Dems Mark Day of Prayer with Obama/JFK Photo

photo via DNC's Web siteIs this the Democratic Party’s preferred Day of Prayer homage?

Barack Obama may not have attended a ceremony for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. But the Democratic National Committee’s official blog "Kicking Ass" did celebrate reverence and worship on that day: it reposted a photo of Obama reverently looking up at a portrait of John F. Kennedy.

Surprise, surprise: the networks ignored the National Day of Prayer, too.

O'Bambi's prayer..... Dear Lord...Who will be my Marilyn?

At least JFK understood

At least JFK understood taxes and capitalism.

the jfk platform - low

the jfk platform - low taxes, strong defense, pro-life, anti-gay marriage

Tim, I agree, but ...

I'd rather have the chance to pray without him. I don't think I could stand the hypocrisy of him standing there among a bunch of Catholic bisops, talking about prayer, when he's actively working against them about abortion, stem cell research, Catholic charities, etc.

I could respect it if he came to the breakfast and said, "Look, we disagree on a lot of issues, but these issues are as much a matter of conscience to me as they are to you. For just a moment, let's put that aside and pray to the same God, trusting that together, we can ask for his will and guidance."

But for that to happen, he'd have to prove that these issues really are a matter of conscience, and that would be proved by evidence that he's spent extensive reflection on them. Instead, he claims they're above his pay grade, which is a cheap way of admitting that he hasn't spent that kind of time. You can tell because of his explanations for his stances on these issues. His explanations are shallow; he's an amateur on all of these issues. High school sophomores would demolish him in debate about it. These aren't matters of conscience for him; they're all about politics.

It's better that he wasn't there.

Just thinking

Just thinking here.....

Does he have any need for church now that he's been elected President?

Has he even gone to church yet in DC, other than Easter?

Those pictures in the pulpit and in front of the cross...gave way to covering up the IHS at Georgetown...

He admitted  that he joined TUCC because he was told that he would have more clout as a community organizer if he were affiliated with a church.

Maybe it was all just a means to an end....

They might say "Wow, that sucks!"  But at least they'll say "Wow!"  -Duff Goldman, the Ace of Cakes

Baloney - he's looking at a spider above the portrait...

...he does not idolize anyone but himself - that should be crystal clear at this point.

No Prayer Day

Hawaii celebrates Islam Day.

DAILY WAVE

When people fear their government there is tyranny.

When government fears the people there is liberty.

Always suspect the narcissism

Nonsense, the Bamster is admiring his own reflection in the glass.

This faux reverence to JFK

This faux reverence to JFK appears very similar to Hitler's fawning salute to Napoleon at the tomb of Les Invalides.

For the MSM: In your pomp and all your glory, you're a poorer man than me.  As you lick the boots of death born out of fear.

I agree Trix. This is so

I agree Trix. This is so obviously set up and phony.

I have to ask, where is this painting? Is it in the WH?  It looks as if BHO is standing there in his bath robe.  Are we supposed to beleive that he wanders the halls of the WH late at night contemplating his heavy burden of responsibility, stopping here in his wanderings to see if JFK will project some wisdom?  Or some such BS.

Photo Op

After a three-minute photo-op in front of the JFK painting, Obama went on to spend the rest of the day gazing into a mirror.

Re gazing

I've heard the rumor that the only things on the Bamster's iPod are his own speeches. Can anyone confirm? Snopes has nothing on this.

Prayer Day

Funny how News Busters or Tim Graham made no mention whatsoever concerning National Prayer Day on the 7th or any other day since other than to criticize the president.

He won. He won't need to

He won.

He won't need to be engaged in public prayer services until, oh say, 2011.
