MSNBC's Chris Matthews Outrageously Compares Alleged Child Rapist's Wife to Pat Nixon

MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Wednesday outrageously compared Dorothy Sandusky standing by her alleged child rapist husband, Jerry, to Pat Nixon supporting Richard Nixon. The liberal cable anchor was discussing the molestation case and shockingly inserted a political comparison.

After legal guest Kendall Coffey tried to explain how Mrs. Sandusky could be a helpful witness to her disgraced husband, Matthews linked the 52 counts of sexual abuse to America's 37th president: "This is the new story of our life: The wife who stands by their man, as if they were Pat Nixon standing up there putting up with the ignominy that their husband's 100 percent responsible for and yet being loyal." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Matthews also brought in other politicians who faced scandal: "I'm in the business of watching wife after wife come on television, whether it's Vitter down in Louisiana or it's Ensign out in California [sic] or it's the governor of New Jersey, McGreevey, or it's the governor of New York's wife, coming on and standing next to their man."

To compare President Nixon's life and example to that of a man charged with some of the most abhorrent crimes possible is reprehensible.

Matthews should apologize for his disgusting remarks.

A transcript of Matthews June 13 comment can be found below:

[Discussing Dorothy Sandusky supporting her husband,Jerry Sandusky]

KENDALL COFFEY: And maybe there's a mistrial, which is the best I think Jerry Sandusky's lawyers can hope for.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: You know, the thing is, Buzz and Kendall, I'm in the business of watching wife after wife come on television, whether it's Vitter down in Louisiana or it's Ensign out in California [sic] or it's the governor of New Jersey, McGreevey or it's the governor of New York's wife, coming on and standing next to their man, Buzz. This is the new story of our life: The wife who stands by their man, as if they were Pat Nixon standing up there putting up with the ignominy that their husband's 100 percent responsible for and yet being loyal.

He can remember Pat Nixon but not Hillary standing by her unfaithful lying husband? Chris Matthews, another reason why Obama will lose in November.

Chris, If Richard Nixon had facilitated the deaths of 150 Mexicans and a Border Agent, and then stonewalled on the investigation, I'd have a problem with that too.

Ignominy? I'll admit breaking into a shrink's office is illegal, but how do you place that act as somehow lower than what has happened under Obama/Holder?

You really are a lube job, Chris.

Tingles should be cornholed by a rhino in a pit full of well-aged squid.

To compare a Presidential wife to anyone associated with crimes like these is beyond the pale. How this cretin's alleged mind works is a mystery.

I hope the rhino leaves a quarter on the dresser and stinks up the bathroom, too.

These two stood by their men when their pants were down around the ankles. These comments by Matthews are what we've come to expect from a morally vacant mind. Please, Chris, start saying you were born in New Jersey. You shame us real Pennsylvanians..

The worst kind of hypocrisy

Submitted by menemshaman on Wed, 06/13/2012 - 8:16pm.

Chris Mathews is a total putz. He disregards JFK's womanizing and sexual escapades with young women. It is ok for his hero to behave in such a manner, but not for any conservative politician. To compare Pat Nixon to Mrs. Sandusky is so overboard it boarders on the insane. But...... this is what we have come to
expect from this buffoon.

How about Mrs. Edwards?

I seem to remember Mrs. Edwards standing right next to her husband while he categorically denied having an affair, that the "love child" didn't exist, that it was all untrue. Funny how Chrissy never managed to include that in his comparisons.

Does it get any lower than Chris Matthews? Is there anyone else as scummy and vacuous as this turd? The obvious desperation, the panic, the tingling up his leg, the sheer idiocy is breathtaking. And yet, there are thousands of Americans who watch this moron, listen to him, even agree with him. He is the worst our country has to offer and his followers are the scum of the earth.
