ABC's David Wright Knocks Sarah Palin as Barbie

"Nightline" reporter David Wright on Monday inserted a gratuitous slam of Sarah Palin into a seemingly innocuous segment covering the 50^th anniversary of the Barbie doll. Recounting the various versions of the Mattel toy, he set up the attack: "[Barbie's] been an astronaut and a rock star. Pop icons Beyonce and Shakira. She's won 'American Idol' too." Right after footage of the "President Barbie" doll appeared onscreen, the segment cut to various clips of a stylish-looking Palin. Wright derided, "Some would argue she also ran for vice president in 2008."

During the 2008 presidential election, Wright would occasionally throw in a out-of-left field shot at Palin or the Republican ticket. Reporting for "Good Morning America" on October 22, he discussed the Republican vice presidential candidate's attacks on Barack Obama and editorialized, "Her own glass house notwithstanding, Sarah Palin has thrown some stones on the issue, too, even though she's not above making gaffes of her own."

In a post-election look back on the November 5 "World News," Wright nastily commented that while some Americans were "impressed" with the Alaska governor, "plenty of others came to see Sarah Palin as an empty designer suit." On October 31 2008, Wright took a swipe at McCain backer Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher, deriding him on "Nightline" as "the Ohio plumber who has become a campaign mascot."

A transcript of the relevant part of the February 16 "Nightline" segment follows:

I saw that segment too with BOR regarding Thomas...I feel as you do about it...I got irritated with all of them if memory serves me right....which it may not...lol.

Anyway, about Spokane, it is growing more and more left also, sadly. WA. has about had it for any repubs in anytime soon, Ol'Tennis-Shoe is still in, and she is always full of the same ol' BS...I don't know if we will ever get rid of her or Cantwell...good ol' King County, it'll get you every time, even if you really didn't win...the dems have complete control in the courts etc.

too many part-time jobs, plus the whole election has me down. I know, I know, I need to keep my spirits up and keep working, but the stupidity of the electorate...Oddly enough one of my students, a hispanic male, is a Republican who voted for McCain and is not a fan of the current "leadership".

He has a real entrepreneurial mind and has bought and sold many houses in addition to owning a bar...all at the young age of 28. Perhaps my own discussion should give me hope.

David Wright better be careful about compairing Palin to Barbie. Barbie has been around a long time, I get the feeling that Palin will be as well. I also get the impression that she learned quite a bit running with McCain, & I don't see her making the same screw-ups that were made by the McCain people.

Also, it is very clear to see that the MSM & the Dems(1 in the same) view Palin as a big threat in the future. Why would they spend so much time trying to destroy her reputation? Note to the MSM, worry about trying to cover for your guy & make sure he can ride without training wheels. When, not if this "porkulus" package fails, there will be NOBODY to blame but Obama & the Dems who wrote this turd. Even some in the MSM won't be able to ignore it. I can't wait.

My husband got me to join Facebook. I have reconnected with a lot of former high school classmates.

The hatred of Sarah Palin is all over Facebook. I know some of my lib friends are in the groups. One of the groups is called "I have more foreign policy experience than Sarah Palin" The funny thing about that group is that it was started by someone from Austrilia.

The left is scared of Sarah Palin.

Another thing, my mother is a lib. There is only one other person my mother has talked more negative about than Sarah Palin that would be Ronald Reagan.

The Huffington Post has an AP story titled Sarah Palin In Trouble As Oil Prices Fall:AP

If the AP writes it and the Huffinton Post prints it with a headline like that than the article has to shed a negative light on Gov. Palin. RIGHT?

WRONG! If you read the article you discover that:

1. "The state has socked away $1 billion in an education fund for the next
school year and education officials say another $1 billion is expected
go into the fund this year for future use. More billions went into
state savings as well, Palin said."

2. "The state currently has $6.6 billion in its constitutional budget
reserve fund that it could tap into. A few billion dollars more also is
available from other pockets, said Juneau economist Gregg Erickson, a
longtime Alaska budget watcher. Given Alaska's robust reserves, the state is well-prepared to weather the next two years, Erickson said."

So here I am expecting another hit piece on Gov. Palin, and it turns out that the Huffington Post headline is pure fabrication! Sara Palin is not in trouble. The title of the article should read: Alaska in Excellent Financial Shape Thanks to Gov. Palin.

I'm not the only one that noticed that the Huffington Post headline did not fit the article. In a Google search of the headline, I came across an article at the Weekly Standard that also noticed a disparity between the Huffinton Post headline and the actual article.

Am I surprised at the Huffington Post's false headline? NO. As Rush Limbaugh has said of the Left: "They support fakes, they nominate fakes, they promote and market fakes, and they look at real stories and condemn them as fakes."

We sure could use Gov. Palin here in California, where RINO Gov. Schwarzenegger and the democrats have created a 50 billion dollar deficit.
