If you don't give me money, I won't bail you out!
Conservative opposition to a federal bailout of financial institutions is over campaign donations, not a desire to uphold sound market principles, according to CNBC.
CNBC's chief Washington correspondent John Harwood said Sept. 25 on "Squawk Box" that he had a conversation with "a top Republican member of congress last night" who told him the resistance among conservatives to the $700 billion bailout plan is in part due to Wall Street donations to Democrats.
"‘A lot of our guys have decided that we hate Wall Street ... because they're giving a lot of money to Democrats right now,'" Harwood said he was told by an unnamed source.
"We've talked about how nice the bi-partisan coming together of the far left and the far right to oppose this plan. It was heartwarming, right? That finally brought the fringe elements of both sides together on this," co-host Joe Kernen joked.
The political action committees of American companies had contributed almost $214 million to the Democrats and Republicans by late July, according to The Economist's Sept. 18 issue.
Even though the Democratic Party has not historically kept step with the Republican Party on campaign contributions from business, the magazine pointed out that for the first time in over two decades, the cash was evenly divided with each party received roughly $107m.

September 25, 2008 - 15:13 ET by Ruths husband BenYou know the Dems are going to try and claim that this crisis is due to Republicans. Nothing could be further from the truth. If someone says that it is due to Republican's, show them this video (should be required watching for everyone before they are allowed to vote).

I saw this early this morning..it was a great summary...just excellent, plus I saved the link too to send on to others that I feel need to know more about this all.
Also, I was looking up some info on Fwankie too this morning on google...and found this when it comes to involvement with FannieMae and one of his lovers...
Let alone other people like Paul Krugman...
You may have already seen this link earlier, but others may not have...it is eye-opening...and yet the msm still keeps mum...which of course we can expect nothing less.

September 25, 2008 - 15:33 ET by BluegillHe is like a tape worm, parasite with a tiny brain. If I see him on a panel I have turn the channel quick before I break something. I am out of channels that I can tolerate, other than FOX. Didn't see Katie's interview w/ Sarah but just looking at her smirk is enough for me, especially after seeing the happy face with Biden. Did she show any sympathy for Sarah on the email hacking? doubtful. Man if you can't show compassion for someone having their privacy invaded your really a low life.

Boy did you ever nail that...he is like a tapeworm, I also have to turn it anymore when I see him most times also if I am near the clicker in time to do so...
I also agree with that smirk, that disdainful look on Katie's face during that interview...that picture was worth a thousand words when she showed her true colors, like I have never seen before.
Glad you brought that up...I have wanted to comment on that before and kept forgetting.

The Republicans love big business, and BB loves the Republicans. I have it on good authority.

You've got that right...
I still remember a show on Morning Joe about 6-9 months ago where Joe was asking him questions and he said your people to Joe...and Joe said what do you mean by my people, he said well my side is against whatever they were talking about blah blah blah...it was hilarious...he was caught in a trap..it was priceless...I was pretty ill at the time or I would of looked it up and posted it or sent it to Mark Finkelstein except I don't know that he was covering them like he is now.
Nevertheless, spoke volumes about his propaganda.

September 26, 2008 - 10:24 ET by AvitarChris Dodd is my Senator for the last twenty-five years. I can't avoid it. I don't vote for him, I don't give him money and I don't speak well of him. I do give money to his opposition every time he comes up for election but I cannot give enough money because all of the fat cats on Wall Street give him all sorts of money.
It is no accident that the states that the Wall Street fat cats live in have all Democrat Senators. Nor is it an accident that Chuck Schumer is the head of the Democrat party's committee to elect a controlling majority in the Senate. He has a direct pipeline into all that Wall Street fat cat money. Why would Wall Street Fat Cats give money to Democrats? They appreciate a politician who stays bought.
