'The View' Crazy Conspiracy Theory: SF Killing Timed to Help Trump?

July 9th, 2015 3:51 PM

Another wild conspiracy surfaced on The View, Thursday. New co-host Raven-Symone hinted that there was something suspicious about how the San Francisco shooting happening just as Donald Trump's presidential campaign began talking about illegal immigration. She alternatively described Trump as a "mole" who's goal is to simply "stir stuff up."

Offering up the incoherent theory, she suggested, "Doesn't anyone find it interesting that this happened as soon as Trump started to talk about this? He [killer Juan Lopez-Sanchez] randomly found a gun from a federal agent?" An incredulous Nicolle Wallace mocked, "I'm pretty sure the criminal wasn't watching CNN."

Digging deeper, Raven-Symone explained, "No, but look at the news. They reported it. They should have been showing more of these beforehand, for instance. I just feel it's very interesting."

After Whoopi Goldberg wondered how the illegal immigrant kept getting back in the United States, Raven-Symone mysteriously declared, "That is a conspiracy theorist's dream!"

Earlier, she offered this possibility:

RAVEN-SYMONE: He [Trump] is sucking up the air for everyone. He knows how to manipulate the industry and I'm that person who thinks that he was put there by, maybe Republicans or Democrats, as a mole to just get people's opinions and stir stuff up so we don't talk about the issue.

The View has been home to a host of conspiracy theorists. Rosie O'Donnell famously embraced 9/11 trutherism and the idea that George W. Bush and Rudy Giuliani could have been involved in the 2001 terror attack.

Co-host Jenny McCarthy aggressively embraced anti-vaccine conspiracy theories.

NICOLLE WALLACE: Let me explain why Trump is number two in the Republican field. The crime in San Francisco has given everyone a heart-breaking example of the lives, the innocent lives at stake with our failed immigration policy. So, there's actually parent of another kid who was killed by an illegal immigrant who was deported five times who wasn't prosecuted or sent back because they were in what's called a sanctuary city. And Trump did succeed in putting the White House on its heels. So, it's not just the media industry that he's manipulating, as you suggest. But the White House was on its heels yesterday. Josh Earnest, White House press secretary, was on his heels trying to defend a system that allows a 30-year-old woman to be shot in the back by a man who was a criminal who was deported five times because San Francisco is a sanctuary city.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: How did he [ the killer, Juan Lopez-Sanchez] get back in? How did he get back in?

RAVEN-SYMONE: That is a conspiracy theorist's dream!

RAVEN-SYMONE: Doesn't anyone find it interesting that this happened as soon as Trump started to talk about this? He randomly found a gun from a federal agent?

WALLACE: [Sarcastic voice]: I'm pretty sure the criminal wasn't watching CNN.

RAVEN-SYMONE: No, but look at the news. They reported it. They should have been showing more of these beforehand, for instance. I just feel it's very interesting. And how do you feel about Trump talking about Hillary, about how  if she's president, there's going to be just flood of murders and things going on. I think he's very wrong in saying that.
