Golden Gate Hater: Mark Morford Predicts Racist Assault on Obama

The American left claims to hate how Ann Coulter makes a fortune with calculated outrageousness. What will they say about Mark Morford? This San Francisco Chronicle columnist has been skewered by MRC's Culture and Media Institute for mourning how America may be taken over by a new generation of “easily terrified, mindless fundamentalist evangelical Christian lemmings.” He described critics of the atheist movie The Golden Compass as “the creepy clowns in organized religion’s gloomy circus, all scrunched brows and gnarled hands and so much repressed sexuality it would make a porn star wince.”

Of course, he is a Barack Obama fan. Who in the San Francisco elite isn’t?

Predictably, he is outraged that conservatives would play around with the name Barack Hussein Obama, pronouncing it “over and over again on Fox News and at McCain rallies and across Wal-Mart's loudspeakers so trailer park denizens across Bush's 'Merka will get even more confused and panicky and start loading up the bunker with Ding-Dongs and Coors just in case the Muslim radicals take over.”

(At this point he links to what appears to be a "news" article in the Chronicle by staff writer Joe Garofoli describing how Cincinnati radio host Bill Cunningham pronouncing Obama’s middle name "highlighted a probable attack strategy, should Obama get the Democratic nomination: American xenophobia." Garofoli incorrectly claimed Rush Limbaugh regularly recites Obama’s full name, and worried that these tactics will test how Americans fear foreigners in a post-Sept. 11 world. He insisted "Obama is a Christian who never worshiped at a mosque and was raised in a secular household. He attends the United Church of Christ.")

To Morford, conservatives are troglodytes who are so intellectually impaired that they believe that Obama will lead to (a) rampant lesbianism and (b) an Islamic theocracy. How does that mesh, precisely?

No, the problem for GOP strategists is not how to inflame the troglodytic, Limbaugh/Coulter-grade sects of the party who, assuming Obama goes the distance, are already hugely terrified of the notion of a black liberal president, given how he'll surely be a slippery slope straight to gay marriage and rampant lesbianism in schools and hourly shriekings to Allah as everyone's forced to give up their guns and drive a hybrid moped to the tofu store.

Morford expects an unbelievable flood of mud from the right wing, playing off America's deep-set racism:

Which leaves us with the one true hot button, the ugly issue everyone expects: race. This is the card the right will have to play very, very carefully, as the slightest slip-up in demonizing Obama's skin color and playing to America's nastiest, deep-set racist tendencies will offend millions and only make Republicans look like the party of old, white, sexist, racist, classist warmongering men they very much are.

But rest assured, if the past eight years are any indication, play it they will. For one thing, the GOP is now counting on the cultural discord that's been simmering for years between the Latino and African American communities. While it's hard to imagine Latinos flocking to the Republicans, given the party's hateful, isolationist immigration agenda, McCain is immigration-friendly, and Obama is, well, black. Will it be enough to sway millions of Latinos McCain's way? Does the right even have the power structure in place to try?

Because here's the thing: When they stole two elections for Bush, the brutal, homophobic conservative machine was tightly organized, had focus, mountains of cash, Karl Rove, the backing of a very nefarious, deeply inbred team of ultra-wealthy war hawks hell-bent on taking over the nation and ruling with a flaccid peni- ... er, iron fist.

Tit for tat

Now if McCain's middle name were 'Hitler' or 'Stalin' that would never matter to the liberal, open minded, all-embracing left, would it? Wouldn't even be mentioned, I betcha.

Amazing...

You know, I've had about all I can take of this crap. If Ann Coulter were to right the EXACT same story, but about muslims, the left and media would attack "the right" non stop for weeks. Yet, its perfectly acceptable to be as biggoted as you like against Christians.

I'm not the least bit religious and even I can see what happening in this country. a new area of biggotry against anyone who doesnt conform to the left wing point of view on everything from foriegn policy to religion.

Get ready folks, its going to be a disturbing ride!

The good news is, thanks to

The good news is, thanks to the Internet and sites like this, that these kinds of rants are now exposed beyond the intended audience.

He'd probably describe himself as an enlightened progressive, champion of diversity, understanding and peace.  But now instead of just playing to his nutty San Francisco libs, this guy provides a more accurate picture of the true liberal mindset to the nation.

Wow, that's quite the, um,

Wow, that's quite the, um, enlightend, analysis.

Aside from the hypocrisy of using stereotypical, hate-filled rhetoric to criticize what he perceives as stereotypical, hate-filled conservatives, where does this guy get this stuff?  Evidently anyone outside of San Francisco is sitting at home in the double-wide, picking their nose, watching NASCAR and sleeping with their sister.

Does anyone on the Left even consider that conservatives are not "hugely terrified of the notion of a black liberal president" but that we're terrified of a "liberal president."

I won't vote for Obama because of his extreme leftist views and utter weakness on the War on Terror.  It has nothing to do with him personally (he seems like a nice enough guy) or his skin color.

Run a true Reagan conservative and I'll vote for him (or her) no matter his or her skin color.

Nail hit Sublight

To them, the R for Republican stands for racism but they're the ones who always bring up the subject of race. The left cannot wrap their brains around the fact that the right doesn't care about one's race.

Someone asked me the other day if I'd vote for Senator McCain if he put former Representative J.C. Watts on the ticket. "Hell yes," I exclaimed. It'd be the only way I would because Mr. Watts is CONSERVATIVE.

As far as the hate-filled anti-Christian rant. Well, that's typical elitist liberal "feeling" rather than thinking. I'm becoming more and more convinced that liberalism is more a reglion than a political movement.

"That's just my opinion. I could be wrong." - Dennis Miller

Someone asked me the other day if I'd vote for Senator McCain if he put former Representative J.C. Watts on the ticket. "Hell yes," I exclaimed. It'd be the only way I would because Mr. Watts is CONSERVATIVE.

And you know damn well that the left would howl that he's a token, he's an Uncle Tom, he's not a "real" black, he's allowing himself to be used, a house....uh....slave....etc.

Because being "black" is not a skin color....it's a set of political beliefs. If one doesn't subscribe to the "approved" beliefs, one isn't black.

If you go by skin color, Obama is only half-black. But he has the right "belief system" so he is black enough for the race hustlers.

Not only is he half black.....but

He's got a non-citizen father and a citizen mother. Interesting. What was that thread we had the other day? Panama Canal zone? Pales in comparison to the argument for B. Hussein's qualifications for President. Wouldn't it be.....um....shall I say DELICIOUS if the Dems weak attack at Juan McCain would turn around and disqualify the Wonder Boy?

Side Note......Dallas Morning News endorses Gomer Pyle for President.

Stultus est sicut stultus facit

The insightful analysis here is refreshing

Mother, you're right. You're only black if you're liberal. If you're black and conservative you're an Oreo. One more point which proves what we're all saying here, race is important only to liberals and irrelevant to conservatives.

"I'd rather be governed by the first 2,000 people in the Boston telephone directory than the 2,000 faculty at Hardvard Unversity." - William F. Buckley Jr.

These people are nowhere

These people have nothing without their deluded fantasy that Republicans hate blacks.

make Republicans look like the party of old, white, sexist, racist, classist warmongering men they very much are. -Morford (emphasis added)

It really bothers me that they can throw out ridiculous slanders like this and instead of being hooted out of the room, their cohorts just smugly nod and and say "that's right."

And their retort to criticism is "prove that you're NOT a racist (or sexist, or whatever)!" This Alice-in-Wonderland backward system that they get to make accusations without a shred of evidence, and it's up to the other guy to "prove" that it's not true, is a very disturbing development in political discourse in this country.

Nothing more lonely and

Nothing more lonely and ignored than a Republican in the Peoples Democratic Socialist Republic of Maryland. I voted for Michael Steele, a black, very capable conservative who served as Lt/ Governor to Ehrlich. He was trashed up and down as a sell out Uncle Tom. As long as they are conservative I will vote for them. Race doesn't matter, except to a democrat.

....as the slightest

....as the slightest slip-up in demonizing Obama's skin color......

And there's a big point.  His 'race' is skin deep.  BO was raised by a white mother in Hawaii and later had an elite education.  With his background he has more in common with john kerry and john edwards than al sharpton and jesse jackson.

The only racism and sexism

The only racism and sexism I see going on is on the (d)emocrat side. Theirs is the party that always uses wedge and devisive issues like these to tear people apart. I for one am glad to see it doing it to their party now.

We conservatives and Republicans have always judged people by their viewpoints, not how they look. We don't say that if you don't vote for someone who is black or a woman that you are a racist or a sexist. Not so for libs, neoprogs, and (d)emocrats.

Is every liberal who didn't vote for Liz Dole a sexist? Is every liberal who didn't vote for Michael Steele or Lynn Swann or Kenneth Blackwell racists? Well according to their own writings and gnashing of teeth: yes. All you libs and neoprogs who don't vote for black HATE blacks. I'm just using your own logic against you.

You support the troops by supporting the mission! If you don't support the mission, have the guts to say you don't support the troops.

AMERICA BEWARE!  These are

AMERICA BEWARE!  These are the type of people who want to ‘rule’ America in the next four years, if not the rest of the century.

A liberal mind is a terrible thing to waste – but let’s try.

The pot vs. the kettle

The pot calling the kettle black. It's ironic that the "liberal" hate machine attacks with such stereotypes. This is the ignorance of our "jounalists" in action. These closed-minded dolts are spewing their sewage in our media every day of the week. They are so dumb, they don't even get Obama's phony message of "unity" among "all" Americans. If they did, they'd at least support the lie instead of actually demonstrating what a canard it is.

More Irony: The guy quotes a disgruntled teacher in a high school. It is ironic that so many teachers are seeing the results of our "liberal" educational system. For forty years the "basics" have been ignored for a social curriculum which has produced nothing but mush and ignorance in the minds of our young people. And if you believe Obama is going to "change" this, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. This very ignorance is what may ultimately get him elected. Ironic.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

He's right about "the

He's right about "the slightest slip-up".Just calling Obama a black dude could end the election and send us all to sensitivity training.

»→ Race issue

Race  "This is the card the right will have to play very, very carefully"

I take it Mr. Mofo is directing our attention to how deftly his own party is playing the race card.

♣ a seal

"Obama is a Christian

"Obama is a Christian who never worshiped at a mosque and was raised in a secular household. He attends the United Church of Christ."

So he's also one of the...

“the creepy clowns in organized religion’s gloomy circus, all scrunched brows and gnarled hands and so much repressed sexuality it would make a porn star wince.”

These hatemongers really need to decide on the party line when it comes to religion.

Unless they are saying that the only good Christian is a black Christian. Could liberals be that racist? Really?

Vote 4 change. Vote 4 anything. See Jack & Mr Shy's first campaign ad for the ONLY viable 3rd party candidate.

Jack

"Unless they are saying that the only good Christian is a black Christian. Could liberals be that racist? Really?"

I didnt want to be the one to tell you Jack.Yes they are that racist. That is why they are constantly apply it to everyone else.It deflects it off themselves.Because if you take a close look they are the ones always bringing up the issue. They think we all think like them.Best defense if a strong offense.

Not black, Jack (no pun

Not black, Jack (no pun intended LOL)....the only good Christian is a "Social (read: liberal) Christian. They don't think anyone should be "judgmental" about abortion, or adultery, or even lying. But they reserve the right to call you "unChristian" if you don't support "universal health care" or their so-called "living wage" or "affordable housing"......

Talk about the race card.

Interesting that while predicting that conservatives will play the race card Mr. Morford in fact plays that card himself.

And he apparently doesn't see it. He ignores the fact that it has been liberals who've endulged in all the very conduct he decries rather than those troglodytical folks in the right-wing so far this election. Talk about out of touch with reality!

Its a great example of enlightened thinking from the left.

Morford a Marxist

His preference for BO means he wants a totalitarian form of government and admires Marxism, which promotes elitists as god (atheism) and Muslims as the invading, conquering hordes. It's as simple as that. But they'll cut off his hands and cut out his tongue the same as anyone else's. Now that's true equality, Morford, and hell on earth.

I liked the cartoon I saw...

...where two guys were discussing politics:

1st guy: "So what do you think about Obama?"

2nd guy: "Well, I disagree with his healthcare proposal..."

1st guy: (Screams) "RACIST!" Typical lib arguement.

But anyway, back to the issue...it is very obvious the Dem/Libs cast a wide net around, seeking someone to counter Ann Coulter.  Perhaps like, every time the president gives a speech on TV, there is a "Democratic Response." Now there will be a "Monfort Response" to anything Ann Coulter does.

The problem with this new Dem concept is that nobody can out-Coulter our lovely and gracious Ann, and for this unfunny clown to try to do so just makes him look silly and his Lib handlers desperate

El Pathetico...El Stupido...El Dumbo

Tim, this country is not yet ready for a black president.

And the immaturity of Mark Morford and his fellow travelers on the left is the reason why.

The left has literally wrapped this man in a cocoon to the point where, not only are we not allowed to mention his middle name, we apparently are not permitted to ask the man any pointed questions, either. I am sorry, but I want to know as much as possible about a person who is vying to become what is essentially the leader of the free word. Apparently the left is going to do all it can to prevent us from finding out much of anything, as no matter what we ask, or how we ask it, will be immediately dismissed as being racial in nature. Too many on the left have come to define racism as anything said that disagrees with a person of color.

Most of the the feminists (and I realize their were some exceptions) pretty much backed off when it became apparent that Hillary was being treated pretty much like "one of the guys."

Not so with Barack Obama.

I think we still have a ways to go yet.

John McCain is a liberal. He said so himself.

Much less an apostate muslim

Much less an apostate muslim president.

A perfect example of Obama "unity"...

...politics.  See how nice the Dems have become?  Next thing you know Mr. Morford will be inviting a young conservative home to dinner - just to prove he's hip to the "hope" shtick.

(Irony Alert!  After Obama's legions spewed Morford-like hate against Bush for seven straight years, now they think that maybe its time for everyone to start getting along.  Just in time to get Obama elected!  And anyone who criticizes their man is either a hate monger, a racist, or both.)
