Chris Wallace uncharacteristically gave Barack Obama's Chief Strategist, David Axelrod, carte blanche during his interview today on FOX News Sunday.
Failing to challenge Axelrod's avoidance in answering questions directly over and over again, and allowing him to go on and on with the standard Obama talking points, was strikingly different than the treatment Wallace gave to John McCain's Campaign Manager, Rick Davis, who he continually interrupted to challenge, sometimes even argued with, such as regarding when the McCain campaign was going to 'allow' Sarah Palin to be interviewed by the media.
And on Saturday's Beltway Boys, Mort Kondracke referred to Palin, McCain's VP running mate, as "that Wacko Right-winger". So much for 'fair and balanced' from the liberals at FOX News.
Alaska's Governor, Sarah Palin, the hockey mom with lipstick, seems to have liberals shaking in their boots every channel we turn to.

Yeah I noticed that too...
September 7, 2008 - 19:17 ET by smartestmaninamericaI've always thought of Chris Wallace as even-handed, but he was hitting McCain's guy with every Obama talking point available. I was actually shocked - especially when he said - "Ok, just admit it, John McCain really is just like George Bush..."
I was like, say what? that was harsh.
Sad to see Wallace choose sides like that. Was also disappointed at how unprepared Rick Davis was for the interview. But then again, Rick Davis makes a living at sticking his foot in his mouth.
What? Chris Wallace lets
September 7, 2008 - 19:18 ET by balboaWhat?
Chris Wallace lets someone drone on and on, and this somehow translates to Wallace "shaking" in his boots because of Palin?

September 8, 2008 - 17:06 ET by well99I can understand your taking a shot back at him.I dont understand this"other white people".I guess your on board with Howard Dean.I would say typical liberal but there are some real ones around and wont insult them by putting them in the same boat as you.
I just saw
September 7, 2008 - 19:19 ET by DEVILDOCMOMthe program a couple of hours ago and could not agree more with this assessment. I was really disappointed with Chris's interview...usually this program is one of my favorites.
I kept wondering why he did not push axelrod to answer and instead let him have his usual diarrhea of the mouth regrading bho. I kept thinking he would or he would reask a question, but it never happened.

September 7, 2008 - 19:24 ET by MrltavernMost of us already knew that Wallace is a stealth liberal playing the "fair and balanced" game over at Fox News.
After all, he is the meat loaf thrower's son.

Mrit... Couldn't agree

Couldn't agree more.
I too caught this today, but it sure didn't surprise me one bit.
Wallace showed his true colors today as far as I was concerned...but then again if you really look, it's always been there..of course Billy Clinton didn't see it that way...hehee...

Just a convention bounce?
September 7, 2008 - 19:43 ET by smartestmaninamericaUm, something dramatic has happened to this race and her name is Sarah Palin.
America is a Center | Right country. Because we only had an unreliable "Center" candidate (McCain), many people were willing to say, "Well, as long as I can't get what I want, maybe I'll try something new (Obama)".
But now with Palin, the McCain-Palin truly becomes Center | Right.
This is not a convention bounce - this is a sea-change. Watch and see.
I have to agree
September 7, 2008 - 19:50 ET by well99I was surprise that Chris let Axelrod get away with all that spinning.Yet he was tough on Davis.
Kondracke and Wallace have lost it...
September 7, 2008 - 20:04 ET by wnaegeleKondracke went ballistic almost from the moment the Palin pick was announced. Wallace performance today was worthy of MSNBC...
Kondracke's ass is chapped...

I saw this interview. I
September 7, 2008 - 20:20 ET by lehmanI saw this interview. I don't think Axelrod answered one question. Imagine that, Chris Wallace is afraid of a powerful and brilliant woman. He is shaking in his boots because his party to going to lose.
Slap shot Sarah

I agree that Wallace is a liberal but
September 7, 2008 - 20:59 ET by Dee Bunkhe did try to interrupt him quite a few times. I think it was harder because Axelrod was on satellite. I thought Axelrod came off bad.
"Allowing" Sarah Palin to be "interviewed"
September 7, 2008 - 22:23 ET by HappyConservative"...he (Wallace) continually interrupted to challenge, sometimes even argued with, such as regarding when the McCain campaign was going to 'allow' Sarah Palin to be interviewed by the media."
Along the same line - saw a post at Democratic Underground where they are pushing an online petition to send the McCain campaign to pressure them to let the news media interview Sarah.
Heard Biden telling Brokaw on MTP that he had no problem debating strong women - that he's surrounded by strong women at home and in the Senate...said his problem was not knowing where Sarah stood on the issues. This after Tom spent loads of time talking about Sarah Palin with Biden instead of interviewing him about said issues.
Mike Barnicle said recently on Morning Joe that Obama and Biden wouldn't have to damage themselves attacking Sarah, because the media would do it for them.
I think that is the main reason why the Drive-by gang is chomping at the bit to "interview" Sarah. They want to get her on record as saying anything at all in answer to their "questions", so they can use it for their spin to begin a shift in public perceptions of her, and to lay the groundwork for Biden's debate preparation.
FNC can't wait either.
September 8, 2008 - 00:38 ET by nofateI saw the tail end of Fox News Sunday (I think) with Britt Hume, Laura Liason, Juan Williams, and Chris Wallace and they were chiding Palin to come "out of hiding" and let the media savage- oops! scratch that- question her. I love it. Poor babies.

I've always suspected
September 7, 2008 - 23:05 ET by afuelthat Chris Wallace wanted to be loved by his leftist buddies.
He bent over backwards to let Axelrod spew..
Maybe this is part of the O'Reilly interview Obama payoff ?
Watch again tomorrow.....

September 8, 2008 - 07:53 ET by LilyPearlYes, we are about to find out who is who at Fox News. I was very disappointed in the interviews as well. I have always respected Wallace and thought he was the most fair and balanced. However, isn't it nice to see the liberals knocked off balance?
