In Monday's New York Times, reporter Patrick Healy described how Democrats pandered to a Latino audience during their debate on the Spanish-language channel Univision (although candidates spoke in English): "They expressed concerns that Republicans were enabling anti-immigrant feelings and even racist attitudes, or at least not taking a tougher stand against them." Hillary Clinton blamed media people for those anti-Latino and even racist attitudes:
Mrs. Clinton said legislative proposals to overhaul the immigration system, which all the Democrats at the debate endorsed, had been used by Republicans and some in the news media to "bash immigrants" and engage in demagoguery. Later, Mrs. Clinton added: "There are many in the political and frankly in the broadcast world today who take a particular aim at our Latino population. I think it’s very destructive." A spokesman for Mrs. Clinton said after the debate that she was referring to the CNN anchor Lou Dobbs and the radio host Rush Limbaugh, among others.
Hillary apparently also repeated the line that GOP proposals to stem the tide of illegal immigration "would have criminalized the Good Samaritan. It would have criminalized Jesus Christ." The Times account didn't include this, but CNN.com does. That story also adds that Hillary's attack on Dobbs and Limbaugh also included the thought that criticizing illegal immigrants "undermines our unity as a country."
Would Hillary consider that maybe the act of illegal immigration undermines American unity? Isn't it odd that she's pandering to potential voters on a Spanish-language channel and fussing about the lack of national unity?

Hillary's really pathetic
September 11, 2007 - 08:00 ET by ThisnThatHillary's the one fueling anti-immigrant feelings by purposely not distinguishing between illegal and legal. I, frankly, don't think she understands the difference. Everything she does is so shady (Hsu, anyone? Mysterious billing records anyone? Cattle futures, anyone? Anyone?), that she probably thinks any law-abiding citizen is up to no good.
She has not done anything for the good of this country. Every one of her actions; every breath she takes; every step she takes; is calculated for personal, political purposes. What a transparent windbag.

Exactly! I don't know a
September 11, 2007 - 08:35 ET by BeowulfExactly! I don't know a single person who is against immigration or immigrants. I, and most, if not all, people I know are against ILLEGAL ALIENS. These are not immigrants. These are not simply hard-working people trying to better themselves. These are not any of the heart-wrenching sob-stories some people would have us believe. I'm talking about criminals - people who are not contributing to our nation and economy. I'm talking about people who are here illegally by breaking our immigration laws. I'm talking about people who break more of our laws by stealing American's social security numbers to work (and many who don't even bother), again illegally. I'm talking about people who send their illegal earnings out of our country, benefitting theirs and draining ours. And forget the rhetoric that "they pay taxes". Yeah, right. The few who have STOLEN social security numbers to work ILLEGALLY at minimum-wage jobs either pay very little or nothing in taxes. And the little paid in taxes doesn't even come within a light-year of the money being siphoned out of this country as "remittance" to relatives or whatever, nor does it begin to cover the costs of education and health care they incur. I'm talking about people straining our education system and demanding we cater to them in language and culture. I'm talking about people who suck up our medical resources while many true Americans can't see a doctor. I'm talking about the people who are creating and fueling this divisiveness themselves just by being here in the first place (and waving foreign flags whle marching in protest, claiming to be Americans and demanding benefits and jobs doesn't endear them to many Americans either). It isn't Americans and anti-Latino sentiment. We're supposed to be here. They're not. It's that simple. And I'm tired of this BULL$H!T about since they're already here, and many have been here for some time, they should be allowed to stay, and at the same time, bumping many people in the legal immigration line back, often clear out of the line to start over from scratch. I don't want to hear how hard working they are. I don't want to hear that they do jobs Americans won't do (open those jobs to Americans and see how many jump for them). I don't want to hear how hard or tragic their lives are in their home countries. Those are not America's problems, and there are procedures in place to address them. All these ILLEGAL ALIENS need to do is get in line like all of the IMMIGRANTS and no one will have any cause to "bash" them.

I.D. is no big deal, let me tell you my horror story. I lost my drivers license
in Va in 1974, (VA use to use your SS# for your driver’s license), picked up by
a convict that has been arrested in VA and Fl. some 13 times. I had my taxes
audited for 10 years,(going back 10 years) don’t believe that 7 year line. The man using my ID was on a prison
release program and filing the money he made in prison under my name and SS#.
He got married under my name and SS# !!!!!!!!! She went to divorce him/me.. and I was
served papers from Fl. for support of the kids..
I was denied a drivers license in NJ because he had stolen a
car in Fl, as well as putting bad plates on the stolen car. I was told that I
could not drive in any state in the Union.
When I went for a conceal permit I was told that I was on
the State Department (bad list, what ever that is..) It took weeks to fix that
problem.
In the mid 1980’s I had had enough, I went to the Va State
police, they told me that because “he” was in Fl. they could not do anything. I
called the Fl state police, because “I” was in Va they could not do anything. I
called the FBI, (I’m not kidding here) they said it was no big deal and they
could not be involved, they said to call the state police. I tracked him down
via his work logs at the places he worked on prison release from the Tarpron Springs Corr. Fac. Then gave the info
to the IRS, (I’m not kidding again) they told me that he does not make enough
money to bother with!!!!!!!!! I told them I make enough to screw with for 10
years!!!! Once while being audited, I showed the guy that I have worked at this
one place for almost 10 years, he looked at the screen and said maybe you went
to Fl. to work at the “Big T tire center” for my vacation!! I asked him where
does he go on vacation? And does it involve changing tires?????
I could write for pages all the hassle I have gone through.
I have a file that is two inches thick!
I found out all this info on him with out the help of
computers.

She understands the difference
September 11, 2007 - 09:26 ET by mattmWhat she is counting on is the ignorance of voters who will take her accusation as evidence of her compassion for minorities and of the bigotry of the right. The facts of illegal vs. legal don't matter; it's just an image or an impression she is trying to convey.
This is another great example of Hillary (as per DNC playbook)engaging in the very bigotry and demagoguery she is in the process of accusing others of. It's another "tell a lie often enough" moment. Only idiots and Democrats can be fooled by it.
Serious brain-damage!
September 11, 2007 - 08:12 ET by HelenSYesterday on Yahoo!, in their news items I believe, I saw a headline that said something about our choice of polital party affiliation may be genetically determined (or hard wired) in our brains. I didn't go read it so I don't know what it's particular twist was.
In an attempt to find it, I just went to google and did a search on political+brain. I can't tell you how nauseating some of those assinine articles are that I turned up. Surprise surprise surprise the most irritating and fatuous were somehow linked to the New York Times.
If I could overcome my gag reflex (or is it an almost overwhelming urge to do some serious bodily harm to a brain-dead democrat?) I'd try to give y'all the gist of what they say but it is so disgusting and absolutely screams bias that I don't feel right doing that to you.
It does, however, offer you a fetid and putrid window into the cess-pool they call their minds. And it actually explains why they are so abyssmally out of touch with reality. It would literally defy the known laws of nature to try to get them to see reason. You might as well try to teach a rock to type as get them to embrace logic and reason.
(Understand, I am striving here to express my absolute disgust of these life-forms and am failing miserably in the attempt.)

September 11, 2007 - 08:38 ET by Senior ChiefDid we just read an article last month saying that democracks are more intelligent than republicans because they read more books (or to that effect). Golly, what books are these leftoids reading and what happened to their brains?!
At any rate, talking about pandering to latinos and illegals...will Hillary- and same goes to all presidential democrack candidates- allow illegal aliens to be their next-door neighboors? Will they open their houses to have these illegals as their house guests for long period of time? Will they remove their houses' windows, doors and fences to let them in and out freely? Will they let them stay in their own basements and allow to raise pigs and chickens? Will Hillary and the democracks spend their OWN money to send these people to school, hospital treatments, welfare dole-out, etc.?
Maybe, just MAYBE...

That statement is an absolute outrage!!! Who panders the most, Hillary? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Who got her husband to pardon convicted, murdering terrorists to get more New York Puerto Rican votes for you, the carpetbagging phoney? Without so much as a peep from your lapdog media. Or, I could use a more disgusting metaphor when it comes to them sucking up to your scumbag husband. What a team you make! It must be hard to outdo each other in the pander, lie, betray, sleaze, back-stab, and cheat-to-come-out-on-top category, huh?

Why does she like criminals so much?
September 11, 2007 - 09:10 ET by rbchaffeWhat is it with Hillary and criminals? She wants to let convicted felons vote. She accepts campaign money from criminals. Now she panders to the illegal immigrants.
Supposedly she is a lawmaker, yet she has no respect for the law.

One World Federal Reserve
September 11, 2007 - 09:22 ET by StokeyBobI believe both major parties are controlled by the same
group of bankers.
A group of bankers and businessmen had been trying to
monopolize the banking industry. In 1912 Woodrow Wilson was elected President
with the aid of a bribe from them.
They formed the Federal Reserve and are like our personal
credit cards are for us except they are the credit card for the government.
Well that and they pay no taxes that I know of. Anyway they’re at about at
their 100-year anniversary.
They have grown to proportions that I believe they now
control many of the politicians of the world. Not only can they buy politicians
of both parties here, and control our borders, they can also control much of
our spending.
Have you ever wondered why our once great nation has been
spending money the way it does. It is sort of like how it would be to have a
hundred wives on your credit cards and all of them dating those that own the
credit card companies.
They make money when they lend money.
"I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my
country.
A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit.
Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation,
therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men.
We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by
conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by
the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men."

September 11, 2007 - 21:01 ET by MikeBHillary sure sounds like tumbler: any mention of illegal immigrants being, by definition, criminals, and you are an extreme right wing, racist, white supremacist. It matters not to the open borders crowd that there are plenty of LEGAL immigrants, both hispanic and non-hispanic that are and were opposed to the shamnesty bill. I was going to tell Hillary to wake up, quit alienating the legal immigrants that have become citizens, that illegal immigrants don't vote. But, then, I realized that in the sactuary cities that the illegals are allowed and encouraged to vote, although it is against the law.
