Two Morning Puke Points on 'Today'

Photo of Tim Graham.

There were at least two completely sickening moments for conservatives on the Monday Today show. At the show's open, all the excitement about Ted Kennedy endorsing Barack Obama bubbled over after talk of co-host Meredith Vieira touring London with the royals. Ann Curry proclaimed: "We'll be checking in with Meredith in London in just a moment. Good morning, Meredith. But let's begin with American royalty - the Kennedys."

I'm sure conservatives would like that to be a trap-door phrase or a Nerf ball-pasting phrase -- the Kennedys as America's royal family. Obama being endorsed by Ted Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, and Caroline Kennedy? Obama should say "Only Caroline is allowed to drive me." Then there's Paul Begala with his usual embarrassing over-praise of Bill Clinton, who's now Tom Brady:

MATT LAUER: Let's take it the way we've got it in the boxes here. I'm asking for a one sentence answer to this, Joe I'll start with you. Right now is Bill Clinton helping or hurting Hillary Clinton?

JOE KLEIN: He's hurting her, he's hurting her and hurting himself.

LAUER: Alright, Paul, what's the answer?

PAUL BEGALA: Is Tom Brady hurting the Patriots? C'mon he's the best player ever lived. Of course he's helping. He helps any cause he lends himself to.

Let's hope Begala has been well-paid for making statements that are so fawning they make Bambi blush. Clinton would probably like the Tom Brady analogy, since he's fathered children by two different women. Most football fans outside of Boston would certainly take exception at the implication that Brady is the best player who ever lived.

(Clinton might say it depends on the definition of "player.")

Begala then turned even more desperate in tone, suggesting that some in the media hate Clinton so much, it's like mental illness:

LAUER: Paul is Bill Clinton being held to a different standard because he is a former president? Politics is a tough business. All campaigns feed the press negative stories. They all hint, as Joe Klein just said, at things. Is he different because he's supposed to be a uniter, not a divider?

BEGALA: Well I think he's different because he's a former president but he's also different because there are some in the commentary who just hate him, Matt. And that's not just me. Craig Crawford who's an analyst with National Journal, who's written books defending the press against politicians who attack them, said that the anti-Clinton hatred, to his mind borders on mental illness. The truth is there's an arrogance about pretending that South Carolina is about Bill Clinton.

LAUER: But who hates him, Paul? I mean --BEGALA: Maybe, maybe, maybe voters voted for Barack because they like Barack. Why are patronizing Senator Obama? He ran a great campaign, he's a world class talent. And maybe they like Bill and Barack but they voted for Barack against Hillary. Why can't we entertain that notion?

Royal Family?

Only one Kennedy was ever president.  Yet two Bushes were president.  W was a governor before he was president, GHWB was Veep, Jeb's been a governor...

Looks like the Bushes kick ass royally over the Kennedys!

(And none of them ever left a woman to drown, and then bribed there way out of trouble)

mattm... Here! Here!

mattm...

Here! Here!

And don't forget, when Joe

And don't forget, when Joe Sr. was running bootleg liquor like a common criminal, GHWB father was a US Senator.

Craig Crawford is and has

Craig Crawford is and has been in the bag for the Clintoon team from day one, he is no different than Begala or Carville...all of these critters IMHO are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, the likes of the msm have made them seem that way...as if they are the brightest bulbs themselves...

This whole thing stinks of obvious desperation....

I love it myself.

LOL, bigtimer. Crawford has been outed for the phony he is.

Did you see the thread a couple of days ago, where I discovered that Crawford updated his Wiki profile immediately after he claimed the Clintons weren't being racist?

He set up a new headline of "CONTROVERSY", and then presented his "not racism" points.

The best part came later.  Crawford appeared again on Morning Joe and made a fool of himself by interrupting and shouting down anyone who disagreed with him.   Then, WITHIN MINUTES, he went back and "updated" his new category, making himself appear to be logical and reasoned against questionable opponents.

But I saw the segment, and I can attest that Crawford is a blatant liar.

Good work RJ!

Good work RJ!

You nailed that one,

You nailed that one, RJ!!

and I gotta get out of here.  Between what the postings are about, and the technical site problems...I can't take any more.

I'm in serious need of some duct tape!

AAAARRRGH!!!

"...Kennedys as America's

"...Kennedys as America's royal family."

Absolutely!  Drunken gasbags, clueless inbreds. Works for me.

Now THAT'S more like it

If you're gonna compare Kennedy's to royalty, you need to be accurate about it. Point to a royal family that hasn't had more than it's share of ne'er-do-well's, miscreants and pervs...in that sense, the Kennedy's are royalty. And that doesn't even touch the Kennedys that are NOT politicians.

Paul Begala...Rush calls him "The Forehead". Rush is wrong on this one...Begala has a FIVEhead.

I see

Apparently NBC doesn't see anything wrong with getting a former Clinton staffer (whose bias was so obvious even CNN dumped him) to come on their network and pretend to be objective.

ROFL comparing Bill Clinton to Tom Brady. Does that mean we can call Obama Eli Manning?

Re: the Kennedys being royalty, no surprise there. Having lots of money, being popular for doing nothing, and getting away with murder - sounds like royalty to me.

American Royalty Kennedy Clan

Didn't they used to call drunken, fighting, inbreeding, sexing anything that moved, criminals, Irish Travelers?

I suppose if liberals like that sort of royal thing it makes sense why they loved Bill Clinton so much.

In reality, I DETEST royalty as it should nauseate any true American with it's caste system, above the law mentality and the thinking that any person is better than another.
Begala should be slapped soundly as thousands of Americans were slaughtered throwing off that "royalty" and over 500,000 died in the Civil War when the European royals with their banking clique fomented that war in order to break up the United States.

Will stop there as I don't need to get my blood pressure up over a dunce like Begala.

Ring,

Ring, ring.

"Hello."

"Hillary, it's Paul.  You saw that I got banned through the primaries from your network, didn't you?"

"Paul, I had nothing to do with that.  It was Bill's idea."

"Well, I'll try to understand, but you've got to find me some work somewhere or I'll go on Fox and start telling some stories."

"Paul, c'mon, we've always taken care of you and Jim, haven't we?  No need for threats.  Let me call some people at ABC or NBC, we'll get you some time."

"Ok, I'll be standing by.  Don't wait too long."

"Don't worry."  Click.

Ring, ring.

"Hello, NBC!"

"Put the Forehead on somewhere, fast!"  Click.

Don't be so snippy

American Royalty comes from the whole Camelot myth and a very active political family cannot be denied.  If you don't like that reference then you must hate:

America's Mayor

Straight Talker

Compassionate Conservative

These nicknames serve their people well...so lay off the Kennedy clan.  And it is true that you'll hear from every member of congress that Ted is the hardest working and respected member of the deliberative body.  That counts for something if even conservatives respect him.

Politics aside

..........character defines a man more than aything, and a man that leaves a helpless young woman to drown just to save his career,is SCUM in my book. End of story.

Begala

Is so irrelevant, why even have him on? He adds absolutely nothing to any network. His Clinton love-fest has run his course, he will say ANYTHING to get air time.
