ATF Whistleblower Website Leads the Way in Project Gunrunner Scandal Reporting

"Word is that curios George Gillett the Phoenix ASAC stepped on it again. Allegedly he has approved more than 500 AR-15 type rifles from Tucson and Phoenix cases to be walked to Mexico. Appears that ATF may be one of the largest suppliers of assault rifles to the Mexican cartels! One of these rifles is rumored to have been linked to the recent killing of a Border Patrol Officer in Nogales, AZ. Can anyone confirm this information?"

Thus began the first post last December on an historic thread at the CleanUp ATF forum website on the subject of the Project Gunrunner scandal. This website, which features postings by former and current whistleblowing members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is currently leading the way in reportage of this scandal, leaving most of the MSM in the dust. Anybody interested in getting up to speed on this scandal should check out CleanUp ATF for the very latest developments as seen from whistleblowers from inside the ATF.

Only a  few other sources are reporting on this, particularly the blog of Gun Rights Examiner, David Codrea, who ironically named this scandal "Operation Gunwalker" plus some reporting from FOX news as well as CBS investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson whose fascinating report can be seen in this video. Unfortunately, except for the sources cited, there has been very little reporting in the mainstream media on this rapidly developing scandal. For those of you interested in following this, including MSM reporters whose organizations have so far ignored this scandal, the best place to get  the latest breaking information continues to be from the whistleblowing AFT personnel (former and current) at CleanUp ATF.

Here are some more intriguing postings from their Operation Gunrunner/Fast & Furious/Phoenix Division thread:

Fox News about a year ago did a good report to disprove the myth that most of the crime guns recovered in Mexico came from the US. This report was based upon evidence they obtained in part from ATF trace reports. However, with the recent flooding of guns being “walked” to Mexico by ATF (intended to be future crime guns) there is statistical evidence to demonstrate an escalated flow of guns going South from the US. The solution…….(Part I) take “data” to Congress to get more money, Agents and stuff to battle the flow of guns to Mexico….but actually spend it “wherever” .

The people running the Phoenix Field Divison and those that supervise them are the masters of deception. They will lie without regard, top to bottom. The ONLY way to get to the bottom of this is for the Senate to put them under oath. This will at least cause them pause when answering direct questions as they balance their freedom and pensions against a career-preserving cover up. It is a risk vs. reward decision for them. Lie and maybe save my career but risk incarceration or answer truthfully, kill my career but maybe save my retirement and stay out of prison.

The one and only reason CleanUpATF ever even existed is because none of those people or entities cared to listen or were willing to lift a finger to make an improvement. An open door Melson? Really? Your head has been in the sand. Ostrich leadership is all you have delivered. The postings on this site have screamed out for attention to ATF's mismanagement. We have begged for someone, anyone, to hear the cries of those who suffer under unqualified leadership at ATF. But until Agent Terry died, nothing.

On April 12 - 13, all of the SACs are coming to HQ to get a briefing on Fast and Furious, and probably the company line for the little people - you know, the field and the American public. (Yeah, sarcastic) Maybe Scot Thomasson can give them some tips on creative spinning? Funny how we are hurting for money but they want them all to fly in and get a briefing. Hey SACs: if they offer you Kool Aid and purple hankies run for it. Apparently, the last SACs only telephone call a few weeks ago wasn't good enough to keep the united front, so it will be fun to see what comes out of this.

This is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the absolutely fascinating posts from the inside by the ATF whistleblowers at CleanUp ATF. I recommend that you check it out for yourself on a regular basis for the latest in the Project Gunrunner scandal. You sure won't find much information on this from most of the MSM where their attitude on this scandal seems to be a big yawn.

Not a yawn, it's

a concerted effort to save the career of Kenneth Melson, the acting Director.  And, by extension, Eric Holder and Barack.  There is  the problem of upward accountability in an operation like Gunrunner.  Those perched up there don't want it, they want the folks at the bottom of the ladder to fall on their swords, for the good of the organization.

These idiots, the SAC in Phoenix, for one,  facilitated the transfer of 2,500 firearms, to south of the border.  They, and their overlords, in the upper echelons of the BATFE, Justice and the White House, deserve to lose their jobs, just for this exercise in idiocy.

Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry with what Mitt Romney does with his money, than what Obama does with mine

There is a whole slew of alphabet soup bureaucracies that need to be pulled like blood sucking ticks from the rear of our country. So let's start with the letter "A".

Maybe Rambo Rahm wanted

Maybe Rambo Rahm wanted another disaster he could exploit. However, their hand got caught in the cookie jar. They were busy trying to create something that they did not want to go to waste!
