Obama's HHS: 'Children Are Sexual Beings'

By Penny Starr | August 23, 2011 | 07:45

A  A

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is offering advice to parents and teens about sex education, including assurances that teens may “experiment” with homosexuality as part of  “exploring their own sexuality,” and that masturbation should be of concern only “if a child seems preoccupied with it to the exclusion of other activities.”

The information, located on a “Questions and Answers About Sex” link on the “Quick Guide to Healthy Living” portion of the HHS Web site, also describes children and infants as “sexual beings.”

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Under the question “When Do Kids Start Becoming Curious About Sex?” the answer notes that infants have curiosity about their bodies.

“Children are human beings and therefore sexual beings,” the Q&A Web page says. “It's hard for parents to acknowledge this, just as it's hard for kids to think of their parents as sexually active. But even infants have curiosity about their own bodies, which is healthy and normal.”

As for masturbation and “what sort of ‘sexual’ behavior do young kids exhibit?” the page says, “Parents should only be concerned about masturbation if a child seems preoccupied with it to the exclusion of other activities. Victims of sexual abuse sometimes become preoccupied with self-stimulation.”

A link at the bottom of the Q&A page, entitled “Sexual Attraction and Orientation,” includes information on sexual experimentation, including homosexuality.

“Thinking sexually about both the same sex and the opposite sex is quite common as teens sort through their emerging sexual feelings,” the page says. “This type of imagining about people of the same or opposite sex doesn't necessarily mean that a person fits into a particular type of sexual orientation.”

“Some teens may also experiment with sexual experiences, including those with members of the same sex, during the years they are exploring their own sexuality,” the page reads.  “These experiences, by themselves, do not necessarily mean that a teen is gay or straight.”

The HHS Web site reassures teens and parents that having homosexual tendencies as a young person is “common” as teens “sort through their emerging sexual feelings.”

Excuse me?  Homosexual tendencies????  And it's common????

Now I'm not smart enough to work for HHS, but I'm smart enough to know that is B as in B, S as in S.

There is whole lot of difference between "curiosity" and "tendency."

As for this moron Sebilius..............I guess she will be going over to the White House to have a heart-to-heart talk with Malia and Sasha about masturbation, homosexuality, and other commone youthful sexual issues, right???

Funny, islam also says children and infants are sexual beings

Submitted by SickofLibs on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 8:47am.

Thighing: "A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However, he should not penetrate. If he penetrates and the child is harmed then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl, however would not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girl's sister."

Had the same thought

Submitted by jon_torlin on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 9:47am.

And I can't help but wonder if the Muslim in Chief had some say in this with regards to Sebelius.

What bothers me a lot is how this doesn't seem to bother her but that she embraced it.

My God, the level of disgust I have with these people grows by the day exponentially!

Do we really need HHS?

Submitted by Red Jeep on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 9:28am.

"HHS REPRESENTS ALMOST A QUARTER OF ALL FEDERAL OUTLAYS, and it administers more grant dollars than all other federal agencies combined. HHS' Medicare program is the nation's largest health insurer, handling more than 1 billion claims per year. Medicare and Medicaid together provide health care insurance for one in four Americans.

HHS WORKS CLOSELY WITH STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, and many HHS-funded services are provided at the local level by state or county agencies, or through private sector grantees. The Department's programs are administered by 11 operating divisions, including eight agencies in the U.S. Public Health Service and three human services agencies. In addition to the services they deliver, the HHS programs provide for equitable treatment of beneficiaries nationwide, and they enable the collection of national health and other data.

WTF?

Submitted by Newsbubba on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 12:23pm.

"teens may “experiment” with homosexuality as part of “exploring their own sexuality"

There is a word to describe teens who experiment.  They're called GAY!

I mean seriously.  Are these people real, or is gayness and pedophilia the latest birth control plan?

Maybe Moochie should come right out and tell us how many kiddies Bambi has diddled in his life.  Would he recommend that his daughters experiment with homosexuality?  Did Moochie experiment? (OK, that may not be fair since she looks like a BD).  Is Bambi so fascinated with masturbation that he spends an inordinate amount of time on it?

Wait a minute!  That could be the reason he appears to be such a jerkoff when it comes to governing.

I'm just trying to go with the HHS flow here!

Something people don't think about too often

Submitted by jon_torlin on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 12:38pm.

This is something that people don't think about when it comes to these cabinet heads like Sebelius or Napolitino or LaHood or Holder, but these people basically represent the administration which is Soetoro himself.  Whatever they say, is whatever HE says.  There's no autonomy or anything going on(not sure about Panetta after bin Laden) whenever they do things.  Ergo, Soetoro approves of these things.

If I said above that this was disgusting, well, I'm quite wordless with disgust because this should not be accepted as the new normal for ANYTHING.

Therefore to be disgusted with Sebelius is to be disgusted with Soetoro.  Though I don't know how much more that can be than it is now.

Damn, this is making me sick.

Sooner or later there will be a huge backlash.  Don't know when and I don't know where, but it is coming.

My fear is that the longer this insanity goes on, the bigger the backlash will be.  If it goes much longer the backlash may be totally uncontrollable, which would be bad.

My hope is that some Republican, somewhere soon will stand up and call this what it is; total Bull Shiite!

The time for being polite has passed.  We have to walk a hard line, and soon.

Guide to Healthy Living, Government style?

Submitted by CobraMan on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 1:42pm.

The HHS Guide to Healthy Living? Since when it is the job of the federal government to "guide" us in how we live? With all of the self-help books and nutrition guides being sold by individuals, WHY is the government spending money printing yet another useless and unnecessary "guide?"

We the enemy

Submitted by texusmc on Tue, 08/23/2011 - 5:25pm.

I know this is an older movie quote but it really does sum up what this administration wants us to be:

"Anything not good for you is bad, hence, illegal. Alcohol, caffeine, contact sports, meat, Bad language, child play, gasoline, uneducational toys, and anything spicy. Abortion is also illegal. But, then again so is pregnancy, if you don't have a license."

"According to(Seilibus) Cocteau's plan, I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've seen the future. You know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin, sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing, "I'm an Oscar Meyer wiener."

That is unless you are gay or a child....then you are fair game.

"You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance that they are the most ferocious fighters on Earth. And the amusing thing about it is that they are." --Kevin Keaney, US Navy chaplain, Korea 1951

"Makes your skin crawl"

Submitted by lrgon on Wed, 08/24/2011 - 11:09am.

That's how my father says he felt when Dwight Eisenhower signed the bill creating the huge department,HEW, in the nineteen fifties.

Health,Education and Welfare changed its name to Health and Human Services. The name changed but the policies remained the same.

This is the type of sick and seditious federal government department that the Heritage Foundation could not bring itself to recommend to congressman Paul Ryan to make immediate cuts to or to phase it out completely.
