Obama's Univision Interviewer, an Angry Amnesty Advocate

The most biased interviewer that President Obama faced on Sunday was surely Univision's Jorge Ramos, whose advocacy for illegal aliens is flagrant. Objectivity is not in his vocabulary. Neither is "illegal." Jerry Kammer of the Center for Immigration Studies explained:

In his latest, widely-distributed newspaper column, headlined "End of the Honeymoon,'' the influential anchorman finds it "discouraging" that the president is not including illegal immigrants in his health care plans. Referring to Obama's health care speech last week to Congress, he criticizes the president for language he finds offensive.

Writes Ramos: "It surprised me greatly that in his speech, Obama used the words 'illegal immigrants' to refer to the undocumented. That is the language that many enemies of immigrants have previously used. During his presidential campaign Obama took great care to call them 'undocumented,' not 'illegal.'

Ramos continues: "Words count. To call them 'illegals' is synonymous, for many, with calling them 'criminals.' And they are not. They're simply workers who make the United States a better place as they do the jobs that are the most difficult and the worst paid." He also notes that Obama last year got 67 percent of the Hispanic vote.

Ramos doesn't only take exception to Obama's apparent lapses in political correctness. He fully expects that Obama will achieve amnesty for illegal aliens in his first year in office:

Obama pledged that during his first year as president a reform bill would be drafted "that I strongly support and that we will move forward as soon as we can." The White House is working with Congress and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to meet that self-imposed deadline of next January 21.

But while Ramos accurately cites Obama's pledge in his column, he is strangely distorting it as he promotes his newest book, Tierra de Todos --Land of Everyone.

One wonders if the president -- or his press office -- will ever call the anchorman out for the serial distortion, evident most recently in his interview last week with the Chicago bilingual newspaper, Extra.

According to a transcript of the interview [headlined "An Advocate for Change"], Ramos said that in last year's interview Obama "made a comment that during his first year in office, he was going to sign a bill that would legalize undocumented immigrants."

That is flatly false. But Ramos declared his determination to hold the president to account. He told the newspaper: "That is exactly what I'm trying to do right now, push as hard as I can, to make sure that he keeps his promise."

Most Americans may not follow the Spanish-language networks, but their journalists are not at all bashful about pushing "as hard as they can" for their political aims.

One question for Ramos:

Would he be such an "advocate" of these "undocumented workers" if they were coming from Ireland? No? Then he's a racist, pure and simple.

"Land of Everyone" my A$$. That's a "Land of Lawlessness." And a "Land of Poverty."

Calling an illegal alien "undocumented"

Calling an illegal alien "undocumented" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist".

If someone is breaking the law by being here, they are illegal.

(H/T to unknown for illegal/unlicensed pharmacist comparison)

Whore-hay Ramos

Is a complete idiot.

Ramos = Tumbler?

Ramos continues: "Words count. To call them 'illegals' is synonymous, for many, with calling them 'criminals.' And they are not. They're simply workers...

criminals: One that has committed or been legally convicted of a crime.

...I believe just about every country has LAWS about entering it, and when you DO NOT OBEY that law, you have committed a CRIME.  Having commited a CRIME you are a CRIMINAL!  simple and plain

Do you suppose there's

Do you suppose there's anyone at Univision who isn't an "angry amnesty advocate?"

And since when is amnesty "reform"???

MB - when is anything the government does reform?

Why is every change to the laws called "reform"?  Calling something "reform" is just a cover-up for wanting things to be different.  Why can't people just say they don't like the way things are and want them changed?

 "They're simply workers

"They're simply workers who make the United States a better place..."

Anybody who lives anywhere near the border and has their very own little Mexico established in their city can tell you different. They devour governmental services and no longer even attempt to assimilate into the mainstream culture. And talk about a birth rate! If everybody in the U.S. could see the absolute invasion that is occurring down here in the southwest they would literally be up in arms to stop it.

Yes, it is understandable that they are trying for a better life here in the U.S., but they are subverting our social systems and it is absolutely unsustainable.

Thank you NB!

For finally starting to shine the light on Univision.  They, and their main competitor (NBC/U - owned) Telemundo, reach millions of Latinos nationwide and they are probably the most biased news organizations on the air.  It is unbelieveable how the skew the news in a manner designed to manipulate a generally uninformed and poorly educated audience.

Ever wonder why someone from Latin America who worked hard to get a green card would support amnesty?  Well, there are 2 reasons:

1) They have a realtive that they cannot get into the US without it (i.e. a personal interest); or,

2) They are convinced that there is an anti-immigrant sentiment here by the constant, daily, barrage of stories on UNI and TEL about the "pobrecitos" who are suffering because of the mean people who insist on following the law.  Basically, these networks make this into an "us versus them" issue.

Reason #2 probably covers 80% or more of the people.  In other words, they are shaping opinion as the only information these people get is filtered through this socialist lens.

And, talk about propaganda!  If a latino is roughed up by a white guy in Ohio, it's the lead story on both newscasts.  Meanwhile, an illegal can kill a car full of whites and there's no mention of it.  Please, by all means, keep the pressure on these guys because they're rabblerousing an audience that doesn't know any better.

Univision's newscasts are so extreme that they even make NBC look neutral.  As for Jorge Ramos, I read an interview with him in a Spanish-language magazine a few years ago where he indicated that the USA would be a Spanish-speaking nation and part of Latin America by 2030.  And he was anxious for that day to come.  So, that's where he's coming from.  A dangerous, dangerous man.

Keep an eye on Univision and Telemundo - they collectively provide the only news to millions of people in this country and they've been getting away with a lot of lies.

They are here because the govt. has broken the laws. No one is above the law, including the president. The not legal people have broken the laws. Anyone who sides with the not legals has broken the law. So, Ramos has broken the law. Arrest him. Send the not legals home. Investigate the elected servants who side with the not legals.

Invasion 101

I think we are looking at all of this in the wrong light.  It seems that instead of waging war on most of the countries we have fought a simpler approach would be to ship all of our poor, indigent, and criminals to a country and have them demand citizenship and send all their money home. When they all finally become "citizens" they can refuse to assimilate, drain the country of its resources and use the courts to keep from being deported to their country of origin.  Hell we could have saved almost a million men in all the wars we have fought.

"For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security."

It doesn't matter anymore.

You know something, folks?  I like to think that I'm optimistic, but today's news doesn't make me feel good and what's going on with this amnesty thing in regards to constitutionality.

http://apnews.myway....

The US (in my view) is participating in overriding Honduras' constitutional authority, violating international law.  This alone tells me that the current government will stop at nothing to continue to violate our own constitution, especially with regards to amnesty for illegals.

We're screwed without a revolution.

Jorge, you're luck I'm not the president...

My fix would be a raft, a box lunch, and a quick drop-off at the south pole, as far away from the border as possible in any hemisphere.

Followed quickly by the MSM, followed by the politicians.

(You here legally, Jorge?)

We've had ENOUGH amnesties, Jorge. Do it legally or get out, and NEVER come back.
