DUers and Kossacks Punch Themselves Silly for Believing in Weiner

By P.J. Gladnick | June 07, 2011 | 21:43

A  A

The sounds of the slaps you hear are those of the DUers at the Democratic Underground and the Kossacks at the Daily Kos slapping themselves silly for ever believing Anthony Weiner's very obvious lies. The only thing that makes them angrier than their gullibility being publicly exposed is the fact that Weiner apologized to Andrew Breitbart. That really drove them over the edge and contributed greatly to their sudden disillusionment with the New York congressman.

To get a handle on the unbelievable extent of their gullibility, we need to take a short trip down memory lane to just over a week ago to May 29 when the DUers were completly buying into the assertion in the title of their thread, "Anthony Weiner: Hackers posted lewd photos on Twitter." A few choice tidbits of their outrage over the belief that it was Weiner who was hacked:

I knew those monsters would go after Weiner. They always attack the best of us. Psychopaths always attack your strengths. Grrrrr

They messed with the wrong person this time. Anthony Weiner is not going to be silent while they go after him. This could actually be a good thing.

The DUers righteous anger at the "injustice" done to Weiner boiled over into another thread that weekend, "Breitbart publishes risqué photo, claims it’s Anthony Weiner’s wiener," which was chock full of indignation as you can see:

Breitbart is not very bright to mess with Anthony Weiner. He will get his ass kicked.

Following Weiner's disastrous press conference and more evasiveness last week, few rational people believed his story about being hacked. Note the qualifying word "rational" which pretty much left the DUers and their leftwing Kossack cousins out of the loop as you can see by the very title of their June 1 DU thread, "I believe Wiener." Some choice tidbits from the world of the not exactly rational:

There is no way in this world that a man with as good a head on his shoulders is going to do something so juvinile...just no way..

Personally, I think he knows something that he cannot reveal just now, but which will sink Breitbart's operation. I think he doesn't want to let on what it is and that's why he is stonewalling.

Well, I never doubted Anthony Weiner for one second.

So comes Monday and the "never doubted" Weiner finally confessed to being both the hacker and the liar. Even more painful for the DUers, as well as the Kossacks, was the fact that Weiner apologized to Andrew Breitbart, That sent them into a fury as you can see in this Kossack thread, "Weiner accepts responsibility for sending Tweet; Apologizes, won't resign." Here the crow eating Kossack reaction to the Breitbart salt being rubbed into their wounds:

The f---ing media wants Weiner to apologize to Andrew Breitbart, which Weiner delivers.

I hate giving them this shit to harp on and giving Breitbart credibility is the worst part of the whole thing.

This guy just vindicated breitbart. I can't think of a more collosal f'up.

That's the worst part. &$*%ing Breitbart is vindicated in this instance.

That Breitbart appears to be vindicated is really the hardest part of this whole sordid mess to stomach. This ordinarily lying scum is going to be hailed as Man of the Century on FAUX News for the next month. Aaarrgh.

My problem is that Andrew Breitbart comes out of this piece of dreck smelling like a rose. He was right. Now he's earned himself a boatload of credibility.

Besides their anger over the vindication of Breitbart, the Kossacks also hated the fact that they would be forced to publicly eat crow as you can see in the comedy classic post:

I'm pissed. I look like a f---ing jerk for defending the guy to my conservative friends. I'll be eating crap and they won't listen to a damn thing I say politically for the next four months. Sometimes I can persuade them to not be such douchebags, but I'm in for a very uncomfortable time now. Thanks, Rep Weiner.

Perhaps the most hilarious thread of all was published at the DU on Monday just after Weiner confessed to lying and DUer MineralMan was embarrassed into engaging in a very public act of self-flagellation for placing his complete faith in the Congressman, leading off with:

I spent much of today defending Congressman Weiner.

Unfortunately for MineralMan, he suddenly discovers what ordinary simpletons already knew... That Weiner was (GASP) lying:

Now that he has 'fessed up to his sleazy behavior, I'm embarrassed about my defense of him. I like what he does in Congress. I like his positions. I like what he stands for. But, he lied to me and I stood up for him here on DU, where a number of people were questioning his veracity. They were correct, and I was incorrect in my assessment of the man.

More of MineralMan's anger at Weiner for being made to look the fool:

I no longer trust Congressman Weiner. I no longer believe what he says. He lied to me, and I stood behind him, based on his statements in this scandal. I don't care if he was d---ing around on the Internet with women. That's a matter of no consequence to me. I care that he lied about it and caused me to defend him in his lies. That, in my opinion, is unethical behavior, and that I will not tolerate or support.

Besides his anger at being made to look stupid, MineralMan is outraged over the vindication of Breitbart to whom Weiner apologized:

In his lies, he has given credibility to an ugly pseudo-journalist and added to Breitbart's influence. That is a very negative consequence of this incident. A very negative consequence.

You can watch MineralMan and a lot of other DUers as well as Kossacks eating large portions of crow at the DUmmie FUnnies here and here.

The Andrew Weiner tragicomedy, emphasis on comedy, continues.....

bad day at work, so I really needed a good laugh, and this was great. self-righteous lefties warning about "messing with the wrong guy this time!"

what I find troubling--and revealing--is the hatred they have for Breitbart. supposedly they hate him because he is a liar. but when he's proven NOT to be a liar...they still hate him. oh those libs!

Gee, this comment demonstrates that Liberals really are much more sophisticated, eloquent ,and nuanced than us conservatives.

BTW, don't worry one bit about your credibility Eloquent Liberal, your "d-bag conservative friends" have probably never really listened to "a damn thing" you say of a political nature. And the way you describe yourself, you will look like a "****ing jerk" not because of your defense of Weiner, but because you sound like you're already one to begin with.

  • They are miffed that Breitbart is being exonerated on basis that he didn't actually do what they accused him of
  • If Weiner said he was hacked, they acted like it was Gospel, just the type of thing that they see in "wingnuts"
  • They believed or INVENTED a conspiracy with little basis--just like they project about "wingnuts".
  • They are still following this "vast right-wing conspiracy" line of bull fostered by the Clinton administration
  • Now, they are mad that they have to stand up for positions they took.

Clinton perjured himself. And Clinton didn't just exchange pictures. Myriad libs parroted Clinton as first he didn't, and then he did--but oral sex is not really sex, and they believed him totally no matter what his latest story was. They just had the trail of the "vast right-wing conspiracy" to intrigue them.

This is peanuts compared to Bill's perjury, sophist "depends on what is is", and the President of the United States' contempt for the law.

Submitted by The_Barrel_Guy on Wed, 06/08/2011 - 2:59am.

Excellent post!!

Our problematic issues of political ethics today can be laid at the doorstep of William Jefferson Blythe Clinton...

Hopefully, if our great nation survives, historians will recognize just how detrimental -- even devastating -- were Clinton's views and just how narcissistic they were...

At least twice -- the Illinois votes of 1960 and the potential harm of impeachment following his reelection -- Richard Milhous Nixon put the needs of the country ahead of his personal needs. William Clinton felt no such obligation...

Clinton was once asked why he did what he did... His answer: "Because I could." What an ass!!! Had Clinton felt one tiny measure of duty, one tiny measure of honor, one tiny measure of country, he would have resigned and changed the entire direction of political discourse today...

  • It is NOT OK to get your rocks off with an intern...
  • It is NOT OK to use the Presidential office as your own personal sex suite...
  • It is NOT OK to assume your wife will be OK if you are doing your jollies while she is upstairs...
  • It is NOT OK to look the American people straight in the eye and lie...
  • It is NOT OK to line up a group of women political hacks (my own senator feinstein included) behind you to give you cover while you lie to the American people

Enough... What we are going through today is the direct result of the lies of Bill Clinton and the willingness of the media to accept them...

Tell me again... Why would you even consider a democrap for elective office?

We must fight to win every battle for liberty... The enemy needs only win once!

During the weekend they could not wait until Fat Ed's return to MSNBC. When he returned and began saying Weiner should resign, they turned on him like rabid dogs. LOL. So far the past few days have been like a gift.

. . . own quotes.  The very next night he was challenging GOP Congressman Eric Cantor to call for Sen. Vitter's resignation over his name appearing on the customer list of the DC Madame -- apparently he partook of the services seven years ago.

Watching the post-confession behavior of all the Lefties who rallied to Weiner is entertaining.  Once again, like the Edwards story, the Left preferred to ignore the facts, and when an outside agent (National Enquirer; Big Government.com)  revealed the truth, they were at once disheartened and embarrassed.

And it may not be over.  Breitbart acknowledged on Hannity that the photo he says he will never release is one of an aroused, naked Mr. Weiner.   We know that Weiner has it, and the woman (women?) he sent it to has it, and Breitbart has it.  How many others have it, and when will it emerge?

The Left and MSM know that the term Weiner-gate is the gift that will keep on giving even after (if?) Weiner disappears from the scene.  And as usual, the heaviest damage is a result of the denial rather than the act itself.

Pelosi and Schumer are too intimidated by Weiner to demand his resignation, and they tremble in the knowledge that the naked hard-on photo is still out there, ready to be posted if Weiner doesn't quit.  Like I alluded to yesterday, it's like the Acme anvil dangling in mid-air over Wily E. Coyote's head -- you know it's going to come down at some point.

Pelosi and Schumer know that they have to . . .

. . . keep harmony in the Democratic family, and Weiner has always been the petulant brat. He was useful to them demagoguing on the floor of the House, doing his progressive 'pit bull' act in front of C-SPAN cameras.  But now, there's always the potential that a rejuvenated Weiner will pull the act again to defend himself.

Weiner is also a narcissist; that's why he won't resign (at least right now). He'll take only so much criticism from them before he lashes out.

I believe that they will avoid coming down hard on him because they don't know what he'll do when he explodes. It's like kids who avoid saying anything to a bully out of fear of retaliation.

Pelosi is gutless; we saw that in the way she let Rangel keep his Chair for so long.   She's hoping that something else -- the Ethics Committee; NY state redistricting -- will take care of the problem before she has to.

Submitted by Cape Conservative on Wed, 06/08/2011 - 10:45am.

who claims she was an 'innocent' victim is just as bad as Weiner! NO ONE made her send her pictures to a stranger!!!! NOW she says as a congressman, he shouldn't have been doing that...but...NO ONE made her respond.

Sorry...but NO ONE was holding a gun to her head while she and he were typing away 'communicating'! A smart woman would have never even sent a reply, much less HUNDREDS of responses! It appears that today's young women have no concept of what is right and what is wrong.

This man is such a poor reflection on the rest of the members of Congress - we can only hope that most do not buy into such perverted behavior!

And...as usual, as a Democrat, he is treated with kid gloves! He makes me want to PUKE!
