The Media Research Center's Director of Communications and NewsBusters.org Contributing Editor Seton Motley appeared on the Fox News Channel's America's Election HQ with Megyn Kelley to discuss the Los Angeles Times refusing to release a video of Illinois Democratic Senator and Presidential nominee Barack Obama attending the apparently anti-Israel going-away party for anti-Israel professor Rashid Khalidi in April 2003.
The Times did write a story about it at the time, but recently knowledge of the tape's existence came to light and they have steadfastly refused to release it.
Motley pointed out that this is but the latest in a long list of things potentially damaging to Sen. Obama that the media has obfuscated or outright ignored in their coverage of the Presidential race, including his relationships with Khalidi, remorseless domestic terrorist William Ayers, his anti-American pastor and self-described "mentor" and "spiritual advisor" of two decades Jeremiah Wright and convicted felon Tony Rezko.

what could the tape possibly
October 29, 2008 - 13:38 ET by dark_dswhat could the tape possibly have on it that the Times doesnt want revealed? I suspect if this was tape of american soldiers abusing someone in Gitmo they would have released it and it would be everywhere ... they are being very selective in their journalistic integrity and duty
I think the point is that
October 29, 2008 - 13:41 ET by motherbeltI think the point is that the story was published last April!!! April and now are two entirely different things!
They just want it gone down the memory hole. If this were McCain, it would be out there at the top of every half-hour headline break!
Somehow I think it doesn't really matter anyhow. The ones who are going to vote for Obama would not be swayed if they came up with video of him saying God...d....America!
yes in april the times was
October 29, 2008 - 13:50 ET by dark_dsyes in april the times was possibly trying to push Hillary ( i dont know that) then it was acceptable to publish information detrimental to Oman ... now it is not ... especially if not everything that happened at the farewell dinner was exposed by the Times perhaps they editorialized and cleaned up the really bad stuff .. none of us except the folks in that room and the Times themselves know ... and why shouldnt we know .... perhaps there is nothing .. maybe the tape even makes Obama look presidential and look like a genius .. I just think the American people should give it a look and decide ... perhaps the Times has been told that if they release that tape that all access to an Obama presidency will be cut off
Maybe and maybe not
October 29, 2008 - 14:07 ET by SentryDanMaybe and maybe not, MB. There could be some damaging information on that video that would cause undecided voters not to vote for Obama.
Another thing that McCain need to hammer home is that Obama won't be able to give a tax break or welfare check to 95% of Americans if he plans an additional 1 Trillion plus dollars in spending programs. There is no way he will get enough money in taxes from the top 5% of Americans. We the People are going to take a big hit.
And lastly, the McCain campaign needs to hammer how Obama looks down of the common man. A con man is still a con man no matter what costume (his blue jeans and windbreaker) he wears. Remember his quote, "Put lipstick on a pig and it is still a pig."
Remember folks, it's hard to soar with eagles when you are surrounded by a flock of turkeys.
LA tape
October 29, 2008 - 14:01 ET by billbThe RNC needs to take a page from the DNC playbook and exaggerate the contents of the tape in an RNC ad and force the LA Times to prove them wrong!
WE NEED DIVIDED GOVERNMENT....NOW!
Who is this Rashid Khalidi guy?
October 29, 2008 - 14:18 ET by Smoking HotI'm anti-Israeli on a few issues myself. Being anti-Israeli does not equate with being anti-American. Surely the Rev. Wright association is more problematic.
dont worry Khalidi is just
October 29, 2008 - 14:22 ET by dark_dsdont worry Khalidi is just another guy from the neighborhood
