Nickelodeon Broadcasts Cartoon Homage to 'Dear Leader' Obama

  • Bookmark and Share

Does anyone here recall Nickelodeon presenting a cartoon homage to President George W. Bush? No? Of course not. "Wrong" politics. However, if you think your very young children are safe from being exposed to subtle political brainwashing while watching Nick Jr., which presents Nickelodeon cartoons for children 5 and under, you would be wrong. Check out this poetic cartoon homage to Barack Obama currently running on Nick Jr.. Here is what your young ones will hear:

Nickelodeon celebrates President Barack Obama and some of his favorite things.

Barack Obama is the first African-American to be President.  That is what's called a historic event.

Leading a country is no easy task. So what does he do to relax you may ask?

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

He loves shrimp linguini and the chili he cooks. He also plays Scrabble; collects comic books.

He likes classical and hip-hop and jazz music too. He always goes shopping for the same type of shoe.

He reads lots of books and writes wonderful speeches. He goes on vacation and takes walks on beaches.

He loves basketball; it's his favorite sport. In the White House backyard he'll have his own court.

He reads bedtime stories to his daughters at night. The President in pajamas? What a sight!

Now you know the President better than before. Which leaves just one thing, when he sleeps does he snore?

Perhaps your humble correspondent is a wee bit old fashioned but he doesn't recall any politics injected into the Tom & Jerry or Bugs Bunny cartoons he watched while a kid. This isn't the first time Nickelodeon has been involved in subjecting children to liberal politics. In October 2007, Nickelodeon was exposed here in NewsBusters for pushing leftwing propanda. Here was the complaint posted by a mother on her blog:

This Nickelodeon “news program”, is not a news program. It is a leftist primer on how to be a “left-wing radical REBEL”.

I am not a blind follower of our Government, and I also think that Government should be watched by it’s citizens. It is our civic duty.

However this program led by Ellerby, is anti-war, anti- GWOT, anti-military.

This “news program” is not about people changing the World around them.

Ms. Ellerby uses leftist propaganda buzz words like “taking on the establishment”.

She shows a group of “tweenagers” walking around in orange jumpsuits, hooded and yelling from a bullhorn. “We are not ok, with people being tortured by American soldiers!” “Are cooperation’s priority over human lives?”

There is also a call for the impeachment of the President in the second segment of the video, “democracy is at stake because of the President violating the Constitution”.

The fourth segment of video shows another tweenager, who has put together a video of wounded Iraqi children, with the song Jesus Loves Me playing over it. This teenager blames America, the military, for what is happening in Iraq. This young girl says “she finds, videos and facts on the Internet” to show what is REALLY happening in Iraq. I am guessing she is getting these images from Al Jazeera.

Nickelodeon received a lot of well deserved criticism for that broadcast. However, it appears they haven't quite learned the lesson about not mixing politics with children's shows.

Look who owns Viacom

Sumner Redstone is the chairman of both CBS Corporation and Viacom, which owns Nickelodeon. Redstone gave a maximum contribution of $2,300 to Hillary Clinton on August 10, 2007. Since 1995, Redstone has also contributed to Democrats Joe Biden, Tom Daschle, Patrick Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Al Franken, Patrick Leahy, Robert Torricelli, Al Gore, Chuck Schumer, Fritz Hollings, Edward Markey, John Dingell, Richard Gephardt, Carl Levin, Gerry Studds, and Howard Berman. He also contributed to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, DNC Services Corp., and Handgun Control Inc. To be fair, Redstone has also contributed to Republican Senators Larry Pressler, Alfonse D’Amato, John McCain, Ted Stevens, and Orrin Hatch, and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Redstone’s daughter, Shari, serves as CBS Corporation’s vice chairman of the board. She has contributed to Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Jim Langevin, Chellie Pingree, Richard Licht, Ted Kennedy, and DNC Services Corp. It appears that she has contributed to just one Republican during the past decade: William Weld.

Perhaps this is all coincidence, but the CBS Corporation ran all those anti-Bush segments on 60 Minutes, including the Rathergate segment that ended Dan Rather’s career with CBS News. CBS Corporation also owns Simon & Schuster, which published Richard Clarke’s Against All Enemies, Ron Suskind’s The Price of Loyalty, Valerie Plame’s Fair Game, Craig Unger’s House of Bush, House of Saud, and other anti-Bush books. In addition, Simon & Schuster published Living History, Hillary Clinton’s autobiography.

MTV/VH1

Viacom also owns MTV and VH1. I think they are turning Nick into a stepping stone to influence kids to watch these (awful) networks.

The only thing I can say is

The only thing I can say is not to let your kids watch Nick.  When my kids were of age to want to watch shows on Nick, it was fine as far as I could tell.  Then Nick started having a show called the "Big Help" or something like that.  It was ok mostly, just talking about picking up trash and maybe planting trees and such.  But that is where all this began I think.  Then they started having award shows for Nick programs and they started bringing in "celebrities" and things have gone "down the liberal hill" from there.

Sad really.  It use to be a fun, innocent network for kids.

Seashell

When we stopped watching Nick was when they had commercials about people farting. I can't remember the purpose of the commercial, it didn't seem to be advertising, just trying to be funny I guess. It was just the last straw in a series of small annoyances, none that would be complaint-worthy in and of themselves. My kids haven't missed it one bit.

Where Does One Start?

"He loves shrimp and weenie and the chili he cooks."

And $100 steaks flown in from Japan which your mommy and daddy have to pay for.

"He reads lots of books and writes wonderful speeches."

He reads Saul Alinsky, who was a very bad man,  and someone else writes the speeches, which really aren't so wonderful.

"He goes on vacation and takes walks on beaches."

Yeah, we know.  In his first month in office, he was already taking vacation.

"The President in pajamas? What a sight!"

Yeah, we already know.  His wife said he was stinky and snorey.

No more Nickelodeon for my 5 year old!!!!

Nickelodeon will NOW be BLOCK from our tv.    The Mora family.

BUMP

No more Nickelodeon for my 5 year old!!!!

The trouble is...

They still get your money, regardless of whether you watch.

Still helps

Viacom may still get the money, but atleast the kid won't get the indoctrination.

Okay...how about this...

Nickelodeon celebrates President George W. Bush and some of his favorite things.

George W. Bush is the first under-achiever to be President.  That is what's called a historic event.

Leading a country is no easy task. So what does he do to relax you may ask?

He loves drinking and biking and the pretzels he eats. He played the game Strategy and always got beat.

He likes Laura and country music too. He always ducks from the same type of shoe.

He doesn't read any books and screws up a word. He goes on vacation and gives you the bird.

He loves t-ball; it's his favorite game. In the White House backyard his playing is lame.

He listens to bedtime stories from his daughters at night. The President in footy pajamas? What a sight!

Now you know the President the same as before. Which leaves just one thing, when he sleeps does he dream torture?

I'll submit it to Nick Jr. later...

He'd flunk the first question the nuthouse asks potential clients "Who's President?"

Left out this part...

"He reads bedtime stories to his young daughters about the evils of bitter white American's who cling to their guns and religion."

"His beautiful wife Michelle has never been proud of her country until recently."

"He goes to Church on Sunday's and prays that God will damn America"

"He sends thrills up the legs of the News Media."

"He is a modern day Robin Hood who steals from greedy rich people to spread the wealth to those who don't deserve it."

You may want to know; does his s**t stink too?"

Stay Tuned!

It's not just Nick

I've noticed that they liberally indoctrinate kids during Saturday morning cartoons on the the alphabet (ABC, cBS, etc.) networks.  They run all sorts of "service announcements" which universally champion some liberal cause.  It all speaks to the fact that liberals hate conservative parental rights and will do anything they can to subvert them.  They will try to reach out and undo the lessons you teach you're children in any way they can.  Theses people are so tyrannical, they believe that a parent doesn't have the right to take their kids to church.

Mr or Mrs Rosie O'Donnell

I could be wrong, but isn't one of the decision makers in the top tier of Nickelodeon network "married" to that big plop, Rosie?  I'm pretty sure she's an executive there or something.

He likes weenie??

What the heck does it mean that he likes weenie?  I listened to the video and thought "that can't be what they're saying", but....if you say so?  Is that a double entendre?

Audio

That's what it sounded like to me. If someone hears it different, then please post what you heard.

Linguini

Okay. I checked again and it sounds like "linguini." No mention of arugula.

So he likes a little noodle.  So what?

I think it would make him a cannibal.

Socialism starts with the young

Don't forget the fiction of 'Anthro Global Warming' folks. Kids are being pumped full of nonsense about 'global warming' and other Big-Enviro propaganda. We are all horrified by the 'palestinian' version of Mickey Mouse propagandizing 'palestinian' children, but we are fast moving in the same direction. The fascists in Nazi Germany knew that programming had to start early, that's why there was a Hitler Youth. Control a child for the first ten years or so, and you have them for life.

He is NOT an African-American

He is an African Arab from Africa and half socialist Caucasian.

None of his ancestors were held as slaves in this country.

He relied on the color of his skin to make people think he had ties to the American Blacks.

The sooner more people start pointing this out to the label "African-American" the sooner those who voted for him will realize that he has no ties to the descendents of slaves in this country.

And it is a distinction that needs to be made, or he will be the last Black person elected for many generations.

And that will truly be a black mark on our country.

http://gjresult.com

→ Dead horse

Although it is documented Barack Obama's ancestore did own two slaves, I think it's safe to say America's perception of his skin color is, black.

Obama - Change you can bereave in

Tell me that this

Tell me that this man , and is the biological father of this man with this mother.

Then look at this man.

I am unconvinced.

"He writes good speeches"

I saw this the other day with my youngest son in the room.  He said to me "You like Obama Daddy, right?"  I told him I support any president that makes good choices, and he hasn't made any good choices yet.

I wanted to break down the cartoon for it's silliness piece by piece but what really got me was the line "He writes good speeches".  What?  Since when has he ever written one of his own speeches?  Even his speechwriters don't even use their own material!

Let the deprogramming begin.

When a liberal speaks, the truth is busy elsewhere.

Good Speeches?

Yeah, I had to do the same deprogramming on my own kid, who is conservative like me. (It drives her uber-liberal dad crazy.) Our conversation went something like this:

Me: "So, in your mock-election you voted for Barack Obama?"

Her: "Yeah."

"Can I ask why?"

"Well, I don't like John McCain, and Obama always sounds so cool when he gives a speech.

"Honey, President Obama doesn't write his own speeches. He just reads them from a teleprompter. He never uses his own words and thoughts when he's reading speeches. You know that, right?"

#crickets#

"Seriously, honey. Think about how he sounds when he's giving a speech vs. when he's answering a reporter's question.

#crickets# "Oh, wait--is that why he's always going 'um-uh-ah-' when he's talking to reporters?"

"Yep."

"That sucks. Why did anybody elect him?"

Join the club, kid.

And yet the Left wonders why

some people think Obama could be the AntiChrist? /sarc

Anti-Christ, The Beast, Or...

...the coming of the darkness/dark times, described in Revelation, which proceeds the coming of the Anti-Christ.  (My mom believes this is the darkness spoken of in Revelation.  I can't disagree, because my own assumption--that he's The Beast instead--is even scarier.)

Kimbery

Someone sent me an e-mail that said that the Secret Service's nickname for Obama (each presdent has one) is "The Renegade". In this e-mail it was pointed out that "Renegade" means "Lawless one".  There is a verse in 2 Thess about the Antichrist being called the "Lawless one".  I have reservations though, because he seems like he should be called "The Clueless One" but I guess we just wait and see.

cartoon homage to President George W. Bush?

OK, it wasn't Nick, but who can forget the animated wonder that was "Lil Bush?"

Or that other wacky show...

..."That's My Bush!"  (From South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who are Libertarians, as I remember.)

PBS Wisconsin Kids

I have 2 4-year-olds and a 2-year-old who used to watch PBS Kids WI, and at least twice a week after the inauguration, they would have stuff about Barack Obama on...first black President, history being made, you can do anything you want, blah, blah, blah...I don't know if they still are; we turned off the tube, something we should have done long ago.

I have a step grandchild on the way

and that kid is going to watch my Warner Bros. classics collections.  Completely un-PC and everything!  They make fun of Mexicans, Arabs, people with speaking disabilities. people with learning disabilities, the Irish, you name it.  This kid'll grow up tough.

Oh, Yeah...

I unveiled those to my kid, too.  Nothing like good old fashioned Warner Bros. cartoons.  I also got hold of some of the WWII propaganda cartoons as well; nothing like seeing America portrayed as she really is--the greatest country in the history of the world.

Why would they do anything

Why would they do anything for Bush? He was just another middle-aged white guy President. No matter if you like his politics or not, Obama's election was historic

~Lame

Historic Marxist President. Yay.

Complaint to Noggin

This has been running for a few weeks now. I complained to Noggin through their website a week ago. I never received a response and I guess I don't expect to.

It is irritating to say the least. Libs cry that we need to see "beyond color". Well, quit pointing out the fact that Obama is "special". Special in a way that he is "African American" and president. My 3 year old has not yet asked what "African-American" means. So when he does, I guess I'll say, his skin is dark or black. Where his thoughts or questions go beyond that, I'll be interested to find out.

Lil Barack

I have been thinking constantly about endless story lines for a   animated program.  I can't decide on calling it Lil Barack or Lil Obama. This could be hilarious.  Think about it, one episode he could go around demanding lunch money from kids to disperse to others less fortunate.  Then when he's asked how much he put in himself, he could respond "There you go again, playing politics."  We could have a sinister school kid named Rahm, this would be awesome. I am really getting giddy here.

Don't Forget...

Principal Rush, who always thwarts lil' Obama's plans in the end.  That would be classic.

Maybe add in librarian Annie C. (who refuses to let the school system stock Saul Alinsky's books) and math teacher Sean H. (who keeps explaining to lil' Barry that everybody putting their milk money in the kitty will result in more cash in the jar than just requiring the well-off students to put in their entire lunch money for the day, much to lil' Barry's dismay).

You're on to something, prouder.  Keep it up.

Well, the silver lining....

If they come through with the 'fairness doctrine' this group of TVchannels could be in line for a fairness in programming thing.

http://gjresult.com

Oh this is nothing!

A couple weeks after election day, my son and I were watching SpongeBob and (I kid you not) 3 times within an hour we were treated to a music video of Natasha Bedingfield singing "Yes We Can". Again, I kid you not! Apparently the song is by Nickelodeon's version of the Jonas Brothers, the Naked Brothers Band.

http://www.monstersandcritics.com/smallscreen/news/article_1444770.php/Nickelodeons_Holiday_line-up_of_programming

Look at Dec. 13th at 9pm...I suppose that is what they were plugging.

Needless to say he hasn't watched any Nick channels since.

Nick sending wrong message

I've noticed these "public service announcements" and, for now, the only way my grandchild will be watching Noggin is on the TIVO so I can skip the programming of her little mind.

There is another complaint I have with this, which I'm sure will be seen as narrow-minded, prejudiced, racist...Obama is NOT the first black president!!! He may be the first bi-racial (or tri-racial, depending on who is talking) president. The only reason I can understand that his caucasian mother isn't recognized in his racial identity (although he is half-caucasian) is because it doesn't sell as well. The only reason I can think of that it has never been addressed or questioned is because it is so politically incorrect to state the obvious when folks are trying to convince you of a different version of the "truth". Let's be real...doesn't everyone really know the truth already that he is biracial? And should it really matter? The fact that he is biracial, black, white, or purple doesn't matter to me...what matters is that he is misrepresenting himself and the black community. This irks the heck out of me...that and the fact that he has not proven that he is legally eligible to run our country. (Remember the missing birth certificate? Check out this site for more information: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=90574.)

Proud American

your last comment is absolutely right! Why do the Lib/Dem people totally ignore the fact that his mother IS WHITE???? That his dear ole Granny WAS WHITE (you know the one he threw under the bus on the campaign trail)....1st "black" President?? I don't think so...just ask Slick Willy who that was!!! My kids were being indoctrinated @ school, saying we have our first "black" Prez. No no no kids he is our 1st bi-racial Prez. Or as my dear old mother from W Virginia would say "he's a mallato".

Racism?

It's like Halle Berry standing on the stage at the Oscars, as her WHITE mother--who raised her as a single parent because her BLACK daddy deserted them--sits in the audience applauding her and crying, all while Halle is screaming, crying, and sobbing about how incredible it is to be the first BLACK Best Actress winner. I thought I was going to throw up. She didn't mention her mother ONCE. How rude.

Really, as Rush says, it's always the LIBERALS making a big deal out of what category people fall into--black, white, man, woman, rich, poor--while the CONSERVATIVES just see people. Remember when Sarah Palin was selected to be the Republican VP candidate? Obama could have picked a chick--Hilary--but instead the candidate of change picked some old white guy, while the old white guy on the Republican ticket actually made a change by bringing in a new face to the scene. And who can forget the Dems and Liberal Media's treatment of Governor Bobby Jindal--a man whose family lived the American dream, two Punjab immigrants settling in the Louisiana bayou, working multiple jobs and doing everything they could to allow their family to survive and thrive. Were they celebrating the diversity of a man of East Indian heritage and a man of East African heritage speaking on the same night? No. Did they marvel that the son of a Punjab immigrant and the son of a broken family raised in Kenya, Indonesia, and Hawaii were in front of a national audience on the same night? No. Instead, Our First Black President, Our Lord And Savior, Messiah Barack Obama got critical gushing for a meaningless, empty speech, while "Slumdog Millionaire" or "Kenneth The Page" (the Indian character on 30 Rock) was derided for giving an upbeat, awesomely inspiring summary of what The American Dream is really all about.

So, where's the racism in America? It's alive and well and thriving in the MSM, the U.S. Congress, and the Oval Office.

Nickelodeon Gone Wrong

Yes, Obama is the first African American president, but since when is Nickelodeon in charge of educating children on President current events!  It's not an ongoing thing that has happened for every past president, that would be a different story... What children need to learn about our new president will be taught at school; Nickelodeon is stepping way outside of its boundaries to taint childrens' minds at an early age.

To Be Fair...

...when I was a kid, ABC used to run "Schoolhouse Rock" on Saturday mornings. Who can forget learning to multiply in a simple 2:30 song? And everybody of a certain age group knows the preamble of the U.S. Constitution by heart because the Schoolhouse Rock folks wrote a song about it. I saw an off-off-Broadway stage production a few years ago based on the "Schoolhouse Rock" songs. It was great fun, and by the end, the show's lead singers went out into the audience, all of us joined hands, and we sang the chorus of "We The People" together. Totally Awesome, and hearing it sung today still gives me chills.

We've fallen so far, though, coming from politics-neutral (for the most part) "Schoolhouse Rock" to NickJr. indoctrination lessons. Rest assured that no child entering my house--and no child I care for--will ever see a TV tuned to NickJr. That station--and anyone who advertises on it--will never be shown in my house or many other houses across the nation thanks to this. Good job, Viacom. Way to throw money away.

Good Bye Nickelodean

I wrote Viacom a similar letter to what I wrote to CNN in 1998.  I told them I wish them luck with their new business model to cater to half the people in this country but I prefer to instill my own values in my family. I go on to tell them I didnt recall the introduction of Mr. Bush to our kids 8 years earlier.   The other day I was talking to my wife about the economy and we were discussing the President and my 3 yr old says - 'I know Rock Bama...he does EVERYTHING!'  I asked her where she saw this and she said on 'her shows' in the morning.

I explain to here that he is our president and a very important man, but he doesnt do 'Everything.'

So that leaves us with the Disney channel I guess.  Oh well.  Hopefully, something else fills the gap for parents like us.

Actually, "Kenneth The Page" is white...

Of course, you must have mistook him for saying India instead of Indiana, where I believe he was born.

I don't get this obssession over people being so paranoid about cartoons. I've said it before: I think you're all naturally prejudice against us cartoonists, so you blame all of society's ills on us. You really need to get over this and accept the fact that it is this kind of paranoia that drives people like me to be further to the left than we would normally be.

Case in point: I don't like Obama's plans to raise taxes and spending 700-800 billion tax dollars to allegedly stimulate the economy. I was moved by McCain's monologue on the senate floor about the earmarks and the disgutingly huge amount of them that are being used from this stimulus. That was the kind of rehtoric that made me inclined to vote for McCain. But then his campaign released a disgusting ad about the myth of a so-called "War on Christmas" the day before the election. In that one move, he lost my vote. I will not vote for anyone who is paranoid about a cartoon or a mythic "War on Christmas" because that makes them look insane. As much as I hate Obama's tax and spend plan, I didn't see him go off the deep end about cartoons or Wars on Christmas. That is what you have to learn from if Republicans are ever going to win presidential elections again.

Send Nick Jr a Message

http://www.nickjr.co...

Your propaganda cartoon on Barak Obama crosses the line.  My children are allowed to watch Nick Jr for shows like Diego, Sponge Bob, etc..., not to have a liberal agenda that fawns all over the President.  Where is the President George Bush version?  His election was historical too.  It isn't very often a father/son are President.  Nice teaching moment could be to point out the Adams & Bush connection.  How about showing how President Bush and Laura are now living in Tx, reading books, playing with their nieces and nephews.  Hoping for a grandchild, and doing charitable works...It might be a nice balance to show/support our last President and not make him out to be so evil as he is often portrayed.  Nah...you guys have an agenda.  Well I do too...Disney & Sprout up...Nick Jr off!!

I saw this "commercial" last

I saw this "commercial" last weekend, and had to rip my daughter from the couch and take her into the other room so she wouldn't see that propaganda crap. I also immediately emailed them through the website to let them know of my displeasure. I told then that if the premise was to teach kids about the office of the POTUS, then they failed mierably. There are s many GREAT presidents to teach about. I also mentioned that it was obvious it was propaganda to indoctrinate impressionable children and that the Perez family will not be watching those channels until the commercial is removed and an apology is made. So I guess we won't be watching that channel ever again... I really like the show Max and Ruby... I mean... my kids love that show.
