It seems that the media, as highlighted by NewsBuster Kyle Drennen, seems to think border security is a joke. That must be why none of the supposed mainstream media sources are bothering to cover the group of illegal aliens who sued a US citizen for 32 million dollars in federal court. The defendant is an Arizona rancher who is trying to prevent said illegals from destroying his property. According to a report in the Washington Times online newspaper, the illegals filed suit against Arizona resident and US citizen Roger Barnett " for violating their civil rights". The Washington Times says that,
An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Roger Barnett, 64, began rounding up illegal immigrants in 1998 and turning them over to the U.S. Border Patrol, he said, after they destroyed his property, killed his calves and broke into his home.
His Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as "the avenue of choice" for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally.
I'm not sure which part of this story is more outrageous- that a group of people who are deliberately breaking laws and destroying someone else' property have the gall to actually sue a citizen of that country who is merely trying to protect his property, or that the US courts are so skewed that they would allow a group of self-admitted criminals to sue someone who was attempting to enforce the law.
And of course, the fact that the government admits that Mr. Barnett's ranch is a 'known crossing point' for illegals is aggravating as well. If so, why can't the government actually put some effort into enforcing the laws on the books? And since the media is so forward in covering the supposed hardship of these illegal aliens, it would be nice if once in a while they would cover the negative effects that these people have on the victims of their lawless entry. I can only assume that this is why they are not covering the story- Mr. Barnett is not of the correct nationality. The Washington Times is to be congratulated for presenting Mr. Barnett's side of the story
It is time and past time for our government to enforce border security. It is also past time for our media to stop covering for people who are lawbreakers. A man's home is supposed to be his castle, but while the government feels no constraints in zealously checking if a homeowner is smoking at home (and then fining him if he does), they become suddenly listless in actually helping said homeowner protect his property from a hostile invasion.
I cannot imagine an outcome where our courts will rule against the illegals, but it would be nice. And it would also be nice if once in a while, our media would actually do the job of covering both sides of the story. Now that would be 'balance'.

If the Judge fails to throw this case out then he should be removed from the bench and disbarred.

I cannot think of the three valiant ladies here in the NW who were on committees in the House, Chenowith (Id) was one, she has since passed away, regarding this at the time over the years, who made a dent, a stop for awhile of the progress the leftists had in mind to take over chip by chip, and they have succeeded more than most know.

There was a time when cases like this would never have seen the light of day because most lawyers knew that at best they’d be laughed out of the courthouse, and at worst they’d be sanctioned for insulting the intelligence of the court.
Not so anymore. Either the judges are activist, or too spineless to toss the case for lack of merit. This is where all the insanity starts.
