Chris Matthews Smears: Immigration Enforcement Supporters Are Like Back to Africa Types
Chris Matthews on Monday smeared supporters of enforcing America's immigration laws, linking them to the post-Civil War "back to Africa" movement for African Americans. After liberal columnist David Corn insisted that Mitt Romney had boxed himself in, politically, on the issue, Matthews snarled, "How is this any different than the big boat argument of people when it comes to African Americans after the Civil War?"
Matthews continued, "This idea of 'put them on a boat and send them back where they came from.'" Finding the worst motives in his political opponents, Matthews insisted, "You know, he says that in polite language, but that's what Romney's been saying. 'Get home where you came from.'" [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Later, Politico journalist John Heilemann pointed out that some older Latinos don't support illegal immigration.
This, apparently deviated too much from Matthews' talking points. He pounced, "What is the reaction to people that don't like them though? It's one thing to have a conservative view on the law. What do you do when you hear there's people in politics who just don't like you because you're Mexican American?"
The Hardball anchor didn't explain just which GOP politicians are saying, "I don't like Mexicans."
A partial transcript of the June 18 segment can be found below:
DAVID CORN: What Romney has done is put himself into a pair of cement shoes. He has taken the most extreme position you have. I'm not saying it's not an unprincipled position. It's a logical, coherent very, very severely conservative position, which is we're not going to do anything about the 12 million people here who are undocumented or their kids or anything like that. Everyone has to go home and that's it, end of story. He's, you know- It's a consistent position. It just doesn't match reality. It doesn't match policy reality because it can't work as a policy and really doesn't match political reality, which is why he's been so tongue tied ever since the President took offensive on this on Friday.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: How is this any different than the big boat argument of people when it comes to African Americans after the Civil War? This idea of 'put them on a boat and send them back where they came from.' You know, he says that in polite language, but that's what Romney's been saying. 'Get home where you came from.' Start all over again.
...
JOHN HEILEMANN: As for Latinos, look, there is, if you go around focus groups in the southwest, there are older Hispanics who resent illegal immigrants as much some, as some white Americans do. So, it's not-
MATTHEWS: What is the reaction to people that don't like them though? It's one thing to have a conservative view on the law. What do you do when you hear there's people in politics who just don't like you because you're Mexican American?
HEILEMANN: Well, look, I think those people, it's very hard to get someone to vote for you if they think- if you think-
MATTHEWS: If you hate them.
HEILEMANN: If you believe, as a voter, think that the politician hates you as an ethnic group.

I highly doubt he can produce a clip of Romney saying "'Get home where you came from.' Start all over again." but that didn't stop him from pretending Romney had said that then arguing against it.
He just makes it up.
What a joke.
Let me clue you in, Chrissy.

Let me clue you in, Chrissy. Most of the slaves, most of the Black people here in America, at the end of the civil war, were born here. They were "given" their freedom, their citizenship, BECAUSE they were born here, not in spite of it.
Most of the citizens, especially those of the north, considered them as natural born citizens. Very few people actually wanted to "ship them back." But, guess who was one of them who felt that way? Woodrow Wilson! You know, that Famous Liberal President. So, stick that in your collective pipe and smoke it, you liberal hack.

Illegal immigrants from Mexico and countries to their south are different from most other immigrants in the world. If they've had enough or get into trouble, it's a short trip to get "home." Immigrants from Europe, Africa & Asia have to sever ties with their home country and place a large body of water between their new and old homes.
That was what motivated all those people yearning for natural freedom. They might not have understood how rough it might be in the beginning, but they all knew that this place above all others, gave them the opportunity to make it big.
Despite Baraka's words to the contrary, I don't see patriotism to America as being one of the main traits that illegals in my own area display.

If I'm not mistaken most American "Back to Africa" movements were headed by Black Americans. Not that facts should get in the way of a smear from Chrissy Commie Matthews. I hope he goes to Africa and takes all the other Neo-Lib Commies with him. This country would be way better off without closet Communists trying to destroy the Constitution. In the meantime, Chrissy should put up at least two families of Illegal Mexicans in that large mansion of his. Come on, you commie punk, put up or shut up. How is this assclown still on TV????? Oh that's right, we works for Obamavision(MSNBC).....

This dinosaur needs to either quit MSNBC and go to work for Obama's reelection campaign or retire, his rhetoric is tiresome and the hypocrisy is so far out, I think he has reached the edge of sanity. He is close to joining Dan Rather as a complete idiot. Not far behind him is David Gregory who is another one so far in the tank for Obama that objective reporting means he watched 5 minutes of FoxNews before he ranted his liberal far left baloney.
If you want Obama commercials, keep watching Mathews and Gregory.

A long time ago, when CTWMF was at the Sacramento Bee, I'd read a column of his every now and then and I'd think he made his Carter-O'Neill-liberal policy points pretty well. At least they were cogent enough to read and mull over.
Now, he just sounds dotty. But also mean and peddling the crypto-racism of Obama opponents and the even more dangerous ideas of imaging an Obama assassination. He, along with all the other stars in the liberal excrement, continue to keep the idea of racial unrest, conflict, and even killings alive—and it seems that his principal motives are juicing up his show's ratings and gettin' the luv from the likes of Randi Rhodes, Jeananne Garofalo, Mike Malloy, and others on the lunatic left.
This is wantonly irresponsible. It's way way beyond good, tough policy arguments, beyond elbow-throwing punditry. It's reckless.

So, Chris Matthews - just who are those Immigration Enforcement Supporters?
Polls have always shown how the American people felt on both illegal immigration and legal immigration, and those views have been disregarded long enough.
In the heat of the Arizona Immigration law and the hate mongering by the Obama White House, city councils across the country, and the national MSM, the very liberal - progressive Pew Center conducted a national poll. It was a good straight poll. The results, not surprisingly went like this:
just 25% support President Obama's immigration policy, which includes legalizing millions of unauthorized migrants
And what else did that poll find? Well, the Pew folks went right out and literally summarized those supposedly two most contentious measures in the bill (the ones Holder blocked - the ones that the boycotts were over) and found that nationally:
73% said they backed a measure requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status if police ask for them,
while 67% approve of allowing police to detain anyone who cannot verify that they are in the country legally.
That super majority of Americans - that 70%+ broad swath of Americans - they're the ones you folks in the MSM, and at the White House, keep referring to as racist, intolerant, a danger to civil liberties, etc.
Republicans hold the populist view on immigration. The people are going to find their voice, Chris Matthews - all 70+ % of em.
Start looking for your boat, Chris.

When you utter such idiocy as this, "What do you do when you hear there's people in politics who just don't like you because you're Mexican American?", we're forced to point out to you, they are NOT Mexican-Americans. They(illegals) are Mexicans, Salvadorans, Costa Ricans or whatever. They. Aren't. Americans.

PMSLSD management is actually of the opinion that Chris Mattresspad is rational. Since his behavior and sometimes-outrageous (okay, MOSTLY outrageous) cerebral flatulence are accepted by them, the general consensus must be that his point is valid. I suggest that his point is covered by his haircut.

Once again a 'liberal progressive' is out front supporting the law breakers.
It's always the 'police acted stupidly' attitude we have seen from their side.
When some creep kills a cop, out come the 'liberal progressives' looking to run the cop's family out of town on a rail while elevating the cop-killer to God-like status.
