I can prove it. Recently it got colder and all of my leaves fell off the tree. We have got to do something!

In fact, I think we should follow Mr. Gore's lead and apply this idea to other things...specifically, I'm thinking we should use supercomputers to create a model showing exactly how much freedom and liberty the people of this nation have lost since the 1930s, when we elected our first socialist president, FDR.  Let's show folks in a few, terrifying seconds how we've gone from a federal system of shared powers between states and feds to one of micro-managing power centered almost completely in Washington DC.  Let them see how we already have socialism, and that it didn't happen overnight but instead through a long, gradual decline into darkness.  Perhaps that will provoke a visceral reaction that can reboot America into a constitutional republic built on the concept of limited governmental authority.

If I understand this correctly, a group of people planning to obtain funds thru false and misleading information thru existing organizations, isn't that conspiracy to commit fraud? Wow, lets see Gore in prison. Oh, wait. Charges would be up to Eric Holder. Damn, so close.

Something times Zero is still Zero, but this charlatan would have us believe that we still have something.

It's funny how people have invested SO much into this global warming/climate change/save our planet crap that when the truth comes out and doesn't fit the theories, suddenly the investments become a waste of time and money. 

Take recycling for example.  It's a real waste of time and money and energy, but that doesn't mean it can't be done.  It's just not a practical process.  Never has been, never will be.

Another is making ethanol versus normal gasoline without the 10,000 different additives those enviro-wackos want to put in.  Ethanol is made from corn or some other plant but it takes a lot of water to grow corn, corn is rough on the soil so you have to treat the soil before growing more.  Then you have some other processes that are also costly in time and money before ending up with a product that's supposed to burn like gasoline except you get lower gas mileage and unless your engine is constructed to USE ethanol, it corrides the fuel lines and other parts of your vehicle.  Again, it's not practical, never has been, never will be.  It even causes more pollution than regular gasoline, but the wackos would have us believe otherwise.

False data/information all around.  The masses have swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker.

I've heard this type of comment before and it points to a basic misunderstanding about what types of predictions can be made about complex systems.

Day to day weather forecasts are an attempt to predict local (read as detailed) climate behavior. By contrast, global climate models try to predict large scale behavior. Because the Earth's atmosphere is a chaotic system (in the scientific sense), it's basically impossible to make accurate local long term predictions. But large scale predictions are possible. The distinction between the two isn't a matter of degree, it's a matter of type. They represent two different types of problems.

As an analogy - if I put a pot of water on a stove and turn the stove one, I can predict (accurately) how the temperature of the system will change with time. By contrast, it would be basically impossible for me to track the behavior of a single water molecule over that same time period.

(For those who understand this stuff, I realize that my analogy doesn't really represent a chaotic system - I'm just trying to get the basic idea across)
