One of the top stories on Yahoo! news this morning is an Associated Press report on anti-Obama author Jerome Corsi being held in Kenya over his immigration papers. Reporter Tom Odula makes sure he sticks this Obama campaign language in, complete with a website plug:
Corsi's book claims the Illinois senator is a dangerous, radical candidate for president and includes innuendoes and false rumors — that he was raised a Muslim, attended a radical, black church and is secretly seething with "black rage."
Obama is a Christian who attended Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, and his campaign picks apart the book's claims on the Obama campaign's rumor-fighting Web site, FightTheSmears.com.
So the AP accurately reports that Obama attended Reverend Wright's church, but it's placed on a list of "false rumors" or "innuendoes" that it was radical? (Is there any doubt that Wright was seething with black rage?) Obama's not a "radical," despite his history of working relationships in Chicago with people whose idea of idealism was bombing U.S. government buildings.
AP's headline cites Corsi as an "anti-Obama author," which is certainly true, but anti-Bush authors would probably not be described with the label "anti-Bush." It sounds too negative. They'd probably be listed by their Pulitzers or other liberal honors. The Times of London also has a story.

October 7, 2008 - 05:49 ET by ThisnThatIf the AP is correct, then the Obama campaign will welcome critical comments from McCain so that they can trot out Rev Wright and put him on-air as an Obama spokesman to explicitly and personally refute all these lies. Obama can also include Wright on his campaing stops, and in campaign commercials.
If the AP is correct, of course....

If this is the case, did Corsi find something out that is got the Kenyan government upset enough to hold him over his immigration papers (sounds very much like the old Soviet ploy to me)?

I lost one of my children's a few years back and I simply called and got a replacement. It wasn't hard, just a phone call and I had to pay a few bucks. Why can't Obama? This just further fuels the notion that Obama is not being honest with the American people.

Obama was born in Kenya, his mother could not fly due to adavanced maternity. He was born in Kenya and his American mother later flew to Hawaii and registered his birth.
He was born in Kenya to a Kenyan father, a muslim. Islam is a paternal based religion. If your father is a muslim, that makes you a muslim. So Obama was born a muslim and did not actually convert until he found an even nuttier religion (black liberation) in his 20's.

If you re-read that carefully, I think you'll get that they're saying OBAMA was "raised a Muslim, attended a radical, black church and is secretly seething with "black rage."
You seem to make the point (along with other posters) that there's no doubt Wright is "seething," but I think it's clear that all 3 points are about Obama. My read, anyway.
Others might accuse you of addressing a "straw-man," or be even more disparaging.
Just trying to help,. ;^)

I've written a couple of other "news" organizations as well. Their responses? All the same: We just use the "AP Hosted Custom News" feed, so don't blame us for the liberal lies it contains. The italics are mine. I then suggested that they could spend just a minute or two away from their "real" journalistic efforts to fact check and edit the stories. The haven't gotten back to me yet on that. So, don't waste characters citing Yahoo! News, cut it down to AP, and leave it at that. I don't have the resources, but here's an idea for a Web site: RemoveAPsBias.com. The site's editors would fact check and edit the AP feed and then resell the edited pieces. Not sure about the legality, but it shouldn't be too hard to eliminate the lies and bias. All you'd have to do is cut and ...sell the blank pages.
That's like reading Marx to become an entrepreneur.
