WaPo Obama Endorsement: Hope Overflows

On Saturday, The Washington Post published a letter to the editor (on their "Free for All" page) that did a nice job poking the Post for their endorsement of Obama:

Sen. Barack Obama has promised to bring change and hope. The Post's Oct. 17 endorsement editorial "Barack Obama for President" made it clear that he has already succeeded in bringing hope to The Post when it stated:

-- "We hope he would navigate between the amoral realism of some in his party and the counterproductive cocksureness of the current administration, especially in its first term."

-- "...we can only hope and assume that Mr. Obama would recognize the strategic importance of success in Iraq and adjust his plans."

-- "We also can only hope that the alarming anti-trade rhetoric we have heard from Mr. Obama during the campaign would give way to the understanding of the benefits of trade reflected in his writings."

-- "We had hoped, throughout this long campaign, to see more evidence that Mr. Obama might stand up to Democratic orthodoxy and end, as he said in his announcement speech, 'our chronic avoidance of tough decisions.' "

That sure is a lot of "hope."

Personally, I hope we won't have occasion to find out whether or not the hopes of The Post are realized.

"Hope Overflows".....what,......

like a liberal toilet of marxist BS?

"If a man does his best, what else is there"?

General George S. Patton Jr.

In short, the WaPo is

In short, the WaPo is endorsing Obama because they like him.

They don't agree with his stand on Iraq.

They don't agree with his stand on trade.

They had hoped that he would stand up to Democratic orthodoxy (apparently he failed them on that score).

But they're going to endorse him anyway.

And they "hope" that he will be a good President.

Hitler had The Same Adoring Fans!

Just remember what happened the last time the populus and media so adored a Father figure!

Be afraid, be very afraid!

We are SO SCREWED!

STOP OBAMA NOW!

Defeatist.  Stop talking

Defeatist.  Stop talking like Obama is already President.  You play right into the hands of the MSM.

Defeatist?

If I was a defeatist I wouldn't bother to be saying:

STOP OBAMA NOW!

WAKE UP AMERICA!  before it's AMERIKA

"We are SO SCREWED!

"We are SO SCREWED! "

Of course! This is not defeatist at all.  Sorry for the confusion.

I learned in the Army...

...that "hope" is neither a tactic nor a strategy for getting the job done.

The Real Obama

http://www.associate...

Obama is a man who has experienced the pain of racial prejudice as a youth and he will never forget it. Those greedy insiders that imagine that he can be harnessed are in for a rude awakening when Obama sits in the oval office. His memories will help produce the wisest leader since King Solomon.

His memories will help

His memories will help produce the wisest leader since King Solomon - Mel you are new so I don't know if this is a sarc or not.  If it is not then back up assertions and if it is a sarc then indicate so.  The first posts form opinions about you.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

Misleading Sinister Media?

Does the WaPo agree with Obama's plans to try to make this country communist?

Does the WaPo agree with Obama's plans to destroy the entire US economy?

Does the WaPo agree with Obama's plans to cut spending on Israel because of a budget crisis caused by a failing economy, he will blame on Republicans, but will be caused by his policies?

Does the WaPo agree with Obama's plans to oppress free speech and ultimately the press?

SOMETHING overflows...

...that's for sure.

In other words,...

If Mr. Obama, will try to govern like John McCain would, the post will be happy.  Why did they just not beg "O" to promise that he would try to be a "just master".

Value producers are people too!

Hope in one hand

Hope in one hand and crap in the other.  See which one fills first.
