Just when I thought Obama lovin' was regulated to the political commentators and reporters at MSNBC, I was sadly mistaken. Even entertainment reporters need to show their support! June Sarpong, took some time on her appearance on "Morning Joe" today to gush about Obama's upcoming stops in Europe and talk about America losing its standing with the international community.

Sarpong was on the show to talk about the movie "Dark Night" setting box office records but who cares about movie records when we have Sen. Obama running for office! Since she's British, interviewer Willie Geist couldn't help but ask her how Obama's perceived in the U.K. Her response was a glowing endorsement of the Illinois senator. (Video below page break)

Partial transcripts:

JUNE SARPONG: What Barack Obama has done really well internationally is
sort of creating that rock star image and he is the candidate that people are rooting
for. One of the things is John McCain doesn't have much brand recognition outside
of the U.S. Whereas Barack, they know him, they all watched the first speech and
I think it's almost like he brings hope for people internationally to believe in America
again. So I think there is that.
WILLIE GEIST: So you've gotten the message, hope, hope and change.

JUNE SARPONG: Yeah and I think people internationally even more so than America have really.

GEIST: Isn't it partially that it's sort of the hip thing to do if you walk around the village in New York, all the hipsters with their Obama t-shirts. I'm not totally convinced they haven't investigated his policies that much. Do you think people know what he stands for?

SARPONG: Yeah, I think what it is in the U.K. because your foreign policy inevitably becomes ours. People have really checked out what he stands for. And in terms of withdrawal from Iraq and the same for Afghanistan, that is what British people are really rooting for, hoping for. And I think that is why they've bought into him. And what's weird, it's not just the hip people. A very small minority of us Brits are hip.

GEIST: Come on.

GEIST: There has been perception that America has lost its standing in the world. Is that true?

SARPONG: Definitely, in the last eight years there is a perception that America doesn't listen and does whatever it want to do, however it impacts the rest of the world and I do think what Britain is hoping for, we have become that critical friend, the friends that's honest with you, no matter what that means. That we won't be left off the guest list if we disagree with you.

GEIST: You're still invited. When I go overseas I was in France fairly recently, the people there, I got the sense they still love America. It's the leadership and what's happened the last couple of years.

SARPONG: Of course, America is, with out the doubt the leader as it were. I think people outside of America accept that. What they don't want is that bullish mentally, where America doesn't listen.
Maybe tomorrow a MSNBC meteorologist will take some time out from covering
Tropical Storm Dolly and tell us what they think about Obama?

 This fella doesn't speak

This fella doesn't speak for all of Britain any more than an equivalent knucklehead like Akers speaks for the United States.  We have a good relationship with our cousins the British, and they have about as sorry a relationship with their press as we do our MSM. Can't believe a word any of them writes, that's why they are fading out.

Short version: Europe (and

Short version: Europe (and the rest of "the world" LOVE America when we talk about issues, meet with our enemies, and have lots of international summits and treaties.

What the EU and the World hates most about Bush is that he actually dares to DO something rather than going thru symbollic but hollow gestures.

How many EU countries lived up to the Kyoto Accords anyway?

He did something in the

He did something in the interest of America first, that's what ticks them off more.

The euros want a US leader that they can bully for their own benefit.

A general rule, if the euros want someone then vote for the other person. They even thought Reagan was some nuke loving cowboy...

What they also fail to see, is that when the US is safe and prospering so is most of Europe.

The euros want a US leader

The euros want a US leader that they can bully for their own benefit.

Oh you mean like when we bypassed the UN and took NATO to war in the Europeans backyard of Bosnia?  If the EU can't defeat a little country like Bosnia they shouldn't get too concerned about our decisions.  They better leave the big decisions to the big guys.

We took NATO to war? Billy

We took NATO to war? Billy Boy just went in there and said come with me NATO troops?

I agree with the EU and Bosnia...But they do get concerned about our decisions....They do try and influence opinion. and the Dems buy into it. We need to "recapture America's standing in the world. Look the European's don't like us." They like us just fine when we help them out with aid and other support.

If there was an attack on Germany the size of 9/11by terrorists, I guarantee you that the German's and the EU would come a running to US.

Your Up!

Please, please, please keep reporting what Europeans think about Barak H. Obama. It's so important to Americans to know what a continent that has had two world wars and many, many tyrants and dictators think about one of our presidential candidates. The voters of my state and so many others in the heartland of the nation are waiting to see if Europeans approve of one candidate over the other.

Barry Hussein is one of them, and if he touts his special force that will be as well funded as the military, then Europeans will really like him. Afterall, they're the ones with a track record in that area. Barry should be very familiar to them if he continues to talk about that.

I always thought Europe was a sound people made when they upchucked.

What I love about the media

What I love about the media is their complete amnesia when it comes to facts that contradict their own political beliefs. Remember in 2004 when that UK newspaper had its British readers send emails to voters in an Ohio town telling them why they should vote for Kerry and not Bush? How did THAT work out?

As I said, the media has forgotten all about that and are about to repeat it (on a much larger scale) with the "Rock Star Obama" coverage.

It plays well in the NY/Washington bubble, but out here in "flyover country" this is going over only slightly better than Obama's "clinging to God and guns" comment.

Exactly!

And, "amnesia" is a perfect assessment of it.

I'm hoping they saturate their broadcasts with scenes Europeans hailing King Barry. I hope they are convinced of the false notion that Americans love to see how popular their candidates are overseas.

You're right. It didn't work for the French looking John "Frenchy" Kerry, and I don't think it will help the French acting Barry H. Obama, either.

Inconvenient truths?

Just when you thought "Obama lovin' was REGULATED to the political
commentators and reporters at MSNBC"? Perhaps you meant "limited"?

So Ms. Sarpong is a British reporter who got off-topic to share her perspective about responses to Obama abroad? She doesn't work for MSNBC, right? So where's the problem?

Or is it just one more example of the conservative penchant for attacking the messenger when confronted with inconvenient truths?

You are correct. The

You are correct. The Europeans are infatuated with Barack Obama, and I heavily agree with the discourse that only a reporter would like/vote for Barack. This is one more reason why I refuse to identify with the Republicans, as they are as extreme as the liberal left.

Well the last time I

Well the last time I checked, Newsbusters was about exposing liberal bias in the media.

Some call it's perspective, other's might call it a bias.

Hmmmmmmmm...Talking about Dark Knight and then get's asked about Obama, not too leading of a question...

Ag/De, I'm sorry but can

Ag/De,

I'm sorry but can you show us an example of a messenger on MSNBC who was NOT an Obama groupie?

People are not attacking the messenger.  The point is MSNBC is only providing ONE message and it's all-Obama-love-all-the-time.

Get the point now?

Brits dont want a bullish America?

then don't come running to us again whenever you feel like giving away half of Europe then you wake up the next morning to find the enemy 20 miles from your shores.

Europe

Europe is where many of our ancestors came from. That's it, that's all! Between continental war casualties and those who fled, the brain drain from the continent has been immense over the past 200 years. Those left are, well, they're the poor unfortunates who were just left behind really.

Here we are, a sovereign nation still,...

Here we are, a sovereign nation still, being subjected to criticism from people who have wilfully relinquished most of their personal and governmental freedoms to an anti-democratic Consilium of the EU. This Consisium micro-manages all of its members' lives to the point of requiring that member states continue their voting process until the desired outcome is reached. Heads, they win; tails, you lose.

The reporter said that everyone was excited about Senator Obama's arrival. It must not take much to excite and amuse them. It's a good thing.

"SARPONG: ...People have

"SARPONG: ...People have really checked out what he
stands for. And in terms of withdrawal from Iraq and the same for
Afghanistan, that is what British people are really rooting for, hoping
for."

So they "checked him out" and came to the conclusion that he wants to withdraw from Afghanistan?  He said he wants to increase troop numbers there.

So let's start from scratch and get real here.  This woman and probably many others like her overseas have no idea what Obama's policy positions are, but they like him anyway because of the rock star image.

It's as shallow as it could possibly get.

Sarpong

Sarpong is probably related to one of the groupies who fought with Winston Churchill about the coming of WWII. Churchill was right, they were wrong. McCain was right about the surge; Barry Obama was wrong. History repeats itself.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

P.S. Anyone who claims that the media is not in the tank for Obama is a being as dishonest and hypocritical as the media itself. Let's hope their blatant lies backfire on the creeps.

So they "checked him out"

So they "checked him out" and came to the conclusion that he wants to withdraw from Afghanistan?  He said he wants to increase troop numbers there.

If a Republican said he wanted to increase our troops in Afghanistan he would be labeled a 'chickenhawk war monger'. Of course, Obama gets a pass.

No dear, America makes it a point not to listen to stupidity. And as far as America doing what it wants to do, WELL DUH, a country does what is in its own best interest - obviously a concept which appears to go over your head.

I suggest that you stay away from politics and concentrate on reporting Fleet Street sleaze, which the Brits devour to the point of almost being a religious experience.
