N.Y. Times Has No Label for Anti-'Christian Fascism' Lefties Against Palin

On Friday, New York Times religion reporter Laurie Goodstein reported on the faith of Sarah Palin. Palin has avoided specific answers on her beliefs, but that didn't stop the Times from declaring "Ms. Palin has had long associations with religious leaders who practice a particularly assertive and urgent brand of Pentecostalism known as 'spiritual warfare.'” But Goodstein didn't tell readers much about the hard-left beliefs of Palin's critics, who were not even described as liberals. Take this passage:

Critics say the goal of the spiritual warfare movement is to create a theocracy. Bruce Wilson, a researcher for Talk2Action, a Web site that tracks religious groups, said: "One of the imperatives of the movement is to achieve worldly power, including political control. Then you can more effectively drive out the demons. The ultimate goal is to purify the earth."

Talk to Action is a left-wing site which declares itself a watchdog of the religious right. Its views on Palin are quite clear: an article on her is simply titled "Christian Fascism." It began:

Sarah Palin's propulsion into politics was fueled by religious intolerance, organized through malicious harassment, and targeted at democracy. Her use of the power of the state to deny equal protection under the law and to thwart the civil rights of her ideological opponents is consistent with the bigotry promoted and organized by the churches that made her what she is.

The wedding of her religiously-derived anti-democratic agenda to corporate impunity is what is known as Christian Fascism. Her particular brand of this political phenomenon was responsible for the murder of a quarter of a million indigenous people of Central America during the Reagan Administration.

Christian Fascism in the United States got a foothold in the White House during the last eight years, and with Palin's candidacy is hoping to someday occupy the Oval Office.

Under the Bush Administration, the U.S. judiciary took a decidedly right turn against Native American sovereignty, the U.S. Constitution and international law; under a Palin Vice Presidency, we should expect community-level violence and harassment to increase significantly.

Does this sound like a website that doesn't need any kind of ideological description or warning label?

Absolutely outrageous and

Absolutely outrageous and despicable.

...how the hell dare they...how the hell dumb do they think we are out here...makes me sick to my stomach...

Obama and Rev Wright...no big deal, and all the other connections with the left wing Marxist Party...let alone the Black Nationalism or whatever the correct term is.....

Oh I am furious about this...I've got to quit posting.

Leave it to the NYTs...the filthy Devil herself the Old Grey Lady is... now more than ever...

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

Normally I would say this

Normally I would say this is a load of B as in B, S as in S; but this doesn't even rise to that level.

The whole thing is manufactured in someone's fevered imagination.

The wedding of her religiously-derived anti-democratic agenda [really?  exactly what is her agenda?] to
corporate impunity
[HUH?] is what is known as Christian Fascism....

[I guess Gov. Palin shouldn't have talked about doing God's work and creating a Kingdom here on earth...oh wait!! That was Barack Obama!!]

..[  ]...Her
particular brand
of this political phenomenon was responsible for the
murder of a quarter of a million indigenous people of Central America
during the Reagan Administration.

[exactly what is her  "particular brand" and what "political phenomenon" is she talking about?

Not an ounce of proof for this wacko charge.

Nor this one:

under a Palin Vice Presidency, we should expect community-level violence and harassment to increase significantly.

Really?  Violence and harassment??? But of course, no elaboration.

This Goodstein woman  throws out this garbage without any basis at all in reality, or even in rational thought. She attributes thoughts and plots to someone of whom she has no knowledge, only her own twisted visions. And the NY Times prints it as if it has any more substance than the scribblings of a high school  student  trying to sound smart and sophisticated.

And the NYT wonders why they are bleeding and can't stanch the flow.

Correction Sunday  0740:

I mistakenly attributed the attack on Gov. Palin to Goodstein of the NYT.

Rereading it today I realize that those sentiments were expressed by Jay Taber of Talk2Action.

Apologies in absential to Ms. Goodstein.

Absolutely outrageous

They are desperate to keep their socialist readership. It's disgusting and vile, not to mention an entire (but expected) lack of objectivity and a promotion of fear-mongering that is the WORST of the newly defined "journalism," merely sensationalistic tabloid stuff. The Times probably gave the writer a raise.

The so-called Fairness Doctrine will only embolden them to keep this drivel up.

This is 'PDS' at it's finest.

"Forget change, I want improvement!"

NYT hates American principles?

The NYT endorses Obama. Obama's plan?:

  • oppress Christians (due to Muslim sympathies; his own words too)
  • withhold support for Israel (due to Muslim sympathies)
  • "form a civilian force as powerful and well financed as the US military" (Obama's own words; will this become Obama's "SS"?)
  • oppress free speech he does not like (it has already started)
  • oppress free press he does not like (it has already started)
  • remove guns (he already verbally attacked all gun owners)
  • fire 25% of the military and its civilian contractors (moving the pie from
hard working Americans to give "hand outs" to those that feel they are
    "entitlelists"
  • control all the voting in America with his appointees and staff (that is what ACORN now looks like now)
  • nationalization of all banks
  • nationalization of the military contractors companies

Does the NYT support "Hitler-ism" or communism? NYT hates America? Obama's past
proves he has the propensity to produce the above programs including,
but not limited to strong association with a hate-mongering  pastor,
terrorists, voter fraud orgs, Palenstinian orgs, hard-core criminals,
Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac crooks, hate-mongering politicians, etc.

And Obama is already a "messiah" to many, which is what Hitler was.

NYT needs a Sunday School lesson

"Spiritual warfare" has nothing to do with class warfare, or any other secular endeavor. "Spiritual warfare" has everthing to do with maintaining one's personal walk with God, knowing full well that secular influences can cause one to sin." Here are but a few examples:

  • devoting one's self to prayer, reading and studying the Bible,
fellowship with other believers, and striving to be more like Jesus (as opposed to being more like those who love sin)
  • avoiding sexual influences outside of the family (porn, adultery, etc) since this can result in a broken marriage and great psychological harm to the children of a marriage, say if a divorce occurs
  • working within the family and within the church body to bring about change in people's hearts that results in real social change in the long run, including social concerns of poverty, war, crime, etc (indeed, the aggregate of churches attack all these issues)
  • reaching out to help others on both physical and spiritual level to help them when they are poor and to lead them to Christ, since Eternal Life trumps our short life on earth and Christian love better than all others as a result (I know people will take issue with this one).

The first great Commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind. Well, how can one do that if they are selfish to begin with? But how are people selfish? When they reject God or even when they are religious, but feel their "good works" are earning them a right to enter heaven.

The answer to selfishness is in what the Savior did on the cross. What did he do? He paid the penalty for all sins, past, present and future, but only for those who trully repent, and fully trust what he did on the cross, and pray for the Lord to be their Lord and their Savior and for the forgiveness of all sins (past, present and future).

Then an amazing thing happens. Because there is "now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1) believers are no longer required to do good works to get to heaven (selfish attitude), but are now free to do good works out of selflessness or true love. This is true love for God (as in 1st Commandment), and true love for your neighbor (as in 2nd Commandment).

Now we come full circle to "spiritual warfare" because even though born-again believers are guaranteed a place in heaven, they are still under the influence of the sinful practices of the world and must engage in active practicing of their faith, through Bible study, prayer, fellowship with the Lord, and loving others and bringing them into a saving knowledge of Christ. In otherwords, becoming a Christian changes one's attitude but not one's status as still able to sin, hence the need for "spiritual warfare".

To prove "spiritual warfare" is not secular, but related to sin, read this from Ephesians 6:12-14:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness ...'

There is no time to dive into all the deep meanings here, but basically you can see that "class warfare" is ruled out when it says "we (Christians) wrestle not against flesh and blood" which is really saying that we have "spiritual warfare" with the devil not other humans, but we do see the influence of the devil, much of the time, but not all the time, in "high places" including, but not limited to political leaders, TV & movies with "its OK to sin messages", selected organizations, and other influences.

As for who is waging "class warfare" listen to this:

Bigtimer, people will get a gutful of Obama real quick

Don't worry your little Bigtimer head, regular people...aka Joe the Plumber types will get a gutful of Obama and all the crap that will be rubbed in our faces after the election if Obama wins.  All these buffoons that believe all this "change" and "hope" and "We are the world" junk will soon come to their senses when their paychecks are smaller, gas goes way up again, groceries increase in price and the US is humiliated by some tinhorn country.  Remember Carter anyone?

For some reason, Americans have a short memory and need to be reminded that "change" can go both ways!

This Article is Completely Shameful

I'm surprised that the NYT would stoop this low. Well, maybe not too surprised, because they're in full panic mode (and on their way to bankruptcy.) If Laurie Goodstein (BTW, what kind of a name is "Goodstein?") were even attempting a semblance of fair and balanced journalism, she would immediately follow this article with one which smears Barack Obama for how the Reverend Wright has shaped his "God Damn America" philosophy the last 20 years.

BT this is insanity

I'm has hot as you are BT.  This is getting so far out, so bizarre that it's as if we are being dictated to by some strange brand of lunatics who have snuck through the gate intent making the rest of us feel like aliens. There is NOTHING they will report on "that one".  But because Sara's a Christian, somehow that's a danger???  Marxism, Black Theology, Jihadists, PLO, crack addicts and terrorists... they are on the approved list and Sara Palin is a fringe nut? I feel like I'm living in a hostile country that's been taken over by an utterly disturbed underground band of criminals.  If McCain doesn't win this I may have to consider which state of the United States has the most American values, move to it and then try to defend it.  Maybe Alaska?

These people are sick.

If I thought for a second Sarah Palin was going to bring about a theocracy in this country, I would not be voting for the republican ticket.

I fear the true fascists among us; Barack Hussein Obama and a super majority of dems in congress.

Laurie Goodstein

Laurie Goodstein needs to change her name to Lying Badshit. I am most definitely intolerant of those who want to teach my grandchildren that the lifestyles of these anti-christian scumbags is acceptable. IN nearby New Orleans these filthy perverts want to practice their depravity in public. We need to bring back public hangings and beatings. If we aren't allowed to hang them by the neck we can hang them by something else. Hardly a day goes by without  a child being kidnapped by these Godless scum. If Lying Badshit wants to live in an unchristian society then she can get the hell out of America. The pilgrims dedicated this country to Jesus Christ and our founding fathers created it in His name. I want Barack Hussein to lose and lose big. So Barack Hussein I say to you in the name of Jesus Christ, may your tongue be tangled and your thoughts become confused. May all that you hide in darkness be brought to light. Let the truth about you be made known throughout the world. I also call down the blessings and protection of Almighty God upon John McCain and Sarah Palin the next president and vice president of the United States of America! I declare this in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.

AMEN!

AMEN!

Leave it to the ignorant

Leave it to the ignorant sluts at the New York Crimes to completely misunderstand that Judeo-Christian principles are unrelated and incompatible with fascism.

However, Goodstein is an expert at a psychologically infantile projection.  Her brand fascism is responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews and Christians.

Seig heil Laurie.  You are a miraculous monument to stupidity.

The thermometer of success is merely the jealousy of the malcontents.  Salvador Dalí

NYT Apparent Ignorance

Apparently total ignorance here about what "spiritual warfare" means among Christians, and no effort at all to understand it.  Here's what is is, NYT, straight from the Bible verses from which it comes:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

That's from Ehesians 6, if it matters to the NYT.

Note that spiritual warfare is, uh... spiritual.  It has nothing to do establishing anything on this earth.

NYT = Not Yet Truthful?

And clearly it says that our spiritual warfare is not against "flesh and blood" which means it is NOT warfare against people, but clearly against the influences of evil upon the world.

"...the ultimate goal is to

"...the ultimate goal is to purify the earth."

Sorry Mr Wilson but I think that bit of idealistic lunacy has been the mantra of the weak-teat-tree-hugging-enviro-Nazis for some time now. You'll have to think of something else.

Come to think of it, the "worldly power/political control thingy has been the pervue of radical lefties for...oh, forever.

Back to your research there sonny; or has your grant run out?

I hate democracies as any Founding Father did

The left in this world have pushed democracies as mob  rule allows the elites to rule the mob.

The United States is supposed to be a Republic. That means majority elected self rule delegated to government with minority rights.
IE: Terri Schiavo not tortured to death for the good of insurance companies, hospitals and husbands who have new places to have sex with.

Democracies are a pariah of robber barons. The Federalists loathed them and as Theodore Roosevelt exposed them they caused the almost end of the United States in the War of 1812 when Jefferson and Madison so screwed up security, foreign policy and national policy the British almost re annexed the United States except for our incredible Navy leadership.

Jefferson would himself admit to Adams (Jefferson destroyed this fine patriot in a whispering campaign as he was a federalist) that Jefferson was wrong about REVOLUTION as it slaughtered most of the French.
I will repeat that. Jefferson would not support the change Obama is  speaking of.

These modern liberals who use terms like Christian Fascism have no understanding of terms. George W. Bush is not a fascist. He is socialist who like Bill Buckley thinks people need government to take care of themselves, but not a government in control of every business. That is what fascism is. The government controlling business in the private sector.

Sarah Palin is a Christian Conservative. Her values are Franklin production economy and very much like John McCain in Roosevelt's (Teddy) walk softly and carry a big stick. As I Have eluded to, Mr. McCain is not going to be sending US military units to fight wars, but he is going to use Raider Strikes akin to the early United States in having Rangers who struck the enemy, did damage, accomplished the mission and vanished.

McCain is a socialist too like Bush, but is a free market socialist.

That is what is wrong with all these communists and marxists in they will not even tell the world what they are but want to hide as Democrats while calling others Fascists.
Obama is a Trotsky Revolutionary Marxist, but if you look at his plans he like Franklin Roosevelt will institute what Huey Long stated absolulute fascism into America where government controls business.

What do you think it is when a government mandates health care all business has to pay for? When it mandates a tax structure and punishes businesses it does not agree with. When it mandates production by quota?

Obama is a hybrid Marxist like the Chicoms are and the Islamocommunists are in the Middle East.

Frankly the Indians should stop being fascist racist wards of the government and the gambling industry and do exactly what they need to join America. If you ever worked at an Indian casino you would soon find out what racism is. They get away with it and it is time to stop and require them to join producing America.
I don't care if it is Sioux Indians growing hemp like Canadians do, but put in programs that they utilize land and stop hiding behind how America stole their land.
Got news people that the entire east coast and much of the west has Phoenican and Viking markings on it. One researcher thinks that as many as 40,000 Vikings were in America. They like the Phoenicians didn't go anywhere, they simply intermarried and evolved into the more civilized tribes. That is why the Mandans had blonde streaks in their hair.
The Sioux are from Canada originally, blew out onto the plains and were committing genocide on the Pawnee, Arikara and Crow when the Americans arrived and saved those peoples.

These liberals get away with this Bill Ayers propaganda, because no one bothers to correct them and the media has a financial stake in the trends of ruining America.

The New York Times can keep writing it's propaganda as it looses readership and people discover new information which is truthful online.

*HIC IACET ARTORIVS REX QVONDAM REXQVE FVTVRVS

What the hell is wrong with her...?

Her article borders on a hate crime.

Victory in Iraq.

Liberals suck.

McCain for Preznint.

These people like to act

These people like to act like they care about atrocities, but in my opinions are jokes. Here's an example of a left wing atheist leader by the name of Francisco Macias Nguema who killed Christians and banned religion. Maybe this NYT group should be concerned we'll get an atheist like him or Enver Hoxha in charge.

From the link below.

"He has been compared to Pol Pot because of the violent, unpredictable, and anti-intellectual nature of both regimes. Kleptocracy (sometimes Cleptocracy) (root: Klepto+cracy) literally means rule by thieves. ... Dictator was the title of a magistrate in ancient Rome appointed by the Senate to rule the state in times of emergency. ... Pol Pot Saloth Sar (May 19, 1925 - April 15, 1998), better known as Pol Pot, was the leader of the Khmer Rouge and the Prime Minister of Cambodia (officially Democratic Kampuchea during his rule) from 1976 to 1979. ... "

And then here's an article about Sandanistas commiting atrocities.  Now how could the swell Sandanistas commit atrocities?  I thought they were supposed to be the most awesomest swellest people ever, because left wing college professors say so.

Hate Me "Christian Fascist" Haters

cause I wrote this;

Before Pope Benedict came to America to celebrate Mass
in New York and Washington, it was revealed that as a young boy in Germany he
had had a cousin with Down Syndrome. One day a Nazi doctor came and claimed his
cousin for the Third Reich. Taken to be “cared for” at the “hospital” young
Joseph Ratzinger never saw his cousin again: one of the host of “useless eaters”
marked for extermination by that brutal regime.

My wife and I operate St. Joseph’s House, a daycare and
respite care home for handicapped children. As it happened one of the children
we care for, a wheelchair bound young lady, was chosen along with three other
handicapped folks to carry the gifts up to the altar before the consecration at
the Mass at Nationals Stadium in Washington D.C. on April 17, 2008. One of these
was James, a 30ish man who works in the Officer’s Club at Andrews AFB.  James
has Down Syndrome. He was chosen to carry the large host which would become the
Body of Christ lifted up before the assembled. As James with great ceremony
advanced toward the Pope, his native enthusiasm overcame his reserve and he
started to run. Simultaneously the Holy Father leapt from his chair and walked
towards James with his arms outstretched. We have a picture of this moment
which I cannot look at without tearing up. What did he see as he gazed so
lovingly at James?  I believe he saw his cousin. I believe he saw the face of
Jesus. And I believe that his great prayer as he elevated that host on that
impossibly beautiful day was “As long as you did to these the least of my
brethren, you did it to Me.”

The next day April 18th, a boy was born to of
all people, the Governor of Alaska. They named him Trig.

Anyone who has ever heard Santayana's famous quote about History repeating itself is condemned to repeat it.

That is a beautiful

That is a beautiful story!

Thank you for sharing it!  I wish you could post the picture.

And where did you write your story posted here; is it on the web?  I would love to share the story and the photo with my friends!

Dan & BT

We had two downs Syndrome kids in our prayer group. Your post makes me long for my happier years and all the love we used to share.

Paranoid

Goodstein sure sounds paranoid.  And she's the religion reporter?  shouldn't she understand by now you can't judge the whole by a few? and even then, wouldn't we see plain adopt more religion into her paltform?  She makes it clear she's a woman of faith, but I feel like if someone like Goodstein reports was running it would be in every other word.  This article upsets me.

This article upsets me.

I'm way past upset.

I'm furious!

cbs

I heard recently that CBS is going to have to sell it's radio department, possibly even part of its news department off due to funds. Maybe as the dying newspaper media falls in the coming years, reporters like this won't have a job.

I'm not the one going to hell ...

so it really doesn't bother me.  One of the best quotes from Sienfeld.

Elaine: Oh. So, you're pretty religious?

Puddy: That's right.

Elaine: So is it a problem that I'm not really religious?

Puddy: Not for me.

Elaine: Why not?

Puddy: I'm not the one going to hell.

NYT hates America?

The NYT endorses Obama. Obama's plan?:

  • oppress Christians (due to Muslim sympathies; his own words too)
  • withhold support for Israel (due to Muslim sympathies)
  • "form a civilian force as powerful and well financed as the US military" (Obama's own words; will this become Obama's "SS"?)
  • oppress free speech he does not like (it has already started)
  • oppress free press he does not like (it has already started)
  • remove guns (he already verbally attacked all gun owners)
  • fire 25% of the military and its civilian contractors (moving the pie from hard working Americans to give "hand outs" to those that feel they are "entitlelists"
  • control all the voting in America with his appointees and staff (that is what ACORN now looks like
  • nationalization of all banks
  • nationalization of the military contractors companies

NYT support "Hitler-ism" or communism? NYT hates America? Obama's past proves he has the propensity to produce the above programs including, but not limited to strong association with a hate-mongering  pastor, terrorists, voter fraud orgs, Palenstinian orgs, hard-core criminals, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac crooks, hate-mongering politicians, etc.

And Obama is already a "messiah" to many, which is what Hitler was.

Do I Have To Be The Politcally Incorrect one Around Here?

I have said before that I have a cousin who's husband is a pastor, and I am not worried about him threatening me. I am worried, however, about a government takeover by evangelical Christians and ultra-orthodox Catholics like the douchebags at the Catholic League. There is also the threat from fundamentalist Muslims and Atheists as well, so I'm not bigoted simply to Christianity, but to organized religion in general. I am afraid they will take control of the ways we communicate and revamp some of the draconian doctrines they instituted, like the Legion of Decency or the Hayes codes that were used on movies. I am afraid that I will be persecuted for my beliefs as an agnostic Jew (I would also feel afraid if fundamentalist Atheists had there way, too, because we agnostics always allow the belief that there may be a God, unlike Atheist who are absolutely convinced there is no God.)

Is it so bad to complain that we want these people to keep out of the business of taking feeding tubes out of vegetative men and women? Is it so bad to complain that we don't want any interference in the way we communicate or express ourselves independently, freely or artistically? No, I don't. Now I don't believe in conspiracy theories and nonsense like Illuminati crap and such, but the fundamentalists of all beliefs have made it very clear that they want to impose a fundamentalist new world order in any of their mind's eyes. I, however, will never bow down towards a fundamentalist new world order. I want to be free to express my beliefs the way I want to without being persecuted, and I wish you all would, too.

I am worried,

I am worried, however, about a government takeover by evangelical Christians and ultra-orthodox Catholics

Yeah, that's all I kept hearing about Bush and how he and his Evangelical friends were going to turn this country into a Theocracy.  How'd that turn out?

Oh yeah.  Those remarks were as full of BS as you are.

I feel the same way about fundamentalist socialists. Or fundamentalist liberals. It's the same absolutism, just from the opposite side.
