Unhinged Chris Matthews Shrieks: 'Deadly,' Satanic Newt Gingrich Is a 'Political Killer'

Hardball's Chris Matthews on Monday spewed hatred for Newt Gingrich, excoriating him as voicing "deadly" contempt for Barack Obama. Matthews trashed, "He's a political killer, a gun for hire."

The unhinged Matthews compared Republicans who support the former Speaker to those who would make a deal with the devil. Using violent rhetoric, the MSNBC anchor constructed reasons why conservatives embrace Gingrich: "Because he voices in cold, nasty, deadly tones the words of their contempt, because he's an opportunist ready to seek any route to his opponent's heart and thereby kill it." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Using demonic references, Matthews bombarded, "[Republicans are] about to begin the nomination for President of a figure who represents the Mephistopheles of what they preach.  He is nasty, brutal, ready to fight and kill politically."

Oddly, the host summed up the GOP's reasons as nothing more than wanting to take back the White House:

MATTHEWS: This is the Faustian deal at hand: Newt Gingrich's promise of a vision of which they on the right have set their hearts, the few minutes of national television in which the President and his wife stand before them in defeat. That's why they're offering up their partisan souls, why they're ready to bow down before this false god of hatred

Does trying to win a presidential election really equal supporting the "false god of hatred"?

A transcript of the December 12 segment can be found below:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

5:58

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let me finish tonight with this. The Republican Party is about to seal a Faustian deal with the devil. Every observer from left to farthest right knows what's going on here. The Republicans, led by the angriest among them, are about to give away their partisan souls for one all-consuming political purpose, the destruction of Barack Obama. They're about to begin the nomination for President of a figure who represents the Mephistopheles of what they preach.  He is nasty, brutal, ready to fight and kill politically, a man of no discernible commitments or values, who has nothing to offer but a sharp-as-hell intellect and a wicked rapier of words. For the right price and a presidential nomination is his [sic], Newt is ready to jump on a dime and hit any opponent where he shows weakness. Why are they on the verge of enlisting in the army of Newt? Because he voices in cold, nasty, deadly tones the words of their contempt, because he's an opportunist ready to seek any route to his opponent's heart and thereby kill it. He's a political killer, a gun for hire. But he offers a prize so precious, he cannot be resisted.

This. This is the Faustian deal at hand: Newt Gingrich's promise of a vision of which they on the right have set their hearts, the few minutes of national television in which the President and his wife stand before them in defeat. That's why they're offering up their partisan souls, why they're ready to bow down before this false god of hatred. They will give their souls to Newt, their compact with the devil to get what they most want: Pain on their enemy. They want it more than yet another tax cut, more than another wild, unwarranted war, more than love or freedom or joy. They want the President's head. And they've cut a deal with Mephistopheles to get it. What they're doing isn't good. They know it as well as we know it. Deep down, it is wrong to run someone who is so different from what you value. They know it's wrong and they're doing it still. They're willing to give up all the values and hopes and claims to goodness they've ever professed. They're willing to strike this deal with the devil because they want to hurt Obama, because the most enticing prospect of this entire campaign is the chance to bring down this President. And in the prospect and act of doing so, they imagine how damn good it will feel.

Who writes this crap for him?  It's like the C- paper in an 8th Grade creative writing test.

Yet, no doubt that some time later this week, he'll have guests on to discuss just how ugly and nasty the political dialogue has gotten thanks to conservatives and talk radio, and wouldn't it be great if, over the Christmas season, the conservatives would stop throwing flames.

It occurred to me Chris has left the Racial defense and now is channeling the French Revolution.  But you know, the idea of an out of touch King with a luxury loving wife isn't  too far off the mark.  Now the angry Republican mob is getting ready to storm the Whitehouse and depose the King and send him and his wife into exile.  We'll skip the use of the guillotine.

Good 'Ole Pap Matthews (full of smear) at it again

This (Matthews) is the same guy that said that Mark Levin's show is nothing but "Ugly Talk"? This is the same guy (Matthews) that said Republicans operate and use violent rhetoric so full of vitriol that it is tearing the country apart? THIS IS THE SAME GUY?

Wow. M.S.S.R. is ALL IN to destroy any opposition to Chairman Obama. I still think that when Obama gets his ass handed to him on a bent dinner tray on 11/6/2012, Good 'Ole Pap Matthews (full of smear) will beg Chairman Obama to sign an executive order to reverse the election returns on 11/7/2012.

Deadly? Satanic? like killing

Submitted by rbosque on Mon, 12/12/2011 - 9:25pm.

Deadly? Satanic? like killing children Matthews? Isn't that what your party stands for and doesn't your party profit from the deaths of millions on babies? 25% of pregnancies end up destroyed; the Aztecs who practiced child sacrifice killed 20%. So who is more savage and blood-thirsty Matthews? You people sacrifice those innocents to the devil, may God's justice be on your head and on your friends in the DNC.

Yet there you sit casting aspersions, judging everyone else who DOESN"T sacrifice at the altar of political correctness. It's you and your party that's Satanic.

Your headline makes the statement as if this is something new, I don't understand. Christy "Tinglelegs" "Manlove" Matthews has always been on the edge of insane, He has consumed so much of the koolaid over the years that brain rot set in a long time ago. He would be unable to conduct a conversation without the DNC talking points in front of him. The reason he only has quest from the left or at best RINOs is because he can't begin to justify his comments and beliefs with anything close to facts.

But if anyone says word one against Obama, they are branded a racist, bigoted, Islamophobic, homophobic hater.

This has to stop. I've had enough of Matthews and his imbecilic comrades.
