ABC, CBS Heap Praise on 'Baby Whisperer' Barack Obama and His 'Magic' Touch

The ABC and CBS morning shows on Wednesday  gushed over "baby whisperer" Barack Obama. Both Good Morning America and the Early Show played White House-produced video of the President comforting a baby while working a rope line.

GMA's Lara Spencer lauded, "You know, the President is plenty busy trying to turn the economy around. But he still has time to stop some babies from crying, of course."

[See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Spencer narrated footage of First Lady Michelle Obama handing the wailing child to her husband. After the baby quit crying, the journalist enthused, "Finally is President Obama a baby whisperer? The leader of the free world worked his magic on this munchkin a few days ago at the White House."

GMA co-host George Stephanopoulos even wondered if this incident could cause Mrs. Obama to rethink her lack of interest in having more children.

On the website for CBS's Early Show, the headline for the story was "the baby whisperer." This graphic wasn't used on the program, but co-host Chris Wragge touted, "Before the First Lady left for Washington, she learned something about her husband. He seems to have a way with babies."

As the MRC's Brent Baker previously reported, Nightly News anchor Brian Williams on Tuesday hyped, "The White House would probably love for us to believe this next piece of videotape is evidence of special healing powers."

A transcript of the two morning show segments can be found below:

LARA SPENCER: You know, the President is plenty busy trying to turn the economy around. But he still has time to stop some babies from crying, of course. It's the video you have to see to believe. And it's all ahead in just a minute.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Instead of kissing babies, he goes right and stops the baby from crying.

SPENCER: Finally is President Obama a baby whisperer? The leader of the free world worked his magic on this munchkin a few days ago at the White House. Now, watch as the First Lady tries to quiet down the fussy little friend. She's got no luck doing it. She then hands the bawling baby to the big man and presto, the tot is simply transfixed. And Mrs. O, she looks shocked that the dad in chief hasn't lost his touch. And, guys, I just want to notice, I wanted to see if you noticed, did you see a little swagger? "I still got it. I still got it."

ROBIN ROBERTS: "I got it. I still got it."

SPENCER: Yeah.

STEPHANOPOULOS: The President said Michele didn't want any more kids. Maybe she'll change her mind now.

CHRIS WRAGGE: Before the First Lady left for Washington, she learned something about her husband. He seems to have a way with babies. Yes, I'm not sure if you saw this one. They were greeting the President and First Lady, greeting some visitors on Monday, and Mrs. Obama was holding a baby that wouldn't stop crying. So she handed the infant to the President. The baby stopped crying right away to his delight and the First Lady's amazement.

If Moochie the Clydesdale were holding me, I'd be screaming my head off and wishing for somebody, ANYBODY, to come to my rescue.  Even Rosie O'Donnell (Barf) would be an improvement over Moochie.

I think Bambi's talent to quiet babies whining is what got him elected since most liberals I know are cry babies all the time.  They must have recognized his talent in that arena.  Too bad that's all the bastard can do.

As for Lara Spencer; darlin' you need a real man!  I can't believe the "organism" you were having over Bambi and the Baby (I see a book coming soon!).  Have you ever had a date?

How many ways today to make me barf from the news of the Chairman and his wife?  First it's the queen for a day or whatever with the surprise visit to Mandela(after the prez refused to meet with her but sent his prison minister instead, message anyone?) who probably didn't want to meet with them but couldn't say no, now they are making the Chairman someone really good with kids even though he's destroying our kids future with the crap he's pulled??

Excuse me, clear the way, make a path, I'm gonna BARF!

SOFTBALL STORIES ABOUT LOVEABLE OBAMA

Submitted by cbeyer on Wed, 06/22/2011 - 4:36pm.

Avoid a discussion of a failed economy, disasterous lack of a cohesive foreign policy, energy prices etc etc. This Puff piece follows another done by ABC about OBAMA...the father leading up to Father's day.

Our country is in shambles...yet the mainstream media continues with OBAMAWORSHIP. All pretenses of Journalism at CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS and most major newspapers and newswire services are gone... The emperor has no clothes (MSM).

One of the most inane comments I've heard this year

Submitted by Galvanic on Wed, 06/22/2011 - 4:37pm.

STEPHANOPOULOS: "The President said Michele didn't want any more kids. Maybe she'll change her mind now."

Are you suggesting that the President's talent for stopping the crying of an infant has developed since his daughters were born?

I know it was a throwaway line, but it's really stupid.

Please, we all know the baby

Submitted by Scuba Dude on Wed, 06/22/2011 - 4:38pm.

Please, we all know the baby knew who the Mommy is in the Obama family. Mommies are always able to quiet a baby, that is why the kid calmed down when Odumbo held him.

Submitted by Van Halen on Wed, 06/22/2011 - 4:54pm.

The Left is going to have to make up their minds.
The baby whisperer is the Commander in Chief of millions of baby killers.
Abortion is good.
Babies are wonderful.
But if you have more babies than the State recommends, it hurts the environment.
All babies are equal but some shouldn't be born because they'll be poor.
Vote Democrat. For the children.

Hey kid, when you grow up and see how much you have to pay because of O's runaway spending, you'll really be bawling your eyes out.

Do you know what the approval rating was of the president before Obama? 34%. So don't blame Obama, he inherited terrible poll numbers!

Finally, he's found something he's good at! He should immediately resign his position and write a book on calming crying babies; or create a reality show called Baracking Chair -or something like that. Maybe an instructional video to be aired in all Planned Parenthood facilities.

Look, we're all talented in our own way -maybe this is his calling.
