More Pro-Gay Pop-Aganda: Actress Sings 'I Wish I Was Gay'
Jessica Lowndes, an actress on the CW show ''90210,'' is trying to break into the music world - by releasing a song where she ridiculously poses as a straight woman wishing she were gay.
Lowndes released a single with the catchy title ''I Wish I Was Gay,'' about a woman reacting to being cheated on by her boyfriend. Lowdnes repeats the words ''I wish I was gay,'' and expresses a desire to ''escape those boys.'' The song also bizarrely suggests that lesbians are more faithful than straight guys, a claim even gay site Queerty mocked.
The music video features a provocatively dressed Lowndes teasing a man and flirting with her backup dancers before confronting him with his infidelity, shaving his legs and smearing his face with lipstick.
Lowndes' single is part of a larger trend of gay themes being used in contemporary music. The Huffington Post notes that "gay themes are quickly becoming a ubiquitous element of contemporary pop music."
Female musicians in particular are promoting homosexuality and bisexual behavior. Pop star Lady Gaga is notorious for her advocacy of homosexuality, and included homosexual themes in songs such as ''Born This Way.'' Singer Katy Perry explored bisexual themes with her 2008 song ''I Kissed a Girl.'' X Factor competitor Simone Battle recently released a song and music video titled "He Likes Boys," which expressed a girl's unrequited desire for gay guys.
While the trend of increasing homosexuality in pop songs is certainly worrisome, Lowndes' latest propaganda effort would probably draw more of a following if her singing were competent. After listening to Lowndes' lesbian fantasy, most listeners would probably echo the sentiments of one reviewer, who declared: ''I wish I was deaf.''

Here's copy from the research study published by The National Institute of Justice and the Centers for Disease Control (under the GW Bush Administration)
o Women living with female intimate partners experience less intimate partner violence than women living with male intimate partners. Slightly more than 11 percent of the women who had lived with a woman as part of a couple reported being raped, physically assaulted, and/or stalked by a female cohabitant, but 21.7 percent of the women who had married or lived with a man as part of a couple reported such violence by a husband or male cohabitant. These findings suggest that lesbian couples experience less intimate partner violence than do heterosexual couples; however, more research is needed to support or refute this conclusion.
o Men living with male intimate partners experience more intimate partner violence than do men who live with female intimate partners. Approximately 23 percent of the men who had lived with a man as a couple reported being raped, physically assaulted, and/or stalked by a male cohabitant, while 7.4 percent of the men who had married or lived with a woman as a couple reported such violence by a wife or female cohabitant. These findings, combined with those presented in the previous bullet, provide further evidence that intimate partner violence is perpetrated primarily by men, whether against male or female intimates. Thus, strategies for preventing intimate partner violence should focus
on risks posed by men.
If you use a little logic you might understand why there is more IPV (Intimate Partner Violence) among gay men. Men are (vastly) more prone to violence. The other thing is we live in a society where male-on-female violence is considered low and cowardly (as it should be). That men would be more apt to "get into it" with another man, should be of no surprise. And IF you could find a VALID study that shows what you just claimed about lesbians, logic would tell me that 2 lesbian women would be more likely to "get into it" and show more aggression toward their intimate partner than they would "pick a fight" with a man.
Duhhh - SHOCKING isn't it? It doesn't take an Einstein. But it does take a homophobic "Focus on The Family" or "Family Research Council" bigot to make it out to be a "homosexual" trait or flaw - and just one one of the the flock of parrots to continue to spread the anti-gay myths.
What a treat this article is - suddenly the claim is that pop-culture is "turning gay". Yeah right, I'm sure they're all "choosing" to do so because being gay is so cool. Everyone wants to be picked on and ostracized I'm sure. As your buddy John Stossel would say, "Give me a break". Gays have ALWAYS been predominant in the arts and entertainment circles - something you should recognize as a blessing from your loving God maybe? The only thing that MIGHT be changing is that more people are "coming out" than used to occur, but the number of gays (anywhere) is no more than it ever was. But there is really nothing new here - and nothing "threatening" to heterosexuals or marriage because more people are no longer living a lie.
You're the same people who wanted to ban John Lennon's "Imagine" (there is no no heaven.. and no religion too) - which in MY (suburban) TOWN was played at my high school commencement ceremony in 1973. I remember the conservative outrage.

The conclusions were posted by the FRC, but the studies they are based on are not. That is why I posed the link to the notations. I could have posted each study individually, but since the material had already been put together I didn't bother.
The fact that the FRC listed the various studies does not invalidate those studies.

I don't think it's valid to compare homosexual men and lesbian women to straight men and women. They are vastly different.

· In a survey of 1,099 lesbians, the Journal of Social Service Research found that slightly more than half of the lesbians reported that they had been abused by a female lover/partner. The researchers found that "the most frequently indicated forms of abuse were verbal/emotional/psychological abuse and combined physical-psychological abuse."[47]
· A study of lesbian couples reported in the Handbook of Family Development and Intervention "indicates that 54 percent had experienced 10 or more abusive incidents, 74 percent had experienced six or more incidents, 60 percent reported a pattern to the abuse, and 71 percent said it grew worse over time."[48]
· In their book Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them: Battered Gay Men and Domestic Violence, Island and Letellier postulate that "the incidence of domestic violence among gay men is nearly double that in the heterosexual population."[49]

1) Clevenative's link dates the paper as July 2000 during Clinton's administration, not Bush's as he stated.
2) Clevenative and his source fail to make a most elementary conclusion about female perpetrators of bad behavior despite the paper publishing the supportive data: Women are more likely to be abusive when in a homosexual relationship.
The paper states, as does Clevenative's quoting in his post:
To recap: 7.4 % of women in heterosexual relationships versus 11% of women in homosexual relationships commit bad behaviors onto their partners.
Conclusion: When the perpetrator of bad behavior is a woman, it is more likely that woman is in a homosexual relationship.
