PM me -- asking me if I'd copy it and move it up on a higher thread, so more people could see it. But I can't find an open thread -- and I have no idea where to "put" it.
If ya'll see that thread, will you let me know if there's an open thread that makes sense? My computer is moving so slowly that it's hard to jet around.
RUBIO ROCKS!

I sure don't have it back! I am still having to go through the "send this user a message" hoopla to get my PMs -- so I have to make a point of checking every now and then. I miss the notification.

Speaking for myself, just when I get a little bit used to how things are going on here -- they change it up on me, and I'm in the dark again. (^_^) I am really glad the tracking is back though.

I'm not sure if it's my computer (which is quirky) or this site, but everything continues to run really slooooowly for me on here. Clicking on stuff and getting it to come up takes forevvvvvver. ^_^

Amen! My computer has been like this for at least a week on here though, so it might be a little bit of both. Like the day after election (gee, that would be yesterday), I could not even get on here at all -- all day. I was so excited about the election, and I couldn't even "yippeeeee"! :(

most of the day yesterday (of all days!), and even when it was back up, there were still issues...Slow loading and running, etc. This is getting more than a little annoying...I wish that whatever is causing the continuing problems would be fixed already. This has been going on for weeks, and it would nice to have NB back to normal again. Almost every day there is some feature that is missing or different or the site goes down, etc. UGH!

What a yutz that guy is. Rubio's star is on the rise, and I can't wait to see how far he goes.
We're happy here in North Dakota too with how the election went...We finally got rid of our idiot 9 term Dem congressman, Earl Pomeroy!! We've been trying to dump him for years now, and he's finally gone! We also sent a Republican senator to D.C. for the first time in 30 years!! Yay!
As for Ms. HuffPo, it's too bad that she's a naturalized American...I'd love to see her butt get deported and sent back to Greece. You're right though...She does provide some comic relief on "This Week"...Invariably, somebody on the right will slam her for something stupid that she says, and she is always saying something stupid.

This surely feels alot better than it did in 06 and 08!
We need to put our noses to the grindstone and keep on trucking...I figure we have another week or two to enjoy our victory, then we need to turn to the future.
Paul Ryan for Prez. Leave Marco & Allen alone for now...we need them to stay put for a while and inject some spine into both Houses of Congress. Jeb Bush needs to get back on the horse and run Bill Nelson out of the Senate in 2012.

Thanks!! Post-election euphoria...
Submitted by PrairieSky on Thu, 11/04/2010 - 7:11pm.
is a WHOLE lot better than post-election depression, which is what I sure had after the elections in '06 and '08 (especially '08). It was funereal around our house for days after Obama won in '08. Next, we've got to focus on '12.
I'm very impressed with Paul Ryan...He's smart as whip and seems to be feisty and tough as nails, and I'd like to see him run. I agree that Allen and Rubio should stay where they are for now...They've both got plenty to do in the House and the Senate. I think that Jeb Bush would be a great candidate to run against Nelson...Have you been hearing much about him possibly running? Keep us updated about that, would you?

You know, don't you, that he's not a "real" Latino??
As Dingy Harry said... a real Latino would never be a Republican.
Democrats, of course are ALWAYS about race.
I'm digressing here, but does anyone else remember Loretta Sanchez when she used to be Loretta Brixey? When she was running against Dornan, she dropped her "anglo" married name and went with Sanchez to ingratiate herself with Latino voters.
But it's never about race with them, you know....
PS...I wonder if she thinks Obama looks like a third-world dictator...

It ought to be very interesting to see how Marco treats Harry & the rest of the democrats. The democrats are afraid of him, very, very afraid.
Obama IS a third world dictator, BTW....he's looted the treasury beyond even Imelda's three thousand pairs of LaBoutin's & Jimmy Choo's.
