The website The Black Commentator defined the loony left by calling for the end of the Thanksgiving holiday, since it's apparently an event for white supremacists. This is more about the Internet than the mainstream media, but remember that liberal blacks the news producers treat as sensible pundits -- like Julian Bond of the hallowed NAACP and Julianne Malveaux, the woman who hoped on PBS that Clarence Thomas would die young -- are on this website's board. Here's just a snippet of their anti-Thanksgiving rant:
Nobody celebrates Thanksgiving quite like Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. It is reserved by history and the intent of "the founders" as the supremely white American holiday, the most ghoulish event on the national calendar. No Halloween of the imagination can rival the exterminationist reality that was the genesis, and remains the legacy, of the American Thanksgiving. It is the most loathsome, humanity-insulting day of the year – a pure glorification of racist barbarity.
We at BC are thankful that the day grows nearer when the almost four centuries-old abomination will be deprived of its reason for being: white supremacy. Then we may all eat and drink in peace and gratitude for the blessings of humanity’s deliverance from the rule of evil men...Thanksgiving encourages these cognitive cripples in their madness.
Cognitive cripples, heal thyself. (HT: Dan Gainor)

HATING AMERICA'S TRADITIONS...
November 25, 2007 - 17:44 ET by danybhoyAnything that is traditional in America today is despised by the MSM & the liberal/progressive lefties as a whole because it's not fair to celibrate our traditions. We exploited someone or something in getting to that point, so nobody should enjoy anything.

November 25, 2007 - 23:58 ET by merlin61danybhoy, you are right, we can't enjoy anything amymore, it makes the left too unhappy to see others having fun and being decent to each other.
Hatred of anything and everthing and everybody
is the new leftist goal. Fun and happiness is
out in their minds, so lets make them miserable
and continue celebrating and bragging about
how we celebrate.

November 25, 2007 - 17:50 ET by Sonny LykosAt 65, I can say that the most vicious people are children, from a young age up to and including teenagers. That said, these people still have the emotional mind of those children, and is why they act exactly as they do. They have simply never matured in a normal way into adulthood. I feel sorry for them because they are pathetic people. They are emotionally stunted. As they might say: "emotionally challenged."

November 25, 2007 - 20:15 ET by GregEI had a great Thanksgiving. Time spent with family around a table of great food. What a great day, what a great celebration, a time of giving thanks for all the blessings in my life. I did that, and oddly, I didn't pay attention to my skin color in making that decision.
Oh sorry, did the Black Commentator say something, and was it irrelevant? Likely.
Now if you'll excuse me, there's some turkey waiting for me to put on a sandwich! MMMMMMm, mmmmm good!!

"Nobody celebrates Thanksgiving quite like Americans celebrate "
November 25, 2007 - 21:14 ET by FastEdDoes this moron have ANY sense or knowledge of the day? Ask around stupid, the french don't celebrate the day, the english don't, nor the germans - sorry, all "white" countries - do the Nambians, Liberians, Etheopians, South Africans, etc. celebrate the day? If you need to hate the american way, which btw, has more inclusion than any, ANY other nation in the world, then perhaps . . .
There is no sense in being stupid, if you can't prove it! - my dad V

Kwanzaa
November 26, 2007 - 07:10 ET by heldmywPretty much takes care of itself...
"...Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI stooge,
Ron Karenga, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of
United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers
and a dupe of the FBI....
Kwanzaa itself
is a lunatic blend of schmaltzy '60s rhetoric, black racism and
Marxism. Indeed, the seven "principles" of Kwanzaa praise
collectivism in every possible arena of life -- economics, work,
personality, even litter removal. ("Kuumba: Everyone should
strive to improve the community and make it more beautiful.") ...
When Karenga
was asked to distinguish Kawaida, the philosophy underlying Kwanzaa,
from "classical Marxism," he essentially explained that
under Kawaida," we also hate whites". While taking the "best
of early Chinese and Cuban socialism" -- which one assumes
would exclude the forced abortions, imprisonment for homosexuals
and forced labor -- Kawaida practitioners believe one's racial
identity "determines life conditions, life chances and self-understanding."
There's an inclusive philosophy for you."

November 26, 2007 - 12:08 ET by paperheadThe left hates all of the holidays we celebrate as a nation. While traveling last week for the holiday, I was watching the Disney channel and they had an episode of Pooh and Tigger where they were celebrating "Many Thanks" day. They couldn't even bring themselves to saying "Thanksgiving". I said to myself, why don't they just admit they are doing a Thanksgiving themed show? The left is nuts folks. There's no debating that.

Thanksgining Hatred
November 27, 2008 - 13:19 ET by ApplyCSI guess there is enough here in America for BC and their ilk to benefit. Such as free speech to berate the country than has afforded their choice, even the ill mannered.
Funny it is not bad enough for them to leave this [“the supremely white American holiday, the most ghoulish event on the national calendar”] very bad place. They have the freedom of choice to leave.
Let’s say Somalia – now this might give them pause to be thankful – Nah!
Do you think the Pilgrims and Indians where sitting around the after dinner table talking football, games, or maybe how they were glad they di’nt [sic] invite the African-new-settlers to there almost all white dinner?
To 'all' a Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours in the spirit of its original intent. God bless us all.

November 27, 2008 - 15:20 ET by JDWRegardless of the challenges we are confronting, Thanksgiving is the ideal time to sit back and realize what we have to be thankful for. Irregardless of the incessant negatives we face daily from the libs and/or news media, we cannot allow their fear forces to focus on our lives. We must enjoy what we do have and face our challenges head on. Why wouldn't we want our families to do the same?
Happy Thanksgiving
