As reported earlier by Noel Sheppard, the drive-by media that previously downplayed Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos has changed it's tune now that Barack Obama's campaign is blaming the Limbaugh effect for keeping Hillary Clinton in the race.
Too bad for Keith Olberman and MSNBC because they apparently missed the memo; instead choosing to do a segment refuting the effect altogether. Last night Olbermann openly mocked Rush Limbaugh alongside his sidekick Chris Matthews who was honking in the background with giddy joy at the prospect of Limbaugh's failure. (video at Webloggin)
Olbermann: We mentioned it several times. It appears not to exist whatsoever. The ah, what is his name again, the "Limm-bow" effect?
Matthews: He Ha Ha
Olberman: Nora.
Nora O'Donnell: Now Chris and Keith, I might just wager that this is going to be your most favorite of all of the exit poll numbers that I have for you. So I want you to listen to every single word. Ok? Because we did some interesting studying about this.
O'Donnell proceeded to refute the Limbaugh effect using the crack analysis she alluded to in the ramp up to "the study". Olbermann then confirmed that it was indeed his favorite exit poll numbers; "it was thoroughly consistent with my assessment of the person for which the information is named". He went on to provide another nugget of wisdom with his own analysis.
Olbermann: In other words the Republicans voting in Indiana favored Senator Clinton 52/46, the hard count of everybody in Indiana right now has Senator Clinton favored 54/46. You following that?
Matthews: Yeah ah I
Olbermann: In other words the Republicans supported Senator Clinton less than everybody else must have.
Huh? For a guy that doesn't generally make much sense Keith Olbermann showed us that his ability to make even less sense is still well within reach. It also demonstrates that the moon-Batman and Robin team over at MSNBC let their bias override intelligent thought once again. (I'm beginning to see a trend.)
Contrast the MSNBC approach with that of the much maligned Fox News that simply reported the Obama campaign's assertion. (all emphasis mine)
Barack Obama’s campaign issued an e-mail on Tuesday night that appeared to relegate Hillary Clinton’s lead in Indiana to efforts by Rush Limbaugh to wreak havoc in the Democratic presidential primary contest.
In an e-mail entitled “The Limbaugh Effect in Indiana = 7 percent,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton wrote: “According to the latest exit polling data, 17 percent of voters in the Indiana primary today said they would vote for John McCain in a Clinton/McCain match-up. Forty-one percent of that number is constituted by people who voted Clinton in the primary but also indicated they will vote for McCain in the general election. That comes out to just under 7 percent of the primary electorate the number that may be attributed to a Limbaugh Effect.”
This e-mail appears to have been the signal that allowed other drive-bys in the MSM to reverse direction and openly admit what they have been fearing all along. And that fear has now become a global phenomenon. We'll have to wait and see how long it takes MSNBC to catch up.

May 8, 2008 - 12:37 ET by danybhoyIn many ways, it reminds me of a TV version of Radio Havanna Cuba. They do their news programming, with some biting commentary, kinda reminds me of BathTubBoy's "Special Comments" . I'm just saying...

That's our Keith...a day late and a dollar short.
So just as Obama is saying there was mischief afoot, Olbie is out there saying he lost fair and square.
I wish Rush would just hurry up and buy Olbermann.
May 7, 2008 - 22:10 ET by R D HelmThen he could pack him off to Siberia, and it wouldn't even change the numbers in Rush's bank account.

May 7, 2008 - 22:31 ET by MightyMouthOlberloon isn't even a zit on Rush's "sizeable" (his words) rump! I have listened to Rush for a while and have never heard "what's his name" mentioned. Even BOR doesn't know who Mr. "Yawn in bed" is. Olbermann is a doof, dunce, DH and pathetic looooser! Has he EVER had a despot Dictator as his worse, worst, worser looser? No he always chooses people who he disagrees with! Pretty telling don't you think?
"There are two types of people in this country; those who provide freedom and those who enjoy it." MM says...
MM, and I bet the fact that Rush won't mention his name...
May 8, 2008 - 23:25 ET by R D Helm...has got to be driving Keithie crazy.
Heck, even BOR mentioned it once or twice.

Slipshod Political Hack
May 7, 2008 - 23:06 ET by Logic over emotionWhen he isn't down right lying Overbites two other weapons are hypocrisy and omission. He knows very well that Rush succeeded in putting Hilliary over the top but simply omitted the facts from the Obama campaign and John Kerry comments. He has the same four echo chambers on every night so no one is going to mention the facts.
If (God forbid) Obama wins the Presidency who will watch this orange faced hack? His whole shtick is Bush and O'Reilly. Half his audience will disappear which leaves 9 Kossacks and the guy that giggles at his witless jokes behind the camera.
I WONDER IF THAT COULD BE DONE...
May 9, 2008 - 05:44 ET by danybhoyI wonder if someone could buy out a contract of someone like BatTubBoy from NBC to get rid of him, at least for the duration of his current contract. People get bought out or buy themselves out of contracts all the time, so I wonder...
There is a down side, guys like George Soros, Peter Lewis, & Maurice Strong could do the same with conservative media types. Some are already saying that the trouble at Citidel Broadcasting(which carries Hannity & Levin) could be by design by wealthy libs buying Citidel from Disney a while back. I don't know if this is true. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but this might make sense considering how much money guys like Soros have plowed into the political system to defeat conservatives.

Nothing I have ever heard him say...before the complete boycott....was of substance. He reminds me of a loudmouth jerk you see in a bar who thinks he knows it all. I'd like to give him a slap!
