Rachel Maddow Huffs: GOPers Skip My Show Because It's 'Unimpeachable in the Facts'

By Scott Whitlock | March 04, 2012 | 17:38

Scott Whitlock's picture

According to Rachel Maddow, Republicans skip her MSNBC show because she is so insistent on being "unimpeachable in the facts." In a brief interview for the March 2 Entertainment Weekly, the liberal anchor huffed about her personal integrity.

Maddow insisted she'd "love" to host a Republican presidential debate, but cautioned, "[On my show] our responsibility is to be unimpeachable in the facts, and then to be honest about when we are giving our opinion."

She piously added, "We don't fake objectivity on cable. We tell you where we're coming from, but that doesn't mean we lie or twist the facts."

Of course, Maddow has repeatedly been caught "twisting the facts." In February of 2011, she proclaimed that, contrary to what Republicans are saying, Wisconsin actually had a budget surplus. Politifact found this to be "false."

On August 4, 2011, Maddow misleadingly played a joking clip of Rush Limbaugh, attacking the conservative for something he said "yesterday." Turns out, it was a year old.

In the March 2 issue, Maddow knocked the Republicans for trying to fool Americans into thinking they disagree with each other:

It has been hard to judge whether or not Republican primary voters have been politically driven or style-driven. I think there are not very many policy distinctions between these candidates. But when they go after each other with negative campaigns, they are trying to make it seem there are differences.

What serious political differences did Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have with each other in 2008?

Please, Rachel, could we have a list of the Republicans you've invited, who have refused to come on your show? How about you just name two?

I find that really hard to believe, seeing as how Republicans are always willing to subject themselves to liberal interrogations, in an attempt to show how "agreeable" and "non-partisan" they are!

Funny, Republicans all skipped Olbermann's show too.  Probably for the same reason.

Another major error of factual evidence from The Madcow

Submitted by djwolf12 on Sun, 03/04/2012 - 10:55pm.

She told the nation that republicans in Oklahoma City were told in advance about Timothy McVeigh and they failed to act in stopping it.

"We are on the precipice of elevating the federal office the most extreme—and in some cases strange—set of conservative candidates in a lifetime. Yes, this has happened to a smaller degree before. In 1994, in the first mid-term election after the last Democratic president was elected, we got a slate of candidates that included Helen Chenoweth of Idaho and Steve Stockman of Texas. These two were so close to the militia movement in this country that Mr. Stockman actually received advance notice that the Oklahoma City bombing was going to happen... We're just about to elect a bunch of extremists."

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jack-coleman/2010/10/19/rachel-maddow-most-...

http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2010/10/rachel-maddow-ties-gop-r...

Stunning. Just stunning. Notice in her correction that she says "Mr. Stockman was a VERY CONSERVATIVE Republican Politician elected in 1994. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME WE HAD OUR FIRST MIDTERM ELECTIONS AFTER A NEW DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT WAS INAUGURATED." A correction was made yet NO APOLOGY was issued to Mr. Stockman OR the family of Helen Chenoweth on behalf of The Madcow in front of a national television audience (very small audience, but still). She still trashes Mr. Stockman and Deceased Helen Chenelweth as extremists. She is lower than pond scum and needs to resign.

If she doesn't resign immediately, then Boycott ALL of her sponsors.

Really Rachel? I'm pretty sure I tried to watch your show and got tired of yelling "BS - tell the WHOLE story" at the tv!!!

This was when I got the DVR, and I taped a bunch of shows from CNBC , MSNBC, CNN, and FOX.

I kept Kudlow from CNBC for a long time, but it conflicted {couldn't watch TV because I was taping 2 shows} but I like him.

Morning Joe was the ONLY MSNBC I could even stomach, but most of the time I tape and end up deleting without watching. Rachel intrigued me at 1st, but her hateful snark turned me off quick.

CNN? Candy Crowley on Sunday. That's it. Lame channel.

Fox has the most rounded out people. Cavuto, Baier, & Megyn Kelly are the most interesting to watch - probably because they don't cleave to an ideology.

Greta just lost me as a viewer because of her senseless attack on Andrew Breitbart re; Sherrod. I'd fast forward when she did the tabloid junk, but she'd get into the weeds with some guests that I found very interesting.

Shemp {Shepard Smith} is revolting - I even have the DVR set 1 minute late for Your World with Neil Cavuto so I don't have to hear that fool!!!

BOR {Bill O'Reilly} reminds me of the worst of the worst - the blowhard in the bar who knows it all, but he sometimes has good guests, so I sorta watch it.

Hannity - gets on my nerves a lot, but also has good guests.

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

How ironic is it that Maddow

How ironic is it that Maddow of all people brags that her facts are indisputable. This web site points out more errant reporting than any other program. Yes, Matthews, Shultz, O'Donnel and the others are biased...mean....the whole deal. But as far as "this show reported this, and it's simply not true" scenario, Maddow's show leads the bunch. Hence the irony of her statement.

Just the facts, the unimpeachable facts, Mam.

Submitted by CobraMan on Mon, 03/05/2012 - 11:57am.

Here's the facts, Rachel: you're never going to become a well-known philosopher, someone whose ideas and visions changed the world, no matter how badly you want it. Do you know what history will say about you after your death? It'll say three things: Your name, the date of your birth, and the date of your death. Everything else will be forgotten, as you're just not that important.

Your gravestone will be the only monument you'll ever receive. No roads will bear your name, or schools, or stadiums, or any other structure who's titles we use as a means of remembrance. There will be no awards named for you, no medals, no prizes, nor postulates, or theorems, or laws.

Other than on a rarely viewed piece of carved granite marking the last known location of your dead, decaying body, granite that is slowly being erased by nature itself, your name will never be known by our decedents. Not even your genes will survive your death, for you are childless and there is no one left to continue your lineage.

As your body dies, so will your legacy, for even your "fans" will soon forget you, will quickly replace you with yet another oh-so-important nobody. And THAT is the truly unimpeachable truth.

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States. The US Constitution

Unless you're a fetus. The US Supreme Court

Or Anwar al-Awlaki.
