Conn. Town to ABC's Liberal Hidden Video Show: Get Out
What Would You Do?, an ABC News hidden camera program that often engineers scenarios to expose the supposed bigotry of Americans, was asked on Wednesday to stop filming by the town of Greenwich, Connecticut.
The ABC program uses a hidden camera to see how people react. On February 4, 2011, host John Quinones explained how the show hired an actor to play a security guard and pretend to harass Mexicans. The piece, billed as an investigation of Arizona's immigration law, featured the faux-security guard spewing, "...If they're not legal citizens, they shouldn't be here. They should be deported. They look Mexican."
On March 4, 2011, Quinones and his TV crew constructed a hidden camera scenario that involved gay military veterans expressing physical affection for each other in a diner.
The journalist narrated, "They're holding hands, stroking each other's hair and caressing each other's legs...So what will happen if we throw in our actor Vince, posing as an irritated diner, who's had enough of this PDA."
On January 6, 2009, Quinones took the program abroad to find out how actors portraying "ugly Americans" would be treated in France. Quinones chided, "The loud, clueless American, oblivious to French manners and culture, and the haughty French, who seem to relish putting them in their place."
Notice that, even in another country, the ABC program still focused on uncouth, prejudiced Americans.
Not all the shows are political, however. Writing for the Greenwich Times, staff writer David Hennessey explained how the town of Greenwich reacted:
Story Continues Below Ad ↓We told them, `You can't film here,' " Dustin Anderson, the executive assistant to First Selectman Peter Tesei, said, describing the Tuesday filming around Greenwich Avenue of the hit ABC show "What Would You Do?" as "disruptive."
Tesei said the show's crew was allowed to complete its filming Tuesday, but was asked to choose another location for a Wednesday shoot.
The show, hosted by John Quinones, stages ethically challenging situations and follows the reactions of bystanders. The hidden camera series "puts ordinary people on the spot," according to the show's website.
Hennessey added, "Capt. Tim Berry, of the Greenwich Police Department, said the scene that caused a stir Tuesday involved an intoxicated adult who needs to be driven by a child."

"Let's construct a scenario that illustrates the bigotry and intolerance of conservatives/Republicans". The entire premise of their construct is that if you disagree with outwardly displays of homosexual affection, or illegal immigration, you must be wrong, and let's demonstrate that for our viewers.
Oh, and just to make sure that we get a good representation, we'll lump in those who want reasonable, LEGAL immigration with some bigot who says, "They LOOK Mexican".

"What Would You Do?" is a show promotes fraud and manipulation. Mirrors ABC News quite aptly. It's nothing more than unethical journalistic entrapment.
Assuming the Worst in People

The left has the belief that people are inherently bad and it is the duty of government to control the actions and thoughts of these bad people.
This show operates under the same philosophy, people are bad and runs with that premise. Not only do they operate under that assumption, they go on to use conservative values as their examples of "bad".
I've seen this show a few times and look at it as an assumption wandering around looking for proof.

So much for liberals believing that people are inherently good. I've seen that claim made before, and frankly, stunts like this show just make me think it's B.S. If liberals really believed people were inherently good, would they allow the government so much control over said people's lives? No, I think you're right, Mr. Ed - they despise anyone who doesn't think like them and delude themselves into believing they are the rightful rulers of the world.
Did they run out of scenarios to manufacture?

No more gas tanks to rig?
I am surprised that any municipality would ever want to allow this kind of jingoism in its borders. Not only bad for public relations, but the situations are contrived so all possible outcomes have a negative attached to them. There is no way to discern intent versus pure bad luck.
And they give James O'Keefe a hard time.

Here's where the wheels come off for ABC and this show.
Let's just say that I took great offense to the security guard's tirade about illegal immigrants and got in his face over it. If it wasn't a reality TV show, the cops would surely be called by the store and I'd be charged with something like trespassing or disorderly conduct.
Now, being it's a reality TV show, and given the position of liberals and their being in cahoots with the ACLU, I'd probably be sued, if not arrested for attempting to stifle the guard's "right to free speech".
Either way, ABC is out to deliberately make people look bad.
See, in the "old days", I could jaw at him all I want, flip him the bird if I was so inclined and be on my way. If he pursued the matter, we'd simply settle it outside, win or lose.

Would be nice if abc had a show about the people of America who daily help others, showing how generous and caring they are. It is quite obvious that because abc dislikes America and their great qualities they waste time and money on this garbage. All cities where this hateful show is produced should do what was done in Greenwich. Libs are very sad people and their hate for this great country is a disgrace. And their agenda being spewed all over the world is even more discusting. Move out, if America doesn't satisfy your needs. You could join Penn, Barbra and Baldwin. Go go go

Vile Trash
Submitted by ljacone on Thu, 08/25/2011 - 1:04pm.
What Would You Do? has to be one of the most vile pieces of trash on the airwaves today. This show is demonstrative of the problems with the media's presentation (fabrication of reality in order to illict an emotional response) and the political bias they bring to the table. How bald-faced and obvious can you be? "Control the narrative, control the narrative!" and all that bullflop.
I must say, though, that I liked the time they tried to find hypocrites in Texas with a fake scenario about a young couple arguing about whether to have an abortion. Of course, ALL of the Texans encouraged them not to have the abortion and many asked to pray with them. Such scandal.

So can we assume that this program also showed us what would happen to a Hummer with a Bush/Cheney bumper-sticker while parked at a San Francisco Starbucks? Will we be seeing the reactions to a Santa Claus at the entrance to a Whole Foods? Will we see a scenerio where a middle-aged white guy jogs down a back alley in the hood at 2am? Will we see videos of "Ugly Mexicans" as they go to shopkeepers in the US and blather on in Es-pan-nole with their sour frowned faces? No? We won't see those videos?

There you will find Hummer H-1 (original models) covered with Sierra Club and enviro-loon bumperstickers parked in the fire lane outside of a Starbucks. Of course, the driver is usually dressed like Haight-Ashbury circa 1967, and has probably not bathed or showered in three weeks and decries the use of antiperspirants and deodorants as "unnatural".
Yes--that is a true example and the driver involved was one of my former patients who tried to get me to write for a high dose of Xanax to deal with "environmental dysphoric disorder" she read about on some psychobabble website. She didn't like my advice to knock off the booze and pot (first appointment, she smelled like a rotting bong) and she promptly told me I was "not the kind of doc" she wanted. I was not sorry to see her go.

Grammajane is correct- the news CHOOSES what is wants to air and its too bad that they focus largely on how "bad" Americans are. Honestly, the 24/7 news cycle with its "breaking news" and constant opining by soft-news blowhards is getting OLD.

Make her Michelle Bacchman saying that same remark about people who are in the CBC, NAACP etc, etc in front of fellow americans and it would have been story one, page one and she would have been out of the race.
