Colbert OWS Interviewee 'Ketchup' Reveals Self as Wacko
The "female-bodied person" named "Ketchup" as she identifies herself must have struggled mightily to suppress her inner loon while being interviewed by Stephen Colbert along with her camera hog Occupy Wall Street companion from Zuccotti Park, Justin Wedes. Although she unknowingly delivered a lot of comedy material such as her self-description and silly GroupThink hand, arm, and finger signals, Ketchup presented a rather calm demeanor thoughout the interview (video below the fold). In fact, her dead serious manner was what originally kept me from believing that Ketchup was the same ranting person at the tail end of the infamous Edward T. Hall video despite the identical appearance.
Well, it turns out that according to The People's Cube, Ketchup and the crazed woman, oops, I mean female-bodied person in the Ted Hall video are one and the same.
Yes, she is deadly serious and emotionless in the video above but now observe Ketchup when she isn't putting on her calm game face for the benefit of Stephen Colbert at the 1:35 mark in the video below.
Quite a change, eh? In fairness to Ketchup, however, I don't agree with The People's Cube that she is a "stoner." I believe that Ketchup's bizarre behavior is the result of either a personality disorder or that she is just a flat out loon who has no need of drugs to explain her wildly alternating moods. As to her "male-bodied" companions, they do seem to have something in common, namely that they are privileged members of the Pretend Proletariat who engage in bored rich kids Fantasy Slumming at Zuccotti Park. While Edward T. Hall III is the beneficiary of a trust fund, it appears that Justin Wedes also comes from a wealthy bubble that has insulated him from his surroundings.
The Detroit Free Press reports that Wedes is from the plush Michigan community of Huntington Woods. A website describes Huntington Woods real estate as "some of the most expensive in Michigan" with a per capita income in the year 2000 of $45,264. Although Wedes worked for awhile as a teacher in New York, he is no longer employed so one wonders how he manages to live in that metropolitan area which is not cheap plus enjoy horseback riding vacations on the Caribbean island of Vieques. Apparently Justin is not among those oppressed by the EVIL corporations.
And does Ketchup have a female-bodied, finger wiggling sister named Mustard?
p.s. It will be interesting to see if Colbert presents the crazed Ketchup from the end of the Ted Hall video as a followup to his interview.

Shouldn't advocate for changing things that need changing? I think that the very fact that there are many well off, even wealthy, individuals involved in this national movement is indicative of it's truth. Truth which is not defined by the rantings of a few young people nor of the bad elements committing violent acts, but by the reality that the government and the big business that run this country for their own benefit have gone too far.
Politicians are owned by the big money interests and do anything they want but clearly do not do what is in the best interests of those who elected them. Many times they do exactly the opposite of what people want.
Corporations are not evil nor is wealth nor is capitalism. What is evil is the lack of awareness or concern from those who run the show as to what their actions do to the nation. OWS is not about handouts, it is about re-setting the rules to level the playing field a bit and to hold people accountable.

A number of these older protesters are reliving what they consider their glory years by participating in the irritation known as OWS. Between the noise, stench and crimes (rape, molestation, prostitution, drugs, theft) the neighborhoods where these protesters are living in the little Obamavilles have become uninhabitable by public health standards. No running water, inadequate sewage and lack of other utilities are common.
And for some examples of handout greed, irresponsibility and celebrity stupidity:
1) The dimbulb who complained that someone had stolen her $5,500 Apple computer; and who complained someone had stolen the food money for the camp for that day;
2) The 38-year old banker's wife who abandoned her husband and children to go to the OWS protests citing her "support network" will have to carry on in her place (think HER kids are going to be in therapy for a while?);
3) The innumerable signs and pictures of recent college grads complaining that they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on highly questionable majors like [insert name here] studies and can't find jobs, and expecting the government to just cancel their student loans; and finally
4) The enormous cadre of movie stars and assorted celebrities coming out of the woodwork (all of whom are part of that 1%) to support the protesters, but suddenly can't find a pen to write out a check for the extra taxes they want everyone to pay or to liquidate their fortunes to give to the truly poor.
No, coinless, it's not about the handouts--it's about the hypocrisy of those involved in the OWS protests. As they become more violent (as in Oakland and other cities) and as more crime and threats to the area residents is created, this can all be laid at the doorstep of Ear Leader--the president who blessed their movement. What goes around, comes around. When it shows up on his front lawn, let's see how he responds.

I remember them quite well. In '61 we started downhill under Kennedy and did not go back uphill til '81 under President Ronald Reagan. The darkest years were under Carter the Kook. Now Obabble the Bungler has taken over as the worst.

Nothing is stopping those wealthy OWS supporters from voluntarily paying more in taxes to the government. Furthermore, who is more beholding to big money than Obama, who is totally owned by the big money labor union interests. By all means let's hold people accountable starting with the OWS crowd who are comitting acts of vandalism and rape.
