| Identical Twin Statements |
Also today, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tim Kaine issued a statement on last night's election results.
The similarities between the DNC Chair's words and CBS's Katie Couric's October 27 Award winning comments are striking.
In fact, I will provide you with each of their assertions, and reveal who said which only after the jump. Good luck guessing.
-
"...(T)he Republican candidate (for NY-23), a moderate, was purged from the Republican Party by the most extreme elements of the conservative right wing including Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.... (W)hat occurred in New York has exposed a war within the Republican Party that will not soon end.... The all out war between Republicans and the far right wing is a disaster for the Republican Party and will dog it well after today."
-
"There's growing concern among some GOP leaders that controversial commentators and far-right conservatives have hijacked the message. People like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin appeal to the base... (but) you can't win with just the base.... Before the 2010 midterm elections roll around, Republicans need to get the focus back onto the Big Tent where all are welcome - and off the sideshows that are popping up along the party's fringe."
Eerie, isn't it. Give up?
The first statement is Kaine, the second Katie.

November 4, 2009 - 15:52 ET by Six String SpiffIt's really amazing how these crybaby dems can NEVER admit to themselves that maybe, just MAYBE America DOESN'T want Communism.
Their arrogance is stunning. The monolithic daily whining is SO pathetic.
By their logic, FOX news, Rush, and Beck rule the country.

November 4, 2009 - 16:41 ET by doug1950was a horrible candidate. Why they picked her only they can say. It is like they deliberately looked around for the most unattractive candidate they could muster up to run in this event. She lost before she even got started. She is more liberal than the Democrat who won! The media and the DNC are trying to have it both ways once again. In one sound bite, last nights votes didn't mean anything, no big deal, whatever. etc. In the very next they are all sucking air through their teeth and hyperventilating about the poor "moderate" Republican who was thrown overboard by the vast right wing fringe wackos from the GOP and how the Republican Party is in a civil war, spiraling down.
SHE dropped out because she knew she could not win and it was prudent for her to do this at that time so she could throw her support behind the opposition party. It is incredible to watch the media. It is like they are standing there buck naked and repeating over and over, "I'm not naked, I'm not naked, I'm not naked.................." Like we can't see they are naked! and stupid.

November 4, 2009 - 16:04 ET by rollinghillsIt's very telling how the "MSM" is spinning this. Yep, it's those nasty, far right wing thugs that went up to NY and yanked her out of the race. When in reality, once she realized that the voters had found out her true beliefs and were going to run....far away, she decided to exit the race before being humiliated.
Imagine what would have happened had this true Conservative received the backing of the GOP machine.

November 4, 2009 - 16:49 ET by Jerry MackIf Nancy Pelosi switched parties tomorrow Katie would refer to her as a moderate Republican. They are terrified of the word Liberal.

November 4, 2009 - 21:13 ET by Sergeant ROCKlol.. no kidding. Every newscast I heard on the radio called her a 'moderate'. This is just laziness on the reporter's part. They are just reading a script from the AP wire, or whatever, and don't question it.

November 4, 2009 - 18:15 ET by Radical1979The problem is that the "bigwigs" in the republican party are more concerned with having someone with an R next to their name winning, than someone who embraces the principles of conservatism. Voters don't care. We just want someone in office who isn't going to spend our money and promote b.s. The GOP needs to get that message.

November 4, 2009 - 19:43 ET by needleThe GOP spent $1 Million on a RINO Democrat to defeat the candidate who should have been on the Republican ticket. That $1 Million plus a corresponding amount spent by the actual Democrat candidate just barely paid off in defeating Doug Hoffman who had much less money and precious little professional support. This was a good job for RINOs who are not only pro-abortion but also apparently into assisted suicide.

I hope Hoffman runs in the next election as a REPUBLICAN!
November 4, 2009 - 23:01 ET by Cape ConservativeI was impressed with a citizen stepping up to the plate and offering to take the c*r*a*p he knew would be coming from the msm and the media...don't give up, Doug, please! You and MANY MORE just like you should continue to give the citizens of our great country a reason to be hopeful and an opportunity to vote for someone with CONSERVATIVE VALUES! A hearty thank you, Mr. Hoffman. Hope to hear more about you in the future! (and it probably wouldn't hurt to check on some of the voters...with ACORN in the picture, they could be dead, or members of a professional football team, or a Disney movie star!)
I am looking forward to the return of our military men and women from the middle east. I hope they realize what a treasure they are and what an asset they would be to Congress! Let's all be on the lookout for candidates to challenge these lifers who couldn't care less about America or its citizens. All we have to do is look at how most of them arrive with not much in the bank and soon are rolling in the dough. Our system is so corrupt it needs a good thorough cleaning! Mr. Hoffman was a good broom - he at least removed one RINO from the race. At this point, I consider a RINO low man/woman on the totum pole...McCain, Graham come to mind immediately. Their 'getting along with the other side' is wearing thin. The 'other side' never seems to want to 'get along' with them unless they are totally caving in to their demands! We can do without that sort of representation!
This comment comes from a proud Tea Party attendee, otherwise designated by Homeland Security as a Domestic Right Wing Terrorist! And now by our president as a 'swiftboater' - both titles I'll wear proudly! It is no dishonor to be in a minority in the cause of liberty and virtue ~ Sam Adams
