Is "World News" anchor Charles Gibson already planning for Barack Obama's second term? The ABC journalist briefly wrapped up coverage from the President's prime-time press conference on Wednesday and signed off by asserting, "100 days in office. 1,362 days remaining in his first term." 1362 days left in his first term? Was that a bit of a Freudian slip?
Even Gibson, however, seemed to notice the incredible softball question from New Times reporter Jeff Zeleny about what had "enchanted" Obama the most during his first 100 days. Gibson asserted, "...I suspect the question that will get the most attention, what has surprised you about being President, what troubled you, what enchanted you and what has humbled you now that you've been in the White House?"

CHARLES GIBSON: The President concluding his third primetime news conference on 100 days in the White House. Starting with a statement of saying that he feels they've had a good start, pleased, not satisfied with the way things have gone. Thought they'd gotten off to a good start. But, as he said, it is just a start. And then he also talked about the flu outbreak that's occurred in this country and, interestingly, said that parents, perhaps, should be thinking about contingency plans if, indeed, the schools of their children have to close. And then it was a wide-ranging news conference, covering so many different subjects, border closings, the auto injury, questions about torture, questions about Pakistan and then I suspect the question that will get the most attention, what has surprised you about being President, what troubled you, what enchanted you and what has humbled you now that you've been in the White House. And he concluded there, as you saw, with a rather exhaustive list of the kinds of problems that he has had to deal with in his first 100 days in office, that he will have to deal with in succeeding days. He said it is not the hand, necessarily, that I would like to have been dealt, but it is the one I was dealt and we will deal with it. 100 days in office. 1,362 days remaining in his first term. Under that name, I did copious amounts of research and note-taking as to who was who, who was liberal, who was conservative, etc. I even posted a forum topic regarding this subject. It wasa very fruitful venture.
Then, when I felt it was time, I relinquished my dborschjr68 name and returned as pelicanmarsh, as you can easily see.
"Being found out" implies I was here to be a "troll" or trouble-maker, and this is simply not the case. My core beliefs are to the extreme right of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter combined. I have never been banned or flamed or ridiculed publicly on NB. I was, however, banned from a certain off-site chat room, which was unfortunate. The only criticism I have received for this came to me via private message, and there it will remain.
While I await the arrival of my firstborn (anyday now, I hope!), I have busied myself coming here to NB to enjoy the amusing goings-on of this small slice of the Internet.
In truth I am currently smiling, as I now have complete confirmation that there has been some drama behind-the-scenes regarding my multiple identity experiment.
So far I have been right about every observation I have made on my notes.
(sigh)...either way, even after writing this attempt to clarify faulty second-hand info you have been given, I fear it will be construed as some kind of "troll" manuever or tactic. How I wish it would not be so. Nothing I have written here was written with snarky or sarcastic intent.
