It is said that the people are revolting.
You said it! They stink on ice!
That pretty much sums up the attitude of the Kossacks at the Daily Kos. However, unlike the Mel Brooks version of King Louis XVI in "History of the World: Part I," the Kossacks are fearful, deeply fearful, of the people. They are worried that the Tea Party protesters who show up at the town hall meetings conducted by members of Congress might derail Obamacare due to the large turnouts and vehemence of their protests as you can see in this thread posted by Kossack icebergslim:
Sure, it is a bunch of nuts or really UNINFORMED constituents who are buying into the argument of the NON-ARGUMENT of the Republican Party for health care reform.
The Obama White House needs to get out of the bubble and get real here. We all know that the lobbyists and insurance companies are ARMED TO THE NINES to defeat any health care reform, UNLESS THEY WRITE IT. Since they can not WRITE IT, they will destroy it. Simple as that.
Why is this dangerous?
These folks are ON TELEVISION, getting eyeballs, and making traction. Worried yet? Sure, it may be just a few, but a few can rollerball into many. The Democrats have not sold the health care reform argument because there is no f---ing bill by them. Are we shooting the bullets into our feet yet?
If you are shooting bullets into your feet, don't expect Obamacare to heal them. And how are the large turnouts explained by the Kossacks? According to the comments on that thread, the protestors are really paid agitators or professional lobbyists:
also, some of these conservatives are astroturfers who are actually in the pocket of big pHarma and insurance companies--not actual concerned citizens speaking their own minds.
Be interesting to know if any of them are being paid for this craziness.
My guess is yes. There are lobbyists in those wolf packs. They are on a clock.
There are lobbyists in these packs. They are posing as citizens. They pay the homeless to stand in line for them. You do not think they are above paying some poor soul to hold a sign and chant the crazy?
They were trucked in for the event, as noted above. Typical thuggish intimidation tactics.
Yes, there are paid protestors out there but they aren't Tea Party participants. They are the ACORN crew who are paid by the taxpayers.
Oh, remember how the left used to proclaim that dissent is patriotic? Not anymore. Since Obama arrived in office, dissent is now treated as outright treason which must be punished as you can see in the following comments on the same thread:
What's going on that cops aren't maintaining order at these town halls?
Where are the police? These people are disturbing the peace and inciting a riot, in my opinion.
I'm ready and willing to go to war against these radical fascist racist f---s. I mean real war, not rhetorical. I. HATE. THEM. HATE THEM.
Apparently the protests against Obamacare have shaken up the left quite a bit as you can see in this plaintive plea:
Where are the union people?
Where are the people who've been hassled by their insurance companies?
Where are the people who don't have insurance?
Where are the people who've had to pay more and more each year for their coverage?
Where are the business owners who are being strangled by insurance costs?
Where are the business owners who would like to see their employees have insurance?
Where are our "mobs?"

August 4, 2009 - 11:09 ET by StarAZAmericans are pretty can-do and like come chaos and cracks to slide into if they need to. Yes, some people are screwed because they can't get insurance or can only afford ripoff plans--I bought my family's insurance individually for three decades--it is a total jungle of creepiness. But we only need these czars to tighten up on the companies to solve a lot of this--let the companies offer uniform plans like the Medicare supplementals...If they can provide a set of benefits at a lower price due to efficiencies, great, they get more business--competition, remember it? They also would have to take people, no cherry picking, no delaying treatments until people croak, no stupid nonsense like they do now. Offer a decent product. If people can't afford it--then the govt can get up off part of the fee for those in need. If being fair is tuly going to break the companies, then maybe they get some bailout down the line. But not this wholesale heaving of money out the window. Coops and allowing sales across state lines would also help. But we don't need this stranglehold on our records, our parenting, our plans for survival, our private life, basically.
But we only need these
August 4, 2009 - 12:02 ET by Dan The Man 2But we only need these czars to tighten up on the companies to solve a lot of this--let the companies offer uniform plans like the Medicare supplementals...
Star, was that satire? If it was not then you dont really understand how government works. Government programs only ghet bigger and almost never go away and they stifle freedoms. Look at any of the programs started years ago, like Income tax or SS or farm subsidies. You will see these had noble purposes but have been coopted over the years and grown into a monstrosity we cant kill.
I too see a reasonable form of clinics to serve the uninsured but it too will not work in reality. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I am not talking about the govt
August 4, 2009 - 12:57 ET by StarAZThe Medicare supplementals are offered by private cos. Somewhere they got regulated so every company's Plan A is like every other co's Plan A--except on cost. Some companies offer the same benefits at less cost...Most people select Plan F. If the cos had to put uniform plans out there, then people could compare and make the cos compete. They would compete with each other--not with a govt plan.
Star you are still talking
August 4, 2009 - 18:03 ET by Dan The Man 2Star you are still talking about government controlled healthcare. Did you not get the idea that small innocous programs grow into monsters? Coops are one thing but selling across state lines is as dangerous as recognizing homosexual "marriages" across state lines. If each state wants to standardize their reuirements then they can, only get Feds out of it.
Almost any goverment program is subject to corruption.
Re uniform plans
August 4, 2009 - 12:56 ET by slickwillie2001I agree somewhat. I'd like to see insurance companies allowed to offer single plans across the entire country, absent any federal or state mandates (far chance). Right now it is the state mandates that blows up the cost of state private insurance plans. A plan in New York state can cost three times what a similar one in Ohio costs. The only difference are the state mandates. Someone on Fox News yesterday said that private insurance companies hate this option because while there is lots of private competition on a national basis, each company has established niches in some states where they have the majority of the market.
But re 'no prior conditions' clause, I don't see how that can work. What would prevent someone from going uninsured until they get sick, and then signing up for a plan from the ambulance? Or living on a cheapie plan until they get sick then upgrading to a Cadillac plan? Of course, insurance companies can offer 'no prior conditions' plans, but they would have to cost twice what they cost now, and we would all pay for that. The fans of no-prior can't answer this question.
People sort of do that now
August 4, 2009 - 14:17 ET by StarAZUninsured people go to the ER and if something is badly wrong, go to social services and get help getting on Medicaid. I heard Rush say people can get health care now, go to the ER, when the bill comes, the repo man comes for the car and oh well...something like that, showing a lot of sensitivity. This way, they get on a plan that they pay something toward...even if it is last-minute. And yes, people need insurance even if they have something wrong with them. I still want to know if all this is so great--why even have Medicaid--saddle the states--put all those people on whatever it is, too.
Democrat Insurance Commisioners are the Problem
August 4, 2009 - 16:07 ET by GlubberMy state had a Democrat insurance commissioner that screwed up my state, Washington. They forced the insurance people to NOT charge for pre-existing conditions and FORCED them to offer Taj Mahal services. I'm sorry, but a person that has had five kidney operations SHOULD pay more for insurance than a healthy adult with NO health problems.
This caused Blue Shield and other companies to just BAIL out of the state, causing a major crisis with people that had those plans.
The answer, if there is a PROBLEM, 9 times out of 10, there is a Democrat involved....and CAUSED it!
Re Bail Out
August 4, 2009 - 16:21 ET by slickwillie2001Since the Bamster ultimately wants to eliminate private health insurance, I suspect forcing the companies to accept any prior existing conditions is just another way to bankrupt them and force them out of business. Imagine if you could get insurance for your car after you wrecked it. Why would anyone get the insurance before the accident?
If the Bamster succeeds, the health insurance companies will end up shrinking dramatically, laying off many thousands, and ending up in a niche offering supplements to Obamacare, just as they do with Medicare. Or maybe they will just go away.

We are not paid, sponsored, or bussed.
The GOP hasn't said ONE WORD and are NOT involved.
We are in the majority and the Reps here will NOT meet with us.
We did not disrupt anything because we were the only ones there!
And now I read this about O's visit to VA?????
"There were several vehicles following the limo that contained the secret service. The vehicles had all the windows rolled down, and back hatches open on the SUVs with the men holding their, I assume assault rifles, machine guns, drawn on everyone lining the streets. Needless to say, it took my breath away at the sight of them, and made my friends and I dizzy with fear.... I turned on a local talk radio program as we were leaving and all the calls were about witnessing the guns being pointed at them."
Folks we are not just headed, but we are in the communist dictatorship funded by George Soros and the Rockefellers.
