Matt Cover at the Media Research Center's News Division, CNSNews.com, has a piece out today entitled "FCC’s Chief Diversity Officer Wants Private Broadcasters to Pay a Sum Equal to Their Total Operating Costs to Fund Public Broadcasting."

This is insane.  The "Chief Diversity Officer" in question, Mark Lloyd, is calling for the gross operating budget for every private radio station each year to be the fee (tax) they pay for their broadcast license for the year, with the monies going to the always liberal public stations.  With whom they then must compete for listeners.

Chief Diversity Officer Lloyd is - from all we have read and are reading - virulently anti-capitalist, almost myopically racially fixated and exuberantly pro-regulation.  He is a frightening guy to have having any power at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  And yet that is exactly where he currently stands, astride the private radio industry he loathes like a Socialist Colossus.

This excellent article by Cover is but the tip of the iceberg on this guy; there will be much more to follow as we continue to wade through his deeply disturbing writings. For instance, we have his farcical book on order.

When Vice President Joe Biden warned us to gird our loins, he apparently meant for us to do so in preparation for his Administration.

Xerxes wants control of ALL. He is a god.

FCC willing to bow and do his will.  This is the starting point.  They will seek out and close the conservative stations once they find an excuse.

This was an interesting comparison of Obama to Xerxes in the movie 300.  Excellent:  http://jimblazsik.com/2009/06/01/is-obama-%E2%80%98god-king%E2%80%99-xerxes-from-%E2%80%98300%E2%80%99/   ***must see defense of conservative motives!***

Of course, the waiting might be a bit painful...

Outrageous...infuriating,

Outrageous...infuriating, please keep us up to date like this, these enemies will do everything they can to destroy what the right has left of free speech...

These leftists on the radio can't make it on their own...so be it.

Let the market work.

Fairness Doctrine anyway they can get it...by a thousand cuts...and boy oh boy they have been throwing anything and everything they can come up with on the wall to see what will stick, and what nobody will pay much attention too if they can implement anything on the sly.

Well, why not?  They

Well, why not?  They forced tobacco companies to pay for smoking cessation programs and discourage people from buying their product!

Why would they think twice about forcing profitable entities to fund their unprofitable rivals?

Bt, the line must be drawn here; they know it, we know it. The Federal Government is limited by our Constitution. We must see to it that free speech in all of its forms is not abridged by our government, its members, and our representatives.

The FCC's policies limiting freedom of speech by any regulation are clearly unconstitutional.

Legislation vs Negative Rights

I believe a lot of the discussion going on right now has to do with how Bill’s are being written and as you have stated the powers of our Government is limited by the Constitution. Law and Bills are being written expanding government power and doing so with an ‘open ended’ type framework that will allow further expansion of government power. Americans are still predominately more comfortable with the Constitutional style of government that states the limitations of government and their obligations to the American People.
President Obama has openly opposed this form of law in stating that he against what is referred to as ‘Negative Rights’ in the Bill of Rights. In his way of thinking negative rights limit what the government can do for the people. What we see now at the Townhall meetings is the realization that the people don’t trust government and want limitations on their power not possibilities for magnanimous gifts of legislature.
Those who trust Obama and the current Legislature should stop and think that these people will not always be in power and these bills expanding government power will be in the hands of people they may not agree with politically.
Limiting the central powers of a nation increases the local powers: limiting local powers, with a limited national power, increases the power of the individual.

Isn't this basically a 100%

Isn't this basically a 100% tax on private broadcasters?

Indeed, the "Fairness Doctrine" by any means necessary.  Why?  Because there wouldn't be half the public outcry or knowledge of the workings of the Obama administration if it weren't for talk radio and/or conservative television personalities and/or conservative blogs.

My money says the next target will be blog hosting sites, a tax requiring them to fund some other liberal wet dream.

this whole scheme sounds really familiar...

The only difference is that at least in "Atlas Shrugged"...

...the looters tried to convince the lootees that they too would benefit by being fleeced.

This this case, they're simply telling the legitimate broadcasters to bend over and take it.

This Chief Diversity Officer Lloyd person

This Chief Diversity Officer Lloyd person is in the wrong country at the wrong time.  Lederhosen mean anything to you, Mark? Yours are way too tight.

Fortunately, they won't

Fortunately, they won't mess with books in libraries and book stores because they are so arrogant they think that Conservatives don't read.

The FCC is another waste of taxpayer money.

I don't know if the FCC

I don't know if the FCC is a waste of taxpayer money, but the Corperation for Public Broasting is. PBS & NPR should be axed.

Now the Dept. of Education & the Dept. of Energy are a waste of taxpayers dollars, but we can hash that out later.
